No matter how many times you argue with it, life had a way of taking the most precious of things away. You can curse, yell, and cry about it but it would do little to no good against a much stronger force.
Cobalt was looking after her father, and the clan with little to no knowledge on where to find herbs. Even risking their very lives by entering enemy territory. Life was a tough experience but survival was even harder if you aren't prepared for it.
That was the thing, no one was prepared.
Smaug had found quite a lot of herbs thanks to his training, and his two pets helped him find some more. The clan that was Cobalt's home was indeed large, and with many large carnivores to feed it was no wonder they were struggling. That rex clan also did a number on Cobalt and her clan.
The blind beasts really weren't helping them either, since they were weak they could do nothing against the blind that tormented their very lives.
Speaking of the blind, Smaug noticed quite a lot of movement from the dense trees and marsh. It was all around him, which made the area around him tense. He could feel a mass amount of eyes on him from the dense woods.
The pressure of being watched was overwhelming.
Taking what he had found back to the clan did he approach Cobalt and her father. The only problem was not knowing for sure what was wrong with him. The herbs he had gathered, he knew a few of them could help his fever go down.
Cobalt looked up at him curiously before looking at some of the herbs he handed to her.
"Ground these up and put them in water for him to drink.", spoke Smaug. He hoped she could do that at least, since he felt that he was not alone. The eyes from outside of the clan walls were dense sort of like the morning fog.
The clan walls would help protect them from danger, but if a bunch of blind swarm in while they were weak would it be a death sentence. He would have to go out there and kill some of them, by doing this he would be able to scare them off from coming back.
If that didn't work he would have to kill all of them.
Smaug moved away from Cobalt as he began walking back out, Cobalt noticed this. "Where are you going?"
Smaug looked back at her, "I am going into the mouth of the beasts. You stay here, I will be back soon."
Cobalt could only watch in awe like everyone else, Smaug was going out there by himself to take on the blind. He said what he was going to do but even so, still it was hard to believe.
By standing outside of the clan did Smaug look at his pets who stood behind him, he merely looked ahead as he looked down before looking up. The marsh water went up to his ankles, the feeling of being watched grew. The silence that was around him quickly began to grew that he had thought that he was deaf, but it took him a moment to realize that his hearing was fine.
That was how quiet it was.
These blind beasts were very observant of him, no doubt they had time to figure stuff out.
Smaug reached down into the marsh slowly, and as he did so did he look to the side fast. A large rex came charging out of the trees toward him. Smaug grasped hold of something and pulled it out in time to use it.
Smaug had pulled out a crocodile from under the marsh and threw it at the rampaging rex, the crocodile had snapped a hold of the rex by the face.
Taking his time did he dash over and kick the rex down with his foot. The angered roar of the rex became a loud yelp of pain as Smaug took hold of the crocodile that was still on its face.
It was a rather small crocodile but it had a strong death grip on the face of the rex, and as he pulled on the crocodile did it begin to use its trademark death roll.
Smaug was impressed that a crocodile of this size had so much strength. It was small to him and this rex, but it had a good size mouth to capture the rex by the face.
The loud hissing from the crocodile and the pained cries of the rex, told him that his hearing still worked.
Smaug blinked as the trees quickly came alive with other carnivores that obviously heard the ruckus, and they all began to run over in their excitement to kill.
Smaug left the rex alone as the crocodile thrashed upon its face, he approached the other carnivores with no fear. He displayed his claws and bared his fangs at the approaching swarm.
Swarms or rather large packs like these blind before him could easily overpower a weak clan. They could also overcome him if he was not careful.
He had endurance and strength on his side, and truth be told that was all that he needed.
As the large rexes approached him did he quickly approach them. His excitement for a fight boiled within his being.
Smaug grabbed a hold of a rex by the jaws that was nearest to him, and he quickly pried its mouth open. He heard a satisfying snap come from the dislocated jaws, the rex helplessly twitched as it fell into the swampy water.
The rest of the carnivores came running one after another, he swiped at one blind carnotaurus delivering a large horrible gash upon its face. He picked up a squealing allosaurus and brought its back down upon his knee in a powerful blow.
All the while not getting tired.
Smaug winced as another allosaurus jumped onto his side and biting him hard. As he turned to get it off did a giganotosaurus charge up and bite him on the neck.
This was when things can go bad really fast. He had to move fast or else be in a horrible spot.
He quickly smacked the allosaurus off of his side as it yelped loudly. Smaug hissed loudly at the giganotosaurus as he lifted up his foot and slammed his foot into its stomach.
He really hated this, only cause some blind beasts don't play fair. What was even surprising was that there was different species working together against him. This made him think that these blind beasts have done this so many times before.
They could also be mistaken for being conscious.
Smaug blinked as he felt his foot being grabbed by the carnotaurus that he gave a gash too. As he moved to remove it did a rex rush up to bite his side. His eyes went wide however as the animal roared in annoyance as it turned around to bite at something upon its side.
His two pets jumped on the rex to help their master.
Smaug looked down at the carnotaurus as he grabbed it by the neck and pulled its mouth off of him. He lifted the carnotaurus as he quickly moved to the rex who dare snap at his pets.
Before the rex could react did he stab the carnotaurus horns into the side of the rex. The loud cries of the rex were a sign that it was hurting and badly.
Blood was heavily flowing from their wounds, some of the blind beasts began to flee probably cause they have never seen anything like Smaug before. Besides, he wasn't weak.
The blind beasts could easily tell if someone was weak or not.
Smaug removed the carnotaurus from the rex before stabbing one of its horns into the back of the rex. The carnotaurus was helplessly struggling and snarling, it didn't appreciate being used as a weapon against its will.
The rex collapsed from the severity of its wounds, Smaug removed the carnotaurus and slammed his elbow into its neck. He broke its neck and tossed its limp body to the side.
Smaug looked around as he noticed that the large swarm had scattered, now he would have to wait and see if they would return or not.
His pets looked at the bleeding rex curiously, it looked so pitiful laying there in the swamp water and its own blood.
Smaug moved to the rex as he took a hold of its jaws and broke them in a quick motion like the last rex. There was a few bodies laying around him, he felt glad though for this would help the struggling clan some what.
Smaug looked over at the rex that still had the crocodile on its face, it was still trying to shake the animal off. Smaug also noticed that the rex was slow and seemed to be struggling to stand. He smirked walking over, he took a hold of the crocodile as he pried its mouth open but not enough to kill it.
The crocodile would of suffocated that rex if he left it on there for longer.
Tossing the crocodile back into the water did he watched the rex stagger off, it clearly lost its strength. If it returns he would kill it.
This was all about intimidating them, to do this he had to kill some of them off. He also took the time to make some struggle so they would remember the experience that they had.
Smaug will know for sure if it works or not, and he didn't care to go after them either way. This was about helping this clan, by getting rid of the blind problem could they be able to hunt and feed themselves.
That was what was most important.
He didn't mind to stay there a few days to see how the clan does, he would also teach some of the clan to look for herbs and what to look for.
Smaug looked at his pets some what curiously, they were well and they weren't hurt from what he could tell.
"Thanks for helping me out.", spoke Smaug at his pets. He could show gratitude, besides they did good to stop that rex from grabbing him.
His pets shook their bodies and seemed relaxed, and if they were relaxed that meant the blind was far away for now.
While he fought against the blind he noticed how each one was properly fed. They clearly were eating all of the wild game around the area, not only that but their constant presence meant that the clan could not go out and get fish.
He would have to stand watch, so that way they could get the food that they need.
Smaug was worried though, when the blind were well fed they tend to make nests in the area. He could stop the problem for now but if they had laid eggs he would have to go out and destroy them.
Any blind beasts that had nests would be harder to get rid off.
Smaug looked at his wounds from the battle, he got a little roughed up but it was not anything to bad. His pets ran to the opening of the clan and he followed closely behind.
Once he entered the clan was he approached by many of Cobalt's clan. Everyone looked at him with great gratitude and kindness.
They heard him fight the blind and so now they were grateful and glad that he was there. It was surprising only cause he had never been treated like this before.
For so long he was against being with a clan, only cause of the rules and how strict they were. Now, he didn't get that from them. They were glad to have him there, and he hasn't been there all that long.
Cobalt came running over to him with a large smile, she was happy that he was alright. "Thank god you are alright!"
Smaug gave a brief smirk though he looked at everyone around him, for he felt awkward with all the smiles he was getting from everyone.
Cobalt looked at his wounds with worry, "!?!"
Smaug took notice and he gave a little smile, "I am alright."
Cobalt slowly nodded though she stared up at him.
Before she could say anything did she hear a familiar voice behind her, when she turned around did she see her father slowly moving his head.
"Dad!?!", she happily ran over to him.
Smaug blinked as followed after her, if her father was alright then that meant he came just in time.
So it looks like Cobalt's father will be fine, but what will he tell Smaug? Read to find out!
Thank you all for reading! I hope you are liking it so far! I also hope you will like the next season! ^^
