65.38% Thrown Into Hell (Slow Updates) / Chapter 34: 29

Capítulo 34: 29

Diluc took a small break from annihilating both Lorian and himself to go and prepare for a cheese strategy.

He gathered every material required. Andre was quite surprised by what Diluc had requested considering the he had only ever requested to upgrade Ultra Greatswords before. Nevertheless, Andre got to work.

Within hours, Diluc had gotten back to the cheese twins with some cheese of his own. As always, Lorian was no challenge without the help of his equally disabled brother.

As soon as the 'cutscene' started, Diluc sprinted towards where Lorian was getting revived. Every time Diluc had attempted this fight, Lothric got better and better and reviving, the window for attacks during reviving was getting smaller.

The millisecond Diluc got in range, he switched his weapon from Fume to the Dragonslayer Greataxe.

He offered the Greataxe to the sky and it was instantly zapped with lightning, blessed by Gwyn himself.

He then lowered the axe directly onto the younger brother's head.

Lothric was instantly sent to the shadow realm.

Unlike in the game, Lorian didn't follow suit just because his brother died. However, he probably should've considering that Diluc swept him up and disposed of him quite easily.

The next boss was the Ancient Wyvern...

The next boss was the Nameless King. This boss is supposed to be the hardest vanilla and possibly the hardest boss in the game.

Even getting to him is annoying.

(A.N. Was it just me or was getting to him as difficult as fighting him? I just ran by the enemies because I knew I was strong enough to game end them at any moment and then I just get ledged by a rolling beetle.)

Diluc lit the bonfire in preparation to die and rung the bell that spelled his end. Seeing that fog covered the endless abyss below, he jumped down and walked into the boss room.

A large dark purple figure came zooming towards Diluc from the horizon. On top was the infamous Nameless King.

Without even a second of hesitation, the dragon used its beak to strike at Diluc. Of course, he dodged without too much of an issue.

However, the dragon then followed up with a fire breath attack.

By the skin of his teeth, Diluc was able to dodge by disregarding his war dance and rolling out of the way.

He was then sent back to the bonfire.

After recovering from his roll, the powerful figure on top of the dragon pierced his skull without any resistance.

It was not a good day for Diluc.

The next month and a half were spent trying to fight a dragon with one of the most powerful people ever to exist riding it.

(A.N. Not sure if the Nameless King's strength was ever compared to someone like Gwym but I certainly got my ass handed to me by him.)

Diluc once again stood in front of the fog gate that separated him from his death. He let himself be engulfed by the fog and was once again face-to-face with the dragon duo.

Thankfully, Diluc found that they had no capability to learn anything new. They even responded the same way to the same attack every time.

This would be a great nerf to any other boss than the Nameless King and his pet lizard.

This duo's responses were already at near perfection, there was no need to grow more when no one else could possibly match you after all.

Luckily, there were weaknesses to the Dragon's and the Nameless King's attacks. The first issue was the lack of range that the Nameless King had while on the back of a dragon.

The dragon had to lower its head to allow the Nameless King to attack and because of this, it was easy to predict. Although still extremely difficult to dodge.

The second weakness is that although they have been partners for centuries no doubt, their synergy was hindered by the fact that they are from completely different species. Sometimes when the Nameless King would want to dodge and counter-attack, the dragon would want to tank the attack and return an even more devastating blow.

This is a fundamental difference in species. Dragons know that they're the best, they don't need to dodge while human are much more likely to avoid damage and counter-attack.

Lastly, the Nameless King can't use all of his abilities while on the back of his dragon. His weapon was made for mounting dragons, but his fighting style is not. His full capabilities are only realized when he leaves the back of his dragon.

This is what allowed Diluc to take the life of the pet for the first time a month and a half after his first attempt.

Seeing that his dragon's life was taken, the Nameless King drew his Dragonslayer Swordspear to the head of the dragon and sunk it in. All of a sudden, the corpse no longer existed and the Nameless King's weapon had been enchanted.

Diluc was ready for anything... except a lightning bolt hitting his skull and killing him instantly.

Back to the bonfire.

In his next attempt, he once again made it to the Nameless King, this time with a full health bar and 2 estus flasks left over.

Diluc noticed that the Nameless King's eyes would point towards where he wanted the lightning to rain down. Which would be useful if the lightning didn't come down as fast as lightning does.

Rather than reacting, Diluc had to predict when to dodge based off of his eye movement. This was by far the most difficult boss fight already, and he hasn't even crossed blades with him once.

Diluc spent the rest of that attempt training himself to predict where and when lightning would strike.
