I held my hand against my mouth, holding back the nauseous feeling from overtaking me as I began feeling extremely nervous. Perhaps noticing my discomfort, Cain clasps his hand over mine.

The warmth from his palm spread across the back of my hand as I felt myself gradually relaxing. He lowers his head to meet my gaze, his eyes full of concern as he asks me if I was feeling alright.

I held back my tears and nodded as the anxiety from earlier melted away at the sight of his warm gaze. He offered to get me a warm drink to soothe my upset stomach but I held him back with a hand to his forearm as he sat back into his seat and held my gaze.

"I… I'm fine now…" I cup his hand with the other when he pats the back of my hand with his other hand to reassure me.
