"Because I know the designer of this dress." Isabel said that smugly, as if boasting about her connections.
On the other hand, Apple responded to these comments by raising an eyebrow, seemingly to say; what is there to be proud of?
Apple was quite surprised and almost gasped when she realized how quickly changes could occur in the way someone treated other people after they found out that their status was not the same.
It was completely unreasonable that this could happen, but that was how it was and this was what she was witnessing now.
"And I know the person who bought it." The words just slipped from Apple's lips without thinking. She said it as if it were something to be proud of.
However, on the other hand, what Apple said was enough to irritate Isabel, because it meant that she might know the designer of this dress, but no matter how expensive the item was, the most important thing was the buyer who had bought the expensive item, right?
