The darkness has once again shrouded the city and the moon hid behind the cover of the dark clouds that threaten to shower the earth with rain.
The wind is biting cold and the air brought forth its stale and pungent scent throughout the whole city.
The glittering neon light provides enough luminosity that attracts people like moths to the fire. Many people are lining up in the crowd as heavy music would reverberate through the air every time the large doors of the club would open.
As I observe the surroundings, I find it a bit stifling and I feel a bit nauseated by the strange smell in the air.
When I was interrogating that guy inside the place that those young people called 'the Base', I have gotten my hands on the information that Lin Ting would be visiting this place tonight.
When I heard that, I became really excited. How could I not feel the excitement? I could not wait to get my hands on this chance for revenge.
That sinister face of Lin Ting at that time with his colored hair and deep black eyes began to come and go in my mind as I recalled that horrifying experience at that time.
I did not know why, but right now, I seem to feel afraid…
But I also know that I am not the weak Xin Wei from before. I am now strong and powerful, not like any normal man and I could do things that most humans could not. So, why am I still afraid? I myself do not know.
As I stare at those people below while lurking through the roof of a building, I noticed that the man I was waiting for has finally arrived.
Wearing a dark blue suit and dark blue hat, coupled with a few bodyguards surrounding him, Lin Ting looks a bit different.
However, I could still recognize him from his facial features and that haughty way of walking.
While watching this scene below I could not help but feel my hands shaking. I feel the excitement, anxiousness, and an intense desire to kill.
I could not control myself as my vision slowly blurred and my mind once again came back to that time when he was stabbing me. And that scene is replayed over and over and over inside my head.

While Xin Wei is watching Lin Ting from the shadows of a building, one of his guards seems to feel something weird so his eyes were directed in the direction where Xin Wei is lurking. His sharp eyes penetrated through the darkness and then look at the roof where Xin Wei was previously squatting on.
But then he saw no one. He squinted but still found no trace of that strong killing intent from before.
He shook his head and then followed Lin Ting and the two other bodyguards inside the Dancing Swan Bar.
Right at this moment, on the roof, a figure is quietly lying on the ground while his eyes are closed tightly. One could tell that he seems to be suffering from some sort of nightmare.
Suddenly, his eyes opened wide as he clenches his fists and punches the floor.
Bam!
The strong force dented the room and the noise is like the sound of thunder.
Followed by his fist is the sky lighting and the crackling sound of another thunder immediately echoed through the night.
"I think it's going to rain…" one of the bouncers said while looking at the dark sky.
Then, just as he finished saying his words, the rain began pouring in.
"Damn it!"
"We have to get inside!"
"Go to the shade right there!"
The people on the line began to scuttle roundabout as they try to evade the rain.
As everyone is dress to have fun at the bar, many women would not want to get wet so that their mascara and makeup would not get smudged.
While everyone is scampering through the streets trying to get out of the rain, a person has already stealthily entered the building of the Dancing Swan Bar.
The flashing lights of the bar which flickers with the rhythm of the music and the sweaty bodies all over the place can one feel his adrenaline pumping and desire growing. The grinding bodies of the young people on the dance floor can make one think of many sensual fantasies which fueled the rage and the rave that these young people have.
While this is happening on the dance floor inside a private room a few people are currently inside discussing something important. Lin Ting is one of those people.
On both of his sides are young and beautiful girls wearing skimpy clothes while they caressed his body.
"Mister Lin… the deal that we have about the… merchandise." The man wearing a silver and gold suit on the other end of the table said with a sly smile on his face.
"Professor Ang… you are too impatient. As you see, it was hard for me to get my hands on such precious item… the price that you have set seems to be a little low, don't you think?" Lin Ting said nonchalantly while he enjoys the soft touches of the women on both of his arms.
The man wearing a silver and gold suit frowns after hearing this. He did not expect that Lin Ting would not follow the deal they have last time. This guy seems to need more cash than he expected.
"Mister Lin, the association can give you more money if you wanted to. You can name your prize…" Professor Ang said with a smile on his face.
But his smile looks a bit shrewd which made Lin Ting sneer.
"I don't need money… I have those. What I need is the technology… The technology that you guys have discovered to turn a normal human into a Hunter." Lin Ting said as if he knew some secret.
"You… do you know that this a secret of the syndicate! If Yu Bai heard this, then…"
"You don't have to threaten me with Yu Bai's name… He has been at the top. He has always been at the top. Ever since he reached there, he seems to have forgotten who brought him in his place. He seems to have forgotten who helped him get where he is right now." Lin Ting said as he glared at the man.
The people behind the man suddenly turned alert.
How could they not? This is the territory of Lin Ting and they are only here for a secret mission. If something happened and they are discovered, then they would suffer at the hands of the syndicate leader.
"Alright… alright… you win. I will tell you a part of that secret. It's only up to you to discover the rest… Hihi…"
When Lin Ting heard this, his eyes went wide in excitement.
Actually, he already knew a part of that secret, but those guys from the syndicate seem to be hiding more of it.
"Tell me, the key… do not beat around the bushes…" Lin Ting said as he drew closer to the man and left the arms of the two women around him.
"Hihi… Okay… The secret are… the cores…"
"The cores? What do you mean?"
"Hihi… Monsters… have… cores…"
When Lin Ting heard this, his eyes went wide in realization. But he is not sure if what this man is telling him is the truth. But since this guy is part of the syndicate research laboratory, he might be telling the truth.
And right now, this guy has secretly given them a task to hunt a monster in the forest and take its egg. They found the monster, they killed them, but they have lost far too many people. Lin Ting did not employ the Hunters this time per request of this Professor Ang. And now that they got some of the monster's egg, he would want to get a beneficial negotiation with the guy.
The information he has gotten his hands right now is very beneficial for his future growth. Now that he knows the last element in making a Hunter, he feels so excited.

But then it happened.
Something broke through the window and landed on the table.
When the people inside the room saw what it is, they all showed fear in their eyes.

Before anyone could say anything, the grenade exploded.
The entire room was riddled with shrapnel coming from the grenade which hit almost everyone.
The most unlucky one is Professor Ang who was blasted to the wall while some parts of his body were shredded into pieces.
The others around him suffered the same fate, while Lin Ting and his bodyguards did too. However, Lin Ting was saved by one of his bodyguards who blocked the blast.
Everyone was sent flying to the walls and some were even thrown to the street down below.
The explosion was too loud that everyone in the other rooms began shouting.
No one dared to stay in this place as the people outside began to run out in panic.
Meanwhile, inside the private room where Lin Ting is staying a figure suddenly appears.

Inside the room dimly lit by the neon light outside, the smell of burnt things wafted through the air along with the thick smell of blood and other substances. The nauseating feel of the murky air is uncomfortable but not enough to make me puke.
As I lay my eyes on the people around the room, I could see many of them are wounded heavily, while many corpses are lying on the ground.
In the corner of my eyes, I noticed someone crawling out of the door dragging his wounded body. From one glance I could tell that this person is Lin Ting.

I heard a loud noise from the side and I could something hitting my side. The force is great but not enough to wound me, I guess. However, it caught me off-guard and I was sent staggering to the side.
Then I noticed that someone is actually faking his death while lying on the side and a pistol is hidden on the clothes of another person's dead body.
I could see that the man is going to shoot again. I wanted to dodge, but it was too late.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The rapid gunshot erupted in the air as the man emptied his clip.
At this time, I was a bit astonished. I already know that fire could not hurt me, and now it seems that regular bullets could also not hurt me.
But my constitution stats fell to 9/70%...

The bullets began flying towards my previous location, but some are now flying in the direction where I just dodge.
I did not have time to think as I quickly move my body to dodge the flying bullets all around me.

The armed guards of the club have already reached the private room and saw them crawling figure of Lin Ting their boss. One of them immediately grabbed him and drags him towards the corner.
"Get me out of here!" said Lin Ting in a low voice.
Before they could move, they heard the sound of a gun from the private room. Lin Ting smile at this time as he knew that one of his bodyguards has shot the culprit. But then this was followed by a series of gunshots which made Lin Ting smile more under the pain he is feeling.
But then they heard someone crying in pain inside the room.
This made Lin Ting feel that something is wrong. So he immediately commanded his men to take him away.
As they turn around, they suddenly heard the people in the corridor shooting.
"Hurry!" Lin Ting said as he was carried by two large men.
They immediately arrive in the elevator and press the button.
"Come on! Open up!" Lin Ting shouted in agitation.
He did not want to die in this place. He is suspecting that Yu Bai has discovered his dealing with Professor Ang and wanted to silence him.
"Damn you… Yu Bai… This is your doing, right?" he muttered under his breath.
Suddenly, he heard the crying sound of his men from behind him.
With great horror, he turns around and looks at the corridor.
His men continuously shot their guns, but it seems that the person is not dying. Then he saw blood splattering all over the place.
Then he saw one of his men reloading his rifle, but before he could do anything he flew back as his head was hit by a flying knife.
Lin Ting saw that man was nailed to the wall and this made his expression turned pale.
"A Hunter… Damn it!" he cursed.
It seems that this Hunter that was sent to kill him is stronger than those three bodyguards of his.
The corridor is now silent while the two large men beside him have already taken out their guns.
"Lin Ting! Where are you?..." a voice that seems to sound eerie in the hearing of Lin Ting and his men made them quiver in fear.
What kind of person can escape a barrage of gunfire? What kind of powerful being are they going to face right now? Since last year, many things have changed in this world. However, before that man could turn around, a sharp knife suddenly appears out of his mouth.
The two inside the elevator were shocked. The other big guy lifted his gun, but then his hand was suddenly grabbed and crushed.
Argghhh!!!
The man cried in pain.
Then a sharp knife was suddenly embedded in his jaw hitting his brain in the process.
Lin Ting on the side is now shaking in fear. He did not expect that he would experience such a thing in his life. He has lived leisurely and without troubles. He commanded the Serpent Gangs and has employed a number of Hunters. But of course, he is just a manager, not the real boss. But his life is already good.
As the son of the former vice leader of the Hallowed Leaf Syndicate, he is feared by his thugs.
But it seems that everything would end today.

They saw a body lying on the ground but no one is inside the elevator.
They quickly checked the elevator and saw that the small opening at the roof of the elevator is open.
"They are on the second floor!" shouted the guy who checked the elevator.
The rest of the men suddenly run towards the stairs. While everyone is rushing towards the stairs, the man inside the elevator suddenly felt his consciousness fading.
This is because a knife is already embedded at the back of his skull.
Xin Wei suddenly appears behind him.
Then rapid gunshot began to echo in the lobby.
After about 20 minutes of the gunfight, the lobby turned silent.
Right at this moment, a single figure could be seen standing in the middle of the lobby filled with dead bodies everywhere.
On his hand is the unconscious Lin Ting.
Meanwhile, outside the Dancing Swan Club, the sound of the police sirens are echoing in the air as many police cars arrive at the location.
