Capítulo 16: Etiquette

Allen heard constant knocking on his door as he heard a little voice calling him young master constantly. Feeling annoyed, he pulled his blanket over his head. "5 minutes ." once he said that, the constant calling stopped as they left the room in silence.

He pushed himself to wake up and looked around the room in confusion. The left side of his room was filled with bookshelves, he was sure that they weren't there yesterday. How could he be able to sleep through all the noise? More importantly, who put books in his room? Allen wasn't complaining, just confused.

Allen ruffled his hair as he got ready with the clothes that were placed beside his bed neatly. He took a shower as he struggled to put on the clothes. It was a white button up shirt that had ruffles down the collars along with a pair of short red pants.

Looking at himself, he felt like he was missing an item. Allen noticed a brooch that he didn't see before as he picked it up. It was made of gold and a gemstone in the middle along with his initial, along with rose designs surronding a dragon. The symbol of Drakos Kingdom. He pinned the brooch on his shirt as he admired the shine.

Staring for a while as he attempted to fix his messy slightly wavy hair. Suddenly, he heard 3 knocks on his door as they asked permission to enter. "Young Master, we have your breakfast ready."

"Come in." he politely said as he sat down on the bed and the maid brought a table and a plate over to him. Looking down at the food, he noticed that his utensils were not there.

"I'm sorry but you seem to have forgotten my utensils..?" he remarked to the three maids that stood at the door glaring at him.

"There's a fork there." one of the maid replied as she pointed to a fork that was hidden under a cloth.

"The spoon please" he asked with a polite tone as he smiled at the maids, he was sure that it was just a minor mistake on their part.

"Can't you just drink the soup from the bowl?" the same maid replied, this time the two maid beside her immediately nudged her. "He may be a child but he's still royalty" the other whispered quietly as possible.

"He's simply made a royalty on a wim, meaning he isn't significant in any way. Besides, what could a mere child do? I've been a trusted maid here for quite a while, who would believe a child over me?" she said back, without even attempting to hide it from Allen.

"I'm just a child..?." his tone had completely change in a blink of an eye. "Come over here please." it may have sounded polite but the maids could sense anger hidden beneath his kind manners.

The maid glared at him as she laughed. "Do you really th-"

"Are you deaf, or simply an idiot?" he said with a cold tone, his patience running thin.

The maid meekly walked over as she reassured herself that she had much higher authority than a mere child.

Allen grabbed the bowl of soup as he used his fire affinity that was weak as he had never used it often but he could still make quite a fire. He heated up the soup as the maid walked over to his table, he lifted the bowl and splashed it on her making her scream in pain as she fell on her knees as she covered her face.

The other maid attempted to help her but was stopped by Allen's deadly stare. They freezed in their tracks and walked back to their positions.

The door barged open as a man with white hair and glasses with a suit came in with a worried expression on his face. "May I ask what happened here?" he asked after seeing maid on the floor with hot water spilled all over her as people behind him helped her up.

"I heard a commotion over here, I apologize for barging in Young master Allen" he bowed down as he waited for Allen to say something, he soon realized his mistake as he bowed even lower. "I apologize I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself, I am the head butler of the Drakos Household."

"It's quite understanable for why you would barge in." he replied as he stood up and walked towards the butler, his tone becoming much friendlier.

"May I ask what has happened here?" he asked with a soft tone being careful not to offend Allen.

"Ah, it just seems that my maid... can't seem to get the hang of her work." he said with a disappointed tone.

"My deepest condolences, it seems that she needs more training. I'll prepare another meal to be brought up for you." he said as he backed away respectfully and left the room.

Allen sighed as his face relaxed, he had never spoken to an adult like he was far more superior than them ever. It made him uncomfortable but it needed to be done. It was necessary, as if he didn't assert his superiority he would be underestimated.

"Oh, please help me grab a book over there!" he asked the maid standing by the doorway with a happy tone and pointed to the shelves.

She nodded as he walked over the bookshelves, she wasn't sure what she should take as Allen's orders weren't too specific. She grabbed a history book and offered it to Allen, he seemed pleased and she breathe out a sigh of relief.

Allen finished his breakfast as he continued reading the history book, it intrigued him to the point where he had finished the thick book in an hour.

Just then a maid called out for him. "Young master Allen your tutor has arrived on the library."

Allen nodded and made his way to the library to see a woman with a huge purple hat and a fan with an elegant dress that showed off her wealth. She stood elegantly as he waited for him.

"Young master Allen, it's a pleasure to meet you." she said as she bowed down gracefully. "My name is Ms Valentine, I am your etiquette teacher."

Ms Valentine went to a table in the far east of the large library as she gestured for Allen to sit down. The library was filled with various different types of books that Allen stared in awe. Right across the front door of the library was a huge window that looked magnificent as roses surroded the window exterior.

Allen sat down and crossed his legs with his back straight as he looked at the tutor that was studying him. She smiled after a while and stood up and grabbed stack of books from a shelf and headed back to the table.

"Your seating posture is perfect. There are other options such as keeping your legs planted on the floor, with the knees 11-24 inches apart is the most "open", least defensive and least intimidating position. You can make a subconscious decision to cross your legs or lock your ankles like you are doing." she explained as she handed a book that wrote 'Dining Etiquette'.

"I want you to read this book for today, tonight you shall have dinner with the entire family and I would be present there to watch your manners. The rules in this book are an absolutely must to follow, for proper dining etiquette." she said strictly.

After a few hours, the etiquette lesson finished and Ms Valentine left the library. Allen rested in the chair for a while before reading the book that he was given.

Allen always had a hobby of reading books no matter what genre, in his orphanage they didn't had enough budget to provide him with books often. Being in a library that he could freely take books from and read was a great privilege for him. His memory was incredibly well as he could memorise any information that he had read before, it was one of his greatest talents.

Thus, reading the book and applying the instructions or information written were incredibly easy for him.
