Capítulo 11: Looming Danger

"Are you okay, Mr Edison?" He asked as he tried to pull away from him. "Mr Edison, what a reli-" he tried to say but the way the man grabbed him told him that something was amiss. He tried to take his hands off but Mr Madison grabbed him even tighter. He turned back to the rest of his colleagues and spoke to them in a voice filled with panic. "Please help me, something is not right about him, please help me." The teachers instead of helping him stepped back as the man begged and begged. Mr Madison stood up and brought him closer before bending his neck.

When that was done he was not the man just in the same way that the man at the gate had done. He was petrified. The other teachers turned and started to run, fleeing for their lives as they were filled with terror instantly. Shiro could not believe his eyes. He could not believe what he was seeing. The bite was so disgusting that Mr Edison had even bitten through the teacher's neck so that the victim's head was bending to one side.

The texts were right and we're here to help him, he thought as he continued to stare at them in shock. When Mr Edison was done biting him, he let go of the man who fell to the floor immediately. He fell and lay there lifelessly. Just as he was about to turn back and run so he could inform everyone of what was happening, Mr Edison turned towards him and screamed. The scream didn't sound human. It sounded so esoteric and guttural like that of a demon. It instantly brought fear upon him.

He began to shake, not believing what he was seeing. Selena should probably look in her class, he thought. He needed to save her and get her out of this place immediately. He prayed that she would be in her class when he got there and not doing some stupid test in the school lab. He turned around immediately, his heart pounding as he ran. He felt the adrenaline surge through his blood. He also felt a bit free and his sight had been heightened. He couldn't stop wondering what had happened.

Could that be the power of the Mark on his hand? He did not know what it was but whatever it might be, he prayed that thing would help him escape the chaos that was about to fall upon the world. He ran up the stairs immediately and sprinted towards the class. He burst through the class, interrupting the lesson. He looked straight at her desk and thankfully she was there hunched over a large textbook.

"Jacob. Couldn't you just skip class, could you? You had to disturb others' learning environment too!" His teacher screamed at him when he got into the class. He did not care about the teacher or whatever he had to tell at that moment, he was bent on taking Selena out of the class immediately after what he had seen. He walked back to the classroom, utterly terrified with his heart racing wildly.

"Come on, we're getting out of here." He said as he got to her and grabbed her hand. She let him at first because she was not aware that he was going to do that. She was about to stand when she noticed what was happening. She adjusted her glasses and looked up to see who it was.

Her brows arched immediately after she saw Shiro. She looked around surprised, wondering what had gotten over him. She couldn't speak then because she was too shocked to speak. Her eyes widened before she asked him

"W-what? What is the problem, why are you grabbing me like that?" She said, looking around to see how everybody was watching them. Her voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke to him. Shiro hardened his grip on her hand and was about to drag her out of the class when Klaus interrupted him. So the rumour was true, he thought as he gazed at Klaus. He had heard rumours that Klaus was her new boyfriend.

"What's going on Shiro?" Klaus asked and held back his arm, trying to keep his voice down as low as possible.

The class had now started murmuring, enjoying what was about to unfold in front of them. The teacher had been standing there ever since, he was too shocked to speak. Shiro looked around again before he told Klaus what had exactly happened. "Some people at the school got just got killed. It's too dangerous to stay here." He said to her but she didn't seem to believe him, instead, a look of disgust filled her face immediately. She thought he was acting as a result of the drugs she rumoured him to take.

She thought that he had gone mad but the look on his face was dead serious. She was embarrassed that he had distracted her and all he could tell at the end was some flimsy, stupid joke. She was concerned that he had begun to see things these days, things that only he could see. No one else saw these things except him.

It was dangerous to continue having him around her or he would surely harm her someday. She kept thinking about what to do as they stood there. She tried to take his hands off her but he was persistent and was bent on dragging her out of the class. "Seriously?" She said, at last, scowling at him as she was no longer able to hide her embarrassment.

"What would I stand to gain from lying about this?" He asked her, still looking dead serious. She glanced around nervously and locked eyes with the people who were looking at them. She felt so embarrassed. She growled at him to leave her but he persisted. She began to force his hands away but he grabbed her harder and began to pull her away.
