It was a gloomy day. Everyone is dressed in white to match the occasion. People gathered around in groups, all gossiping about relevant and irrelevant things. While mama King was crying her eyes out, nothing anyone could say will make her feel better unless you're going through the same as her.
On the mantle surrounded by beautiful lilies is Adaline's picture. Her smiling face could radiate the entire world. Her favorite music is being played, and the whole hall smelled just the way she liked it. Just the previous week, she was with everyone at the coven meeting to talk about their upcoming festival. Now, she will miss the festival she loves so much and was looking forward to it.
People pay their respect and try consoling the Mama King; it just made her cry more. Even the blood-sucking demons showed up to pay their respect, which caused the whole room to become quiet in order to see what will happen. However, it all went smoothly except for the mourning mother.
As the ceremony continued, the guests continued with what they were doing before the Vampires showed up but quieter to be aware of everything around in case they attacked.
A figure dressed in sparkling white covered from head to toe arrived at the hall entrance, moving slowly to the podium while everyone became silent with shock and fear. The figure got to the platform where the casket holding Adaline was and stopped. Underneath the hood was Emamaline (pronounced; A-ma-ma-lin). Removing the hood gave people around a clear view of her face. Ema just stared at her sister, as beautiful as ever, even in eternal sleep. No one could outshine her.
A single tear dropped from her eye and many more after that, but nothing could make the pain go away, as she spoke to her two days ago only for her to be dead the next day. She whispered there; they will all pay; they will share my pain. Ema turned to where her mother is seated and sat beside her hugging her as they both cried together for what they lost, their joyful flower always happy, laughing. Been in her presence makes you happy also.
After the ceremony, the humans pay their respect and left, leaving the coven to perform the last rites before sending off her soul to the ancestral plane. The body was moved to the white forest, and the coven formed a circle around with Mama and Ema at the altar holding Adaline's body. The coven began chanting while Ema cleaned the body with water, oil and dressed it, placing flowers all over the body. She joined the coven in chanting:
"We call on Theia goddess of light to shine her light on your path as you journeyed to the land of our ancestors."
"We call on the Anemoi, gods of wind, to guide you through your path as you journeyed to the land of our ancestors."
"We call on Amphitrite, goddess of water, to water thy path as you journeyed to the land of our ancestors."
"We call on Gaia, goddess of the earth, to carve the path you shall pass as you journey to the land of our ancestors."
"Spirit, hear our calls, and guide your daughter to the land of our ancestors."
The coven kept chanting till the body began its journey out of the physical plane. Everyone left the white forest and moved toward the dome where the final rites will be performed, which involves celebrating her life with food and wine.
At the dome, mama sat at the corner, staring into nothing, lost in the seas of her mind. At the same time, Ema watched as everyone was being served food and drinks. She whispered, "blood of my blood" into the air and turned to her mother. Eating and drinking continued with everyone relaxed talking about different things when someone started coughing out Blood, then another, then another. Five members were coughing out Blood, causing the whole celebration to be in disarray with everyone trying to figure out what was happening and the cause of their coughing.
Ema sat down and stared at them, doing nothing, just watching the drama unfold. The people coughing began holding their necks, finding it difficult to breathe while trying to crawl towards Ema, which got everybody's attention that she had something to do with their predicament.
