"Princess Aria, please calm down." Lady Leah covered her ears, cushioning the effects of the earsplitting scream.
"I was undressed!" Princess Aria zoned out once more, speaking to herself in a dazed manner.
"What is happening here?" King Zane slammed the door open, his breathing erratic.
"Your Majesty!" Lady Leah's eyes bulged at the sudden intrusion by none other than the King himself.
°Was he running? How did he know it came from this direction?° Lady Leah wondered in a split of a second.
"I was-" Lady Leah latched her hands onto Princess Aria's lips, muffling her words before she could complete them.
"Shh!" Lady Leah hissed, pushing the dazed Princess behind her, she put on a big smile for the King.
"I said what is happening here?" The towering height of the King more intimidating as he narrowed his eyes. He hated repeating his words, but this had to be an exception.
"Nothing is happening here." Lady Leah gulped down as she felt a sharp pain course through her palm to her body. "Why are you here, Sire?"
°Did she just bite me?° Lady Leah ignored the pain, the smile still shining bright as ever as she tackled Princess Aria behind her.
"Do I have to answer to you?" King Zane replied coldly, looking to the side, "What's wrong with her?" His brows relaxed turning into one of worry.
"The Princess isn't feeling too well, please give us few minutes, we would be ready for the dinner." Lady pleaded.
"Who are you referring to as not being well?" Princess Aria protested, finally getting a grip on reality, pulling Lady Leah's hand off her mouth.
Princess Aria held her head, looking up she was met with a shocked expression from Zane.
°What's with that look?° Princess Aria sneered.
King Zane's eyes trailed down her blue bodycon mini dress, gulping down hard, he forced his eyes to look away. Clearing his throat, he pulled on his collar.
°You should not get distracted!° King Zane cautioned his eyes, closing them for a few seconds before opening them again.
"Are you alright?" King Zane asked in a worry. "For the dinner that is." He added, hoping they didn't realize how smitten he was.
"I'm fine!" Princess Aria walked in front of Lady Leah in a defensive stance, "The person you should be concerned about, is her." She pointed at Leah.
Jumping back in shock, Lady Leah shook her head, waving her hands frantically as the King's gaze met hers. "You don't need to worry about me, Sire!" She nudged the Princess in the ribs.
"Hey!" Princess Aria protested, "I'm trying to defend you, no one bullies my lady-in-waiting, except me!"
King Zane raised an eyebrow at the Princess, "And what do you propose I do then?" He folded his arms.
"You apologise!" Princess Aria shrugged. "It's not that hard to say, is it?" She challenged.
Lady Leah shrieked in surprise, hiding behind the Princess, not willing to meet the gaze of the King.
°I knew it! Princess Aria would be the death of me!° Lady Leah trembled in fear.
"I'm sorry for my behavior." Lady Leah's head shot up at the sound of King Zane apologizing but something wasn't right, he was not looking at her but at Princess Aria. "Is that alright?" He directed his attention back to Lady Leah.
Tiny shock waves coursed through her body as the King's mesmerizing emerald eyes met her hazel's, "Ummm... I... ummm..." Lady Leah stammered as her brain couldn't process words at the moment.
"No!" Princess Aria interjected, "How can you apologise to someone but your attention is on me?"
"Does that matter?" King Zane questioned in a monotone voice.
"You would have to apologise, again!" Princess Aria wiggled her brows. "And correctly, this time."
°Please! No!° Lady Leah's thoughts screamed.
°Why did I make up my mind to step foot here? Why did I care? All I did was invite trouble by coming here° King Zane sighed, wiping his face in frustration.
"I am sorry!" King Zane looked squarely at Lady Leah.
"Much better! Now that's a good boy." Princess Aria clapped her hands, laughing heartily.
King Zane brows twitched in annoyance at being treated as a pet.
"If that is all, I will be off then," he turned to leave, "don't be late!" He reminded.
"Whatever you say Zane!" Princess Aria waved her hands in the air, calling back in a singsong voice.
Closing the door, the wall tremored due to the force used.
*Slam*
"You can breathe now." Princess Aria patted the back of Lady Leah.
"Princess Aria!" Lady Leah exclaimed, shaking her slightly. "How could you do that to me?"
"What did I do?" Princess Aria rose her hand in defense, enjoying the moment.
"You-" Lady Leah brought up her fingers in a strangling gesture.
"Did you hear that?" Princess Aria cupped her ears, ignoring the boiling embarrassment from Leah. "We should get going for the dinner." She pulled Lady Leah towards the door.
"Wait..." Lady Leah pulled her hand off from Princess Aria.
"What now?" Princess Aria whined in frustration. "We are going to be late!"
"Your shoes!" Lady Leah deadpanned, looking at the Princess bare feet. "Your hair!" Lady Leah shook her head at the mess of a hair on the Princess' scalp.
"Oh!" Princess Aria facepalmed, playing with her feet, picking at her hair.
