After the battle, a lot of lifeless bodies are lying on the ground. The remaining Hunters were able to escape the scuffle with heavy wounds on their bodies, while the army residing inside the tall building decided to chase after them.

The deadly combat left the two parties with a lot number of casualties. Unknown or known to the two parties the one being chased by the Hunters is currently inside another ruined building not too far from the area.

Carrying an unconscious man on his shoulder the figure carefully descended from the roof and crawled inside one of the ruined rooms.

It did not take long before a blood-curdling scream of a person began to echo through the city blocks. This caused the people living near the area and even the patrolling guards to feel fear upon hearing that scream.

The guards wanted to investigate, but they have also heard of the battle between the nearby base and the Hunters of the Syndicate. So no one dares come close to the location of that scream for fear of getting involved in the fight.

The screaming lasted for 30 minutes until it stopped and the silence of the night resumes its tranquility.

Meanwhile, atop the tall building of one of the bases of Oslong Syndicate where Xin Wei left Xiao Rin, she is carefully watching what is happening on the ground with a binocular. When she saw the explosion and the retreat of the 6 Hunters, she frowns.

But she continues watching the scene below.

Suddenly from the rooftop, a shadow appears which surprised her upon seeing who that person was. She was thoroughly dumbfounded upon looking at that figure and it made her speechless.

The figure tosses something to her and then vanished into the air.

She caught the thing and then looks at it. Her eyes turned a bit misty upon seeing it, but she did not say anything. She carefully puts the thing in her ear and listens to the person speaking at the other end of the line.

It took a while before her expression turned complicated and then she just lowers her head and a blank expression appears afterward.

She clenched her fist and bit her lower lip while looking in the direction of the person that disappeared. Her eyes turned misty as anger could be seen on them.

Then before she could recover, she heard some movements on the building walls which startled her. She immediately hides behind a metal box that looks like a ruined air vent.

"Hey… Who do you think those guys are chasing after?" the voice of a man said as the two of them appears from the creaky emergency stairs on the side.

"I don't know. But the boss told us to check the roof. Maybe those people are hiding here."

"Haha… How could they get up here without us noticing? This is crazy…"

"Haha! Well, we can't argue with the boss, we just have to check it then. I want to go back and enjoy my night with my new partner… Haha…"

"You're lucky. The boss gave you a new woman. For me, I just have to get used to the old one. She is like a dead soul, no fun at all…"

"You're a crazy maniac, how can she not lose her sanity? You should always take good care of your woman, look at me, I would always enjoy their company and of course, they would also enjoy me… Haha…"

The discussion of the two made Xiao Rin sneer while looking at them sneakily.

"Boss, the roof is clear…" one of the two men reported.

But suddenly one of them noticed something. His eyes are directed towards the location where Xiao Rin is hiding.

The heart of Xiao Rin began beating fast.

"No… did they discover me? I'm not even moving… This is bad… this is bad… Please… Please save me… Xin Wei… Help…" she thought as she closes her eyes.

She could feel the two men walking near her with their rifles pointing in her direction.

The two vigilantly drew closer and closer until there are only a few meters from where Xiao Rin is hiding. Her heart began beating so fast that it almost leaps off her chest. She just closes her eyes and prays that the two did not discover her.

But her hope was dashed when one of the men suddenly called out.

"Come out! If you don't come out, we will shoot!" the man said as he lifted his rifle and prepares to shot.

Meow!!!

The two were startled and were about to shoot when they saw that it was only a cat.

"Damn it! I thought it was a person… I should just kill that cat!"

"Hey, don't waste your bullet… Let's get out of this place."

The two left and Xiao Rin felt that a heavy load was lifted out of her chest. She carefully patted her chest and slowly leaned on the wall.

"I thought I was done for…" she muttered to herself as her mind once again thought of that figure that appeared just now.

She was indignant at the thing that the man said in the headset. She wanted to go against them; she did not want to follow what they wanted her to do. But how could she do that? She just wanted to be away from this place, from this hell.

She just wanted everything to go back to normal, to live a normal life, not like this hell that she is living right now.

But how could she? Her life is not in their hands. And she is powerless before their might. If she did not follow what they wanted from her, then the possibility of her demise is apparent. Complicated thoughts run through her mind as she tried to analyze the things she has to do.

Then her mind remembers that young man who is very kind and gentle towards her. She is like her son before he became a bastard just like his father. Her son was the most precious person in her life before all this. He is her life, but it all turned out to be fruitless.

Her son pushes her deeper into desperation and even shunned and abandoned her like someone who carries a plague. She was deeply hurt, and now he is even hurting her badly that she could not think to care anymore.

While she was contemplating as such, a voice suddenly interrupted her thought.

"My… my… what a beautiful kitty we have here…"

Xiao Rin's expression changes as she suddenly backs away from the wall and then quickly stood up to face two armed men who are looking at her with their lecherous gazes.

It seems that the two have been watching her for a while now, and their lascivious smiles made her skin felt cold and the hair on the back of her neck stand on end.

"Missy, don't you dare do anything dangerous now. We are just here to have fun… Nothing to worry about at all. If you cooperate, you might even enjoy it." one of the men said with a teasing smile.

Xiao Rin was feeling a bit helpless right now. But how could she not know the dangerous situation she is in? But of course, her emotion immediately calmed down as she has already encountered such a situation while living in this wasteland.

She slowly lifted her hands up while shaking. Her reaction and the slight jiggling of her bosom made the two men lewd smiles even wider. Right now they almost could not stop themselves from jumping unto the clean and attractive looking woman.

"P… Please… I… I was… I was left here by my companion… I mean no harm…" she said with a shaking voice.

"Hehe… Don't worry little missy, we won't hurt you…" said one of the men as he walks near her.

He carefully caressed her chin and showed satisfaction in his eyes.

"A grade-A woman indeed… I can't wait to have a taste of you… Hehe…"

"Hey… let's decide who goes first…" the other man said with a disgruntled expression.

"No way… I will go first then you…"

"Wait… how about we go together…"

The two seem to arrive with a tacit understanding without concern of the woman in front of them.

"No… please… don't." Xiao Rin said with a pleading gaze.

But when the two men saw her expression; instead of feeling pity for her, their wild animal instinct seem to have suddenly been ignited.

Xiao Rin could even see the slowly bulging thing below their belts which made her feel disgusted. But she did not show it on her face. She just pleaded towards them as she even kneels to the ground.

And her action was like the last straw that draws their self-control to its end. She was too beautiful and too attractive for them. And seeing her kneeling made the two armed men almost lose their sanity and immediately pounce on her.

Upon seeing this, a slight smile appears on Xiao Rin's dainty little mouth. When she was grabbed by the two men, she quickly closes her eyes and everything immediately went dark.

The shadow lurking on the side saw Xiao Rin closing her eyes and the two men suddenly fell to the ground. About a minute has passed and then Xiao Rin slowly stood up and then looks at the two men who are still sleeping with smiles on their faces.

That figure was dumbstruck as he did not know what just happened. Then he saw her grabbing a knife from one of the men and then she immediately uses it to end the two men's lives with ease.

Xiao Rin carefully looks around and then checks the body of the men. She then drags those two to the side and then covers them with some of the debris to hide their corpses.

After that, she puts their weapons in the bad which is on the side, and then continues waiting.

The shadow wanted to walk out but decided to wait as he wanted to see what would happen next.

Soon, he was astonished to notice a figure suddenly flashing and appearing on the rooftop.

"Auntie Rin… you've encountered some trouble?" Xin Wei asked with concern in his eyes.

"Yeah, but it's nothing that I can handle. You know I can hypnotize people, right? They thought they were sleeping with me… Haha… Fools…" Xiao Rin chuckled.

Xin Wei just nodded his head and then walks to the side where the bodies are.

"The smell of blood is thick… We should not stay here…" Xin Wei suddenly turns to the side but did not do anything.

I could tell that there is someone on the rooftop, even though he could hide in the shadows I can still pick his smell up. But it seems that this person is not a threat to Auntie Xiao Rin, so I did not want to stir trouble and let him be.

As long as he did not threaten me and Auntie Xiao Rin then it would be fine.

"Your skill is really helpful in surviving…" I said while trying to observe the reaction of the one hiding in the shadows.

I am exposing a lot of openings right now and am waiting for that guy to attack me. However, it seems that he is really not intending to do anything.

"Of course, if I did not have this skill, then my body would have been ravaged by those people in the club that I was working on before…" Auntie Xiao Rin seems to be a little talkative today as she retells me the story of how her family treated her and how she survives in the underworld.

"We have to go now, Auntie…" I said with a teasing smile.

You are here to avenge your loved ones. After this, you have no one… Then maybe, I can be your... mother…" Auntie Xiao Rin said with a faint smile.

I was a bit taken aback and did not know what to say.

"How… How about your… family?" I asked with a hint of hesitation.

Auntie Xiao Rin looks at the sky and then heaves a deep sigh. She then showed an expression where she is trying not to cry.

"They have abandoned me… Do you still think they would try and find me? Plus after what they did to me, I would rather start a new life than waste it to those ingrates…" she said as tears slowly flow down her eyes.

She clenches her fist and then suddenly grabs something on her ears. Then she threw it away.

It was as if she has already made up her mind. She would not be used by those people again and would rather protect the person that showed her compassion and kindness than agree with those selfish bastards.

"Your life would be in danger then…" I asked as my opinion about her began to be more favorable.

I knew what is happening in this place as I have already arrived and just wanted to observe. I have been watching all this time, but she did not obey the voice on the other end of the line. She was threatened with her life but she did not budge.

So I knew that I have to help her. Whoever was hiding in the shadows, that person seems to know Auntie Xiao Rin.

But since I knew of her feelings, I would not let them hurt her. If she could act like my foster parent, then that would be fine with me.

"I don't care… I think you knew what they wanted." She said with a sad expression.

I did not say anything and suddenly extended my hand and with the acupuncture needle hit the acupoints near her neck. Then I suddenly grab my knife to slice her left neck a small capsule-like object flew out. Then I hit another of her acupoints and block the blood vessel.

In this process, Auntie Xiao Rin was showing scared expression. Then her eyes saw something flying and then that object suddenly burst.

Puff!

The small explosion is nothing as it detonates in the air. However, once it detonates on her neck, then she would surely die.

I grab some suture kit inside my first aid pocket and then slowly suture the wound on her neck. After applying the bandage, I showed a faint smile.

"Sorry, I have to distract you. I did not know what would happen if I did not act immediately." I said with a slight smile.

I look in the direction of the person in the shadows. That person is not there anymore but I could feel that his emotion is rather unstable when he left. I did not know what is happening, but I have an inkling that the person is involved with Auntie Xiao Rin somehow.

The two of us left the rooftop as we continue traveling for the whole night.

It was almost dawn when I suddenly pick up something in the air and I felt a pleasant feeling as I followed that direction.

Meanwhile, when Xiao Rin and Xin Wei left the rooftop, the person hiding in the shadows once again appear. The eyes of that person are red as traces of tears could be seen in them.

He stood there without saying anything and just look at the place where Xiao Rin was standing a while ago. He slowly clenches his fist and then opens it, but he seems to be not contented as he once again clenches them tightly.

He left a while ago because he could tell that the young man could seem to detect his presence. Although that young man acted as if he did not see him, yet his instinct is telling him that he is already discovered.

So he decided to leave the place for a while and jumped to another building. When he noticed them leaving, he came back and then stood in the same place while musing over the discussion he heard. That discussion made his heart feel a bit hurt as he himself was dumbfounded at what he discovered.

"She… She actually did not sell herself… She… She did not lower herself and become the woman that I think she was… I… I made a mistake. I should not have turned my back away. I should not have scorned her… It was all our fault anyway… But… But I was too consumed by guilt and tried to push everything to her." he muttered in a low voice.

"If only… If only… I could have… *sob *sob…" the person in the shadows began to sob as he kneeled on the ground feeling deep remorse and anger for himself.

He then turns his gaze towards the direction where Xiao Rin and the young man left, then balled his hand into a fist.

"But I cannot let others take you away from me… You are mine… You can only be my mother and no one else!" he muttered as his gaze turned angry and a burning glare was sent towards a certain direction.
