Capítulo 3: Head-on battle

Among this very chaotic situation, A1 saw five figures entering her peripheral vision. These five people quickly crawled to the nearest blind spot. Despite hiding from the situation, the five of them did not have any bit of fright or panic. Their eyes held a strong determination, firmness. coldness and a suffocating murderous aura.

The five were non other than Z, G3, I8, V9 and U6. The five of them remained hidden while killing few Al-Qaeda members, who they think will be quite dangerous. without any ounce of hesitation. I8 was scouting in amidst of all dangers, while V9 and U6 were having his back. But soon, I8 had to split up with them because the rest of the four had to start engaging in the fight since it was getting more and more messy.

I8 and M7 were the one who were in charge of looking out for the Chinese hostages. The rest watched their back. M7 was partnered up with A1, resulting in coming to the base earlier than the rest of their team. This meant that he already analysed the structure of the base and he might possibly have any ideas on where the hostages are due to the constant security measures in a specific area. But I8 came late, so he had to finish scouting amidst the battle.

As for A1, she was the sniper and she was also the only one accompanying M7. Which means that she needed to be at the lookout for sniping spots and also watch M7's back while he continue to move forward with their plans. So naturally, I8 and A1 would be the ones who were in the most danger among the 7 of them.

Their plan required everyone to play their parts well and cooperate with each other. So, the rest of the men could do nothing but watch each other's back. And they knew A1 and I8 were more than capable to keep themselves safe.

Fortunately, the Pakistan army was very fierce. They brought all their light weapons out and bombed a safe place out for A1 and her team.

The Al-Qaeda group's firearms couldn't be compared with the Pakistan army. They were preparing to leave this particular base today according to the intel, so all their firearms were gathered at one location.

Due to lack of firearms, the Al-Qaeda group split up their firearms. There was a lag time when they were distributing the firearms do the Pakistan army managed to control the situation.

This made I8's life easier.

There was no map with him so he had to find his way all by himself. Then as the one in charge of telling the routes to M7 and the rest, he would draw the map out and tell his comrades what path they should take.

There was a rumbling sound in the sky and soon, a transport plane appeared from the East, as it headed north. It was a big plane, not a bomber or a fighter jet. The plane that transported the Pakistani forces has driven back.

"That's interesting. The Pakistani government had sent a transport plane over to attract the attention of Al-Qaeda members, making it easier for us. This is enough motivation of us to work hard." U6 chuckled, without any sort of pressure like a carefree man. Like a cow chewing a piece of grass leisurely.

The sound of the transport plane was loud enough for anyone within a few miles to hear, attracting all the attention of the Al-Qaeda members. Good that there was no anti-craft weapons. If there was, it was enough to send it crashing down the ground, killing everyone in the progress.

Despite knowing the dangers, the Pakistani forces came over. They wanted A1's team to succeed in their current mission and so they are doing everything in their power to let the hostage come out alive. It also reduced the danger for the 7 of them.

Sure enough, Al-Qaeda members saw the big shadow above them and swept the sky with machine gun bullets.

"What the f**k? There are nested machine gunners." V9 exclaimed with his colourful vocabulary amidst all the bullet rains.

"Language old man. And did you just admit that you did not see that machine gunners before?" A1 asked with a deadly calm voice, causing V9 to break out in cold sweat. The rest of the team silently prayed for V9's soul to rest in peace.

"I--I-I was busy saving U6's ass." V9 relied, stuttering. He was hoping that A1 would believe his words but he clearly knew that was just a sweet wish which is impossible. He knew that he would face hell when they return to their country.

"My head's almost blown up and you guys still have the time to talk about V9's terrible reconnaissance skills?" I8 quickly sent his position to M7, "I will retreat and group up with A1 while G3 and Z go to save M7's ass."

A1 immediately sent her position to I8 and waited for I8 to come her way.

"These M16s are quite good. It's light. Let's get some of these back." Z replied in between a tough battle of going inside the base in some side ways they discovered while analysing the base.

"Why? Did the HK416 somehow let you down?" G3 asked Z. They were both fighting side by side. Each of them were protecting each other's back.

Actually, the reason why they were using M16 were because the M16 rounds were much more compact than AK-47 which the Al-Qaeda were using. They were longer, lighter and weighed only 3.56 grams while AK-47 weighs about 7.91 grams. Just form the circumference of bullets, the M16 were much better than AK-47. You can carry more bullets. Moreover, everyone is now engaged at close-range fight. M16 is fast at close and medium-range shooting. It has high accuracy and it can penetrate armour, too.

At the same time, the bullets were lighter and they could bring more ammunition to the battlefield. There won't be an instance where one would run out of bullets while fighting.

And the HK416 G3 mentioned was one of the best as well. They are somewhat better than M16 but they could only get this M16 in Pakistan at that time.

Even after this time, the gunfire from the government forces was still strong and they were only getting fiercer. Meanwhile, gunfire from Al-Qaeda was not any less. They were also matching the government's pace, posing a problem for them. A1 or her team understood that they could not get any help from the Pakistani government since they were fiercely engaging in a head on battle. They had to go by themselves!
