Filling up his stomach with a real deal of food Mike felt satisfied for once in years of eating raw fish.
Every bite feels worth it. He enjoys every gulp as he teared up from taste.
While he's happily shedding some tears, a stake suddenly appeared at his back head.
The stake is big as a whole tree log. Not only it's fast, it's faster than Mike had ever seen in his whole life, he can't even foresee what happened.
Mike's senses are sharp like eyes are all around his body yet this ambush is something he can't see at all.
*PIERCE*
The stake pierces through Mike's head only leaving 1/4 of his face attached to his neck. The rest is all splattered gruesomely as his right eye hangs at the splinter of the stake.
Blood flows everywhere leaving Mike falling in a thud without life. At his back, there's a man.
Tattered clothes and a wounded body as battle scars are all around his body. This is the man who dived to drag a little corpse into the shore.
The man's eyes look calm even though he just killed someone but deep in those eyes, he felt surprised.
Putting the big stake at his side he looks at Mike with a question in his head.
(How in the world is this little girl still alive?)
This question doesn't appear just now but it's been in his head since Mike just woke up. His sense doesn't fail him to notice what's dead or alive because he's been doing this for years now yet this existence makes his experience laughable.
Is it because he half-heartedly dragged the corpse? or he's getting rusty.
He carefully checks Mike for hours as he hides his presence within nature. He plans to talk to the little corpse (Mike) but when Mike goes for a run he immediately changes his mind to straight for a kill.
(The way he runs is like a beast thirsty for blood it's crazily fast. If I let that creature go it might go to some town and kill everyone it encounters.) He groans in thought when he imagines the little corpse is soaking in blood as the blazing fire surrounding the corpse that Mike is standing.
He just thought that there might be a monster that controls human corpses. It might be nonsense but this was his way of thinking for years now.
Moving on, the man gave up in thought and lean forward to grab the little corpse's feet dragging its grave.
However, as he grabs it's feet, the little corpse's hands move. Not that it moves because of the last will of the muscle but it moves full like it's alive.
Little corpse- Mike grabs the man's shoulder and pins him to the ground.
The man felt surprised that the corpse move, with this he's sure that someone is moving this poor little corpse like a puppet in a string.
He's calm even in this situation as he pinned down he pushes the ground flying him and the corpse up between the ground and the tree's leaves.
In mid-air, the man shifts its angle and grab Mike's remeaning face, and shoves it to the ground with brute force.
*BANG* The man's strength is unbelievable to be able to carry the big stake and even push himself and the little corpse upward with his hands and arms alone.
With that result of having his face splattered to the ground Mike's right eye vision is gone.
The man didn't even stop there... Pulling Mike's arms to his very back that just a little move all of his arms will break. The man fully restrains Mike.
(What's with this creature.)
Mike sure got restrained... However, the man underestimates a human who survives from the deep ocean.
*Crack*
It goes without saying what Mike had done is something that will make everyone even the man surprised.
*Crack crack crack* More bones cracking can be heard.
And suddenly all of Mike's arms twisted facing towards the man grabbing his face and throwing him afar.
(Fuck!)
Mike suddenly stands up. He feels the adrenaline surging through his body yet he feels tired for some reason.
The reason may be because this is the first time he's fighting with a human in this weird way or this is the first time he's fighting with someone to the death.
Mike doesn't know much when it comes to close combat fighting as he only uses his head and a little bit of strength to defeat his enemy.
But luckily he got used to fighting in pinch situation because of surviving in the deep ocean. One said that it's better to suddenly fall to the deep floor of the dungeon with high-level monsters than to slowly descend into the deep dark ocean.
Either way, it's been a long time since he fought with the same species.
Mike stands up headlessly like a Dullahan lurking in the shadowy nights menacingly starting towards the man who flew a few meters away with his non-existent eyes.
He uses all of his senses just to be aware of what's his state or where he is now. Of course, he also didn't know how can he survive without a brain in his top.
The man stands up also face Mike. Looks like the man finally warms up as he removes his tattered shirt showing his tons upon tons of hideous battle scars.
The man is seriously curious about how the little corpse's neck is not flowing out some blood like it's been a lock since before he splattered this corpse's head.
(High-class evolution, huh? Tch.)
Both look at one another but both didn't move yet their hostile is lingering towards each other.
Mike clearly senses the killing intent of the other party so he just can't lower his guard. On the other hand, the man can't lower his guard towards something unknown.
Before one could realize the man takes a large leap as it's trying to kill the little corpse with a clean hit.
A brute powerful fist suddenly appeared in front of Mike's chest the distance between them for a few meters disappeared in a flash.
Mike also tried to counter as he weaponizes his right hand and thrust his open palm to the man's face.
However, as he thrust his dangerous hand he hits nothing but air. He late to notice that the man lowered his whole body.
Having no eyes really does have a disadvantage.
The fist went to his chest towards his heart as the man grips it with all of his might.
But like him, he grabs nothing but air.
Mike lowered his entire body or more like he let his body fall. He can pretty much do anything to his body when descending since his mind and body are already familiar with it.
Weaponizing his left hand he thrust it towards the loose balance man.
One already knows how dangerous these hands are, as it can even tear up a giant creature's inside easily but it totally changes Mike's view when the man blows away his weaponized hand with his momentum and body alone. Blow... more as it explodes within the impact.
Because the man instantly flew towards him even if he didn't manage to hit him the impact alone can pretty much like a flying boulder.
Not only his hand has gotten hit but Mike's entire body flew in such distance.
Losing his hand Mike didn't lose his cool he already stands up as he has gotten used to the pressure and gravity of the surface to a point where now he can use it to the point that he can fight on it.
Standing up the man has gotten surprised again as he saw Mike's jaw is already regenerating.
(This is...)
He can't really lower his guard here.
The man notices the stake log in his side so he brought it up and use it as a spear.
The weight of the log alone is heavy enough that it needs two average humans to carry it but it looks like this man is also not normal like Mike.
The two continued their fight but it didn't take too long to clear their misunderstanding after the sun takes a peak once again.
