Capítulo 31: Chapter 31: She should be ready to die part 2

The shadow stealthily popped out and stabbed the green-haired girl in her belly, dragging and twisting the dagger made from the shadow element thru her guts to her heart.

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh," the green-haired girl screamed in agony before her death. Even then, the shadow troll ruthlessly kicked the corpse before vanishing.

"Sister!" the pink-haired girl hollered after seeing her comrade die.

Everything happened so fast that the girl's bodyguards had no time to act. Who would have thought that Luke would attack his own ally? At least that's what everyone, including Paul, was thinking.

"Thank you, Luke. I can take care of the rest; you can leave," Alex said in a tone of gratitude toward Luke.

Everyone looked at Luke. Even Luke did not understand how it happened, but he knew he was not the one that killed the girl. The others knew Luke could create shadows, and they didn't see Alex use a spell or knew that he was a natural dark elemental user.

The pink-haired girl was about to attack Luke, but Alex intercepted her, "Where do you think you're going?"

The current situation stunned the other long-distance attackers; they stopped attacking briefly. Luke was not sticking around anymore. He was cursing Alex. Even if he explained it was not him, everyone saw how he used his shadow element to attack Alex in a similar manner, how Alex saved him from the lightning, and how Alex spoke to him.

Before Luke could leave, six figures wearing the same clothing as Lisa surrounded him. While another assailant dressed in a similar manner was approaching Alex.

The remaining adventurer did not want to stick around either; his campions were poisoned, and could not move. He did not want to end up like them. Alex sheathed one of his ghost blades, blinked away from the pink-haired girl and the other approaching assailant. As the adventurer turned around to leave thru a window, two axes plunged into his back and killed him.

Alex also sent two more Axes to the paralyzed adventures.

"Luke, don't worry," Alex said as he threw three axes at the six assailants that surrounded Luke. Alex's action further cemented that Luke and Alex were partners the entire time putting on a show. 2/3 of the axes Alex sent were able to hit two of Luke's opponents, paralyzing them.

"Luke, they have been poisoned; kill them, "Alex shouted a command as he re-draw his other ghost blade to meet the single assailant's giant ax and pink-haired girl's sword. While constantly blinking away to avoid Paul water blade attacks.

Luke did just as Alex said.

_Those people wanted to kill him, so why shouldn't i kill them too?_

With two dead, Luke still was barely managing.

While Alex was watching them (Luke's battle), they too were watching Alex; they could not afford to lose both girls. They needed to detain Luke so they could offer his head to the marquess to quail his angry.

As Alex was fighting two on one battle, a cyan color circle appeared underneath Paul's feet; he was chanting an ice spell. As Alex was exchanging blade strikes with the assailant's ax and the pink-haired girl's sword, two lances made of ice were sent straight to his back and anal area. Paul was vicious. The assailant and the pink hair girl knew this and were sending a barrage of strikes at Alex in hopes to distract and keep him there.

Alex knew this as well, thanks to his perception leveling up. Level two perception heightened all of his senses and allowed him to see people as red dots on a map in his head. With his senses heightened, he could feel the attack five inches from his body, primarily due to his space elemental affinity.

Alex used his skill ghost fade, fading out the middle portion of his body, allowing the attack to pass thru him. Just like the assailant was trying to keep Alex in place, Alex was doing the same. The ice lances passing thru Alex shocked everyone, particularly the assailant fighting Alex. The assailant and the pink hair girl thought Alex took a direct hit until they saw one lance come out of his chest and another from his crotch area. The assailant took paul's ice lance attack to his thigh and chest, killing him.

Now the pink-haired girl had Alex's full attention, well almost.

Paul did not like how the situation was going and decide to leave. Too bad Alex was watching him. Alex blinked to the closest node and chased after Paul.

"Where do you think you are going?" Alex asked as his blades clashed with Paul's metal spear. Alex was determined to keep Paul here. He didn't come after Paul, but Paul took it upon himself to come after him. There was no next time for this fellow. Alex would rather let anyone go except Paul, his "Old friend."

While fighting Paul, Alex sheathed one of his blades; Luke was in an unpleasant situation; it was essentially five against one. Luke was able to hold them back by creating two shadows, making it a three on five. Once Luke was dead or detained, they would all be on him. Alex did not really fear this; he could ghost fade and kill them all. He just did not want to face Paul, the four remaining assailants, the pink hair girls, and the two newcomers while the majority of the space nodes were locked. His passive skill perception showed two more people who recently arrive north of the barn; Alex did not know if they were his enemies. Still, the longer Luke was alive, the better his options were. In the barn's darkness, Alex again released another shadow troll to help Luke. While fighting Paul, Alex would continue to send Axes in Luke's fight, giving Luke more breathing room.

"you should worry about yourself," Paul voiced, seeing that Alex was hindering the other group from finishing Luke. Paul's water blades were just passing thru Alex, and he was becoming frustrated. If Paul knew that Alex also had such skill and understanding of the space element, he would never have come after him. Alex raised his blade vertically and swiped it in a downward motion in an attempt to split Paul in half from his head. Paul immediately raised his metal spear horizontally above his head, intercepting the blade, as he blew a purple mist-like substance from his mouth into Alex's face.

*Ding*

While Paul was smiling menacingly at his handy work, Alex's blade faded, passing through Paul's metal spear, then materialized as it split Paul's head in half along with the rest of his body. Even near death, there was still an unwillingness to die in Paul's eyes as if accusing Alex of cheating.

Alex blinked to the closest node and ran to Luke's aid. The assailants saw how Alex's blade faded and assume it was one of Alex's skills related to space. They then realized that they should have never allowed the girls to fight with such a frightful opponent. It also meant that Alex was toying with them the whole time. Or there was a condition for him to allow attacks to pass thru him. The assailants knew there was no hope of killing Alex; all they could do is try to hinder him and let the remaining girl escape.

"Take Loreal and go," One of the four remaining assailants (Loreal's bodyguard) said to the other.

One assailant' discarded attacking Luke and did as was commanded of him.

He grabbed the girl by her waist and was head east. The other assailants were expecting Alex's arrival to help Luke, only to see him blink after the girl and their comrade.

"Stay your hand; she's the daughter of the Marquess," he screamed while launching slashes imbued with flames as he chased after Alex. Leaving the other two assailants to handle Luke.

Alex heard him and yelled back, "If she is ready to kill, she should be ready to die."

Alex was five feet away from the girl when a twenty-foot serpent made from fire blocked his path, stopping him. Alex was curious who the newcomers were. They stayed and watch for a good while without interfering.

"Master Xu, Mistress Sapphire," Laurel cried out, seeing two familiar faces standing up in the Air.

The guard carrying Loreal was also happy; he was sure he could not get away from Alex. The guard stopped in front of the two royal mages, put Loreal down then did a slight bow as a greeting. The two mages descended in front of them.

"Master Xu, Mistress Sapphire, those two are responsible for the death of Ms. Lisa Thorn...…" The guard declared while pointing at Alex and Luke. Then he told the two of them what took place, skipping no detail.

While they were talking, Alex drank a mana and stamina potion before blinking behind the guard that was chasing after him and stabbing him in the back. The guard did not expect Alex to attack him in the presence of two royal mages.

As he looked down at the blade sticking out of his chest, his final thought was _this young man is so cruel_
