Starting at him with wide eyes, Embarrassed by her reaction to a simple act like this. Petal avoided his eyes as she picked up the glass of water to drink from it, pretending like nothing happened, though they both were past the Embarrassment state of their relationship. 

Ethan smiled as he watched her nervously hold the water glass with both hands, trying her best to not look at him. He thought of how cute she looked right now as he stared down at her.

Ethan thanked the heavens for listening to his prayers for the past two years. He asked for another chance to fix all the mistakes he had made and promised that he would protect her.

But having her in his arms right now, a part of him was still worried that she might close her eyes again and never wake and he will be forced to feel that unbearable pain and sadness again.
