Capítulo 8: I've got my babies!
*Back at the arrival at Little garden*
"Oh, did you already give up, Nami?" I hug Nami by her waist as Usopp is twitching on the floor from my slap.
"No!" She pushes herself out of my embrace.
"I'm just happy that you saved us from staying here for a year. Yea that's it!" She turns herself away while making excuses.
I shrug my shoulders and look at the time.
"So it's finally noon on the fifth day." I walk to the middle of the ship and extend my arms.
I feel for the two lasso's of Durin and Hephaestus extending into space, before grabbing and pulling on them.
With a thump a dwarf figure lands on the deck, this time in blacksmith clothes and carrying stacks of silver and light blue ingots.
The second womanly figure lands gracefully carrying a shoulder bag.
"Ah! Finally back again! Thee mountain is mah home, but the sea air sure feels good in thee lungs!" Durin drops the ingots on the floor while taking a few deep breaths.
"Yes, the city air can get quite stale as well compared to this. Oh, you got us land to work with! Better than burning down a ship." Hephaestus looks at the island.
"Yea, do be careful though. Dinosaurs, aka giant ass lizards are roaming here, not to mention ancient diseases." I warn them.
"OH! CAN WE GO ON A HUNT?! I haven't had a good workout for thee whole latter half of the first age!" Durin flexes his muscles in anticipation.
"Maybe later. A 'friend' will soon come pick us up." I grin because I can't wait to see the faces they will make seeing a giant.
"Friend???" Nami looks at me already feeling danger on the horizon.
"Do you have any ale?" A voice booms from the jungle.
Everyone looks at the giant figure shoving aside the trees to look at us.
Nami and Usopp just freeze on the spot, dread already descending on their faces.
"And here he is!" Lynx
"Oh! He is quite big, no? Must have a big heart too! Hehehe! Braum chuckles as he looks at Broggy.
"So you know a giant?" Hephaestus looks at me.
"OI BROTHER! Tell a fellow dwarf how ta get that big too!" Durin
Broggy looks at the humans weirdly.
"I'm not a dwarf, I am the giant Broggy! But do you have any ale?" Broggy asks again.
"Yes we have some if you are in need! Will you at least be our host on the island if we bring the booze?" I walk forward.
"Of cou-AAAARGH!" He screamed mid sentence, making everybody go into a battle stance.
"Is your ass okay?" I force myself not to laugh at Broggy with a T-rex biting his ass.
"Yea, just a moment!" He turns around and swings his axe decapitating the T-rex.
"You little bastard dare to embarrass me in front of my guests?! Behold the mightiest warrior of Elbaf! Broggy! Ho ho ho ho!" He laughs.
"We got meat now! Now we feast my little guests!" Broggy invites us.
"Lead the way warrior! We will bring the drink! Braum, help me carry a few barrels!" Lynx
"I'll take some of the milk too! No ale is better than it!" Braum
Broggy, Durin and Hephaestus look at him weirdly.
"You will taste it later, it hits harder than liquor." Lynx
They all nod with Durin picking up the ingots.
…
"GET DOWN YOU IDIOT!" Mikita yells at Luffy while floating in the air near him.
"Why? I wanna have my lunch up here!" Luffy
"Because even if it is gentle, it's still a dinosaur!" Vivi
"Don't worry. This guy just wants to eat grass. I bet he doesn't even know I am here. But never mind him. Look at the big caves over the-!" Luffy says when he is promptly flipped by the long neck dinosaur and swallowed whole.
*Swipe*
But as luck would have it, the giant decapitates the dinosaur, allowing Luffy to fall out of it. Mikita, Carue and Vivi all have their eyes bulged out in fear, with Mikita promptly descending to the floor, out of the prying eyes.
"HO HO HO HO HO!! Here is a lively human! I haven't had a guest in a while!!!!" Dorry catches the dropped Luffy.
"WOW!!! You are HUGE! Are you human?" Luffy looks excitedly at Dorry.
"HO HO HO HO HO!! I am Dorry and a giant! The mightiest warrior of Elbaf!" Dorry
Mikita lands near Vivi with a serious expression.
'Hubby hasn't mentioned any giants… does it have something to do with Baroque Works?' Mikita
"You are all invited to my place for a feast! Ho ho ho ho ho!!" Dorry looks at the distant trio so they can't just hide.
…
"HO HO HO!! There, it's ready! Eat!" Broggy offers us the giant roasted dinosaur meat.
We are currently sitting on a log in front of Broggy's cave as we waited for the roast.
"I… I'm not hungry." Nami stutters.
She and Usopp are too busy looking at the human bones.
"Don't mind if I do!" I rip a big chunk of meat off the roast.
"Shall we begin?" Braum follows my lead, but with an even bigger chink of meat.
"Mmm, dis sure smells nice! Remind meh of thee beginnings!" Durin
"Yup, this tastes much better than wyvern meat. Thank you!" Hephaestus.
"How can you be so relaxed???" Nami screams at us four.
"... Good food and company?" I look at her weirdly, gaining the laughs of Durin and Braum.
"That's thee spirit kid!" Durin slaps me over the shoulders.
"Mr. Broggy, can I… ask you a question?" Nami ignores us.
"Huh, what is it girl? You seem to not have the good spirit like these fellows over here." Broggy points at us four.
"Is it true that the log pose needs one year to reset here?" Nami
"One year!" Broggy
She sighs in relief remembering the eternal pose.
"Wait, do you not believe me? Or did you think I am lying?" I look at her stupidly, because I told her before.
"Um… As a navigator I need more than just one source of information." She looks away.
"Fine, now try some of this milk!" Me and Braum smile at Braggy, Durin and Hephaestus.
…
In front of Dorry's cave.
"This sure is good mr. Giant!" Luffy
"Hohohohoho!! Your pirate lunch box wasn't bad either. Just a bit lacking in quantity for a giant, though." Dorry
"Of course it's good! I'd knock you down if you didn't like it!!" Luffy
"Hohoho!! What a funny little feller!" Dorry laughs.
"Those two are like old friends…" Vivi
"Simple headed fellows get each other the most." Mikita eats the roast while looking bored at the two simpletons.
"By the way mister, how come you live all alone? Don't you have a village?" Luffy
"Yes, I come from a village. Elbaf, the village of warriors, but it's somewhere else on the Grandline. In my village we lived by a code." Dorry explains.
"When there is a dispute and neither side will yield, the god of Elbaf decides the matter. He always protects the one who is right, letting him live." Dorry
"We had a dispute and now I'm on this island with the other warrior. Whoever wins, will be right… and stay alive." Dorry
"BUT WE'VE BEEN AT BATTLE FOR A HUNDRED YERS BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN SETTLED!!! HOHOHOHO!" Dorry laughs at his own funny development.
"You've been fighting for a hundred years?!" Luffy
"Aw, that's nothing. Our life spans are three times as much as humans. Hohohoho!" Dorry
"Like I said, simpleminded fools." Mikita whispers to Vivi.
"Even if you do live that long wouldn't you lose your passion for battle? What's the point anymore then? Do you still want to kill each other?!" Vivi find such drawn out conflicts stupid.
*Boom*
The volcano erupts in the distance.
"Well, I'd better be going! We had decided that when that volcano erupts, it's the start of the next battle." Dorry
Vivi tries to complain about the two giants fighting each other for so long, but her mouth is covered by Luffy's palm.
"Quiet! That doesn't matter." Luffy
"True! It's a matter of our honor!" Dorry
The two giants meet in the distance.
"The reason we fight…!" Dorry
"Has been long forgotten!" Broggy
They clash with their weapons.
...
"So, you up for some forging?" I look at Durin and Hephaestus.
"Ya finally asked boy!" Durin grins.
"So you want to forge here?" Hephaestus asks.
"Yes, Heph!" Lynx
"Hm, cute nickname. I guess my name is a bother to say constantly." Heph
(AN: It's a bitch to write constantly, so I shortened it xD)
Heph walks to the hard rock ground at the entrance of the cave and swings her shoulder bag, littering out a forge, tools and other things you may need in forging.
"Alright, I am ready!" Heph
"Hey Heph, can you make me join your familia? It would be nice to get development abilities, skills and things to help in the forging process." Lynx
"Well I can do it on you… But not on Durin since I feel some other divinities on him." She looks at During
"Don't worry about meh, I would only like ta knoe about special techniques. Ya can pass them onto meh, right?" Durin
"Sure. Though development abilities and skills won't show from the start. You alright with that?" Heph
"That's to be expected, so let's do this first and then I'll pass the knowledge between us. Should make this collaboration be better." Lynx
I strip my shirt off and lie down on the log with my back facing upwards. Heph mounts me preparing to inject her falna.
"HEY! What are you doing?!" Nami screams while pointing at me and Heph.
"... Writing my status? She needs to inject a special energy and form it on my back." Lynx
"But why is she mounting you?!" Nami doesn't back off.
"Because it's easier to write like that. He can't move like this." Heph
"Grr, just do whatever!" Nami stomps away.
"What's her problem?" Durin points at her.
"A girl that isn't true to her feelings." Braum says while watching the process as Heph injects her Falna into me.
Glowing letters start to form on my back as they keep rearranging themselves. After some time they stay fixed and slowly disappear in my body.
"That was some pretty lights, now do ya feel any different?" Durin
"... I feel the same… But I'll be able to gather excelia to grow. Well, let's start with the forging! Think of the information needed for this and I'll trade the knowledge." Lynx
I start to extract their knowledge into me before sharing it between these two.
"Oh! Dis are smart ideas! Ye really are thee god of smithing!" Durin
"Thank you. I can see your mithril differs from my world's. Well let's start!" Heph

(I'm not a blacksmith, but I will describe the process and explain why it's like this. It wouldn't work in real life. But I'll gladly take some ideas from blacksmiths on this app.)
The three of us fall into the crafting trance as we discuss the process. Together we start heating up the mithril and ithildin. Bringing it out, Heph holds it with her tongs on the anvil, I place the flattening sledge hammer on top and Durin strikes it with the other sledge hammer.
Flattening out the mithril into thin sheets, we put them back into heat as we thin ithildin into wire. The wire is then weaved between the sheets of mithril and then hammered together.
Reheat, weave, sandwich, hammer, repeat. We continued this process until we had three sheets of mithril weaved with ithildin. The first two sheets were thinner at 5 mm and around 120 cm of length while the last one was thicker at around 50 mm and 140 cm.
The first two were hammered into the shape of shashka's, while the last had it's limbs thinned and extended. It became 180 cm long, from the middle 50 mm thickness it thinned to 10 mm at the ends and the whole bow varying it's wideness between 30 to 50mm.
Durin went to engrave runes into the outer metal. After discussing the shashka's got the ithildin runes singing about Nessa- a low ranked ainu but she is a dancer and very swift on foot. The bow got runes of her brother Oromë- a higher ranked ainu responsible for the hunt.
Durin then went to sharpen the blades while me and Heph made the two metals into as thin wires as possible before weaving them together into a string around a thicker wire of mithril.
Next was the heating and quenching. The sharpened blades had their front side heated with the backside left as cold as possible, so when we quench, the front will stay hard to handle the impacts and the back stays soft to handle the stress. The bow had it's front heated and quenched, the wire was left as it is, because it needs to stay flexible.
With difficulty we hardly string the bow. Thankfully the handles and pommel were easier to put on the shashka's.
The shashka's blades are light silver colored with light blue engraving shining over the whole blade. The handle is made from carved green dragon horns Heph has brought.
The bow is light silver with the same light blue engravings. The handle is wrapped in some nice battle boar leather, while the string is glowing in silvery blue radiance.

By the time we came out of the trance, it was already evening and both groups were here watching the process.
"Whoa Dorry! These guys really know how to make something beautiful!" Broggy
"That's right Broggy! I am kinda jealous of those swords! Hohohohoho!" Dorry
"Hohoho! You want to use them as toothpicks?" Broggy
"Hohohoho! That's the only thing they would serve as at that size!" Dorry
"WHOAAA!!! I WANNA TRY! I WANNA TRY!!!" Luffy looks at my new weapons.
"They are nice swords… Can't wait to clash with them!" Zoro grins.
"They are beautiful…" Vivi comes closer in admiration as she tries to touch one sabre.
"BE CAREFUL!!!" Durin screams at her, so she jumps back in fright.
"Girlie! These aren't made to be beautiful and for show! They are deadly!" Durin grabs one of them and effortlessly falls a meter thick tree with a casual swing.
Vivi, Nami, Mikita and Usopp all swallow their saliva, seeing the sharpness.
"These little babies must be tha best creation yet! Yer knowledge and ideas made this possible." Durin turns towards me and Heph.
"Must be among my finest items too. Can't really judge because of the runes and ithildin magic veins that we integrated. How did you come up with that idea?" Heph
"Well I knew ithildin was able to do some great enchantments with their moon letters. So with my availability of other worlds magics, it would be good to make a weapon that I don't want to change. So if magic can be led around the body through special veins, why not make them in the weapons. This way they can channel the magics I channel. Like Braums Winter bite ability." I explained my thought process.
"Very nice! Well I hate ta split with them, but I a axe wielder and these kids were made for ya… Just let meh borrow them once, just ta make the visiting elven kings lose their brains when I show them off to them! Hehehe, can't wait ta see their looks! Now try them boy!" Durin hands over the blades.
Taking them from his hands, I feel their weight and a faint connection to them- they are perfect!
"I don't mind you borrowing them from time to time… Just don't lose my… *shiver runs down my spine* babies." The connection actually sent shivers down my spine.
I go stand a bit farther away and give them a spin. My hair stands on end getting a feeling from them and I start to… dance.
I feel energy building up in my body and coursing through the blades and back. The blades start to glow, my spinning becomes faster and winds start to pick up around me.
"HahahaHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Adrenaline rushes through me as I disappear to the forest, leaving a path of fallen trees and hacked down dinosaurs.
"... I think the swords are too good for him." Mikita glances at the dwarf, who just shrugs with a grin.
"Every child goes nuts, when they get a great new toy! Hahahaha!" Durin laughs.
"And these items are really good. But I have no idea how he disappeared from the spot." Heph
"HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Everyone looks up as I am running up into the sky like a crazy maniac.
"Alright, even Nessa's blessing can't do that." Durin
"Hey Broggy, Dorry? Can you throw me up to calm the idiot before he hurts himself?" Zoro glances at the giants.
"Come! The Broggy Express delivers everywhere in a tosses reach!" He offers his hand.
Zoro is launched up into the air.
"Oni Giri!" He slashes with his swords disrupting my spin.
"Eh? What? Zoro? Wait why are we so high in the air?" My eyes bulge as we are about 300 meters above the island.
"Don't ask me, you kept running into the sky like an idiot, so I was thrown to get you out of you stupor." We start to freedive towards the floor.
"What? I moonwalked? Shit! HOW DO I DO IT AGAIN?! FUUUCK!" We continue to fall down.
In the end Zoro was caught by Broggy and I was caught by Dorry.
"Thanks for the catch. So what exactly happened? I kinda don't remember after the first few sabre spins." I scratch the back of my head as I join the others.

"So I probably used Soru and Moonwalk without knowing… Damn it! Those are good skills!" I grab my head in frustration because I can't remember how I did it.
