On Wednesday, he received an unexpected invitation for Friday night from Miles, Phil's brother-in-law from the sports bar. They had exchanged numbers but nothing had come of it until now. 

Apparently, his friends wanted to do a specific escape room that required at least eight people and they were one short. He had nothing better to do so he figured he would go.
