Capítulo 95: Ch.95 A run around the block...
"You know, You scare me sometimes..." said Clear who was now looking at the unconscious form of Sylar, or also known as Gabriel Gray.
Gabriel Gray was raised as the son of a watchmaker, but was indoctrinated by his mother's repeated assertions to believe that he was special and deserved more in life.
Sylar's dominant trait was his innate desire to be recognized as special and admired.He wants to improve his life. He wants to make a difference. He wants to matter.
So when Mohinder's father, a well known geneticists came into the watch repair shop he was working at. And told him that he has an ability that made him unique and special. He saw the opportunity to fulfill what his mother have known all along, that he was special.
Sylar's base power, as described by Chandra Suresh, is "intuitive aptitude", the ability to innately understand and manipulate patterns within complex systems, which initially manifests as a talent for repairing timepieces.
this power comes with a nearly insatiable hunger for "understanding", which, in Sylar's case, specifically refers to craving the powers of others, driving him to kill other superpowered humans to understand their powers and make them his own.
Through the process of realizing how to do that, he gets blinded and loses himself in the pursuit of it and goes a little crazy—'a little' being an understatement.
'Well, I guess cutting the top of peoples heads, and literally ramaging thru their brains to figure out their powers is indeed 'a little' over the top.'
"Yeah. But, you know I'm a generally ok guy. Right?!" Kris just gave Clear his trademark smirk.
Which earned him an I roll,"Maybe, but did you really have to go do that phantom of the opera routine? At the end there I couldn't even tell who was the serial killer... anyway why did you want to capture him?"
"Well my dear Clear, When I heard this man's name from that conversation with Mohinder. I remembered something called the "Walker Tracking System".
"I sort of heard it, well not really... I read it off Noah Bennet's mind a while ago. Which I may add, totally slipped my mind. By the way, and this guy is one of the prime targets of said tracking system." said Kris.
"And if my guess is right your little Molly, is more than just a chip from the old block. Not that I'm calling you old, since you look like you haven't aged a day... did these little rabbits grow bigger... I couldn't tell before..." Kris trailed off.
"Hey! Focus! my face is up here... or do you need me to tell Felicity to set you straight?!" Clear snapped her fingers a couple of times to get his attention, when he finally looked up she asked,"Now what?!"
"Now we bring him to the trunk. But, not before I get a sample of his spinal fluid." said Kris as he took out a big syringe, and did as he said.
He then picked up, Sylar and placed him in the cars trunk. He also picked up Mohinder on his way back, and placed him in the back seat.
Then they put on a little skit for the good doctor. Kris, and Clear sat back in the car, while Kris backs up a little and drove into Zane's drive way as if they just arrived.
Kris ask Clear to shake Mohinder awake, as the doctor wakes up, Clear said,"You must be really tired to dose off like that?! Were here."
Mohinder a little confused thought he just had a dream, or more like a nightmare. Since Sylar was in it. He then got out of the car, and rang the doorbell.
When no one was answering, Mohinder decide that the doorbell might be broken so he tried knocking on the door.
After a few knocks, Mohinder found out that the door was not even closed. So he walked in calling on Zane's name.
As he went around the house to look for Zane, what he found was a dead body with the top of its head cut open.
Mohinder rushed out in a panic, seeing this Clear ran up to him asking him what was wrong... while Kris went in to check what happened.
When Kris walked out of the house, Mohinder was already on the phone with the police.
After a few hours of explaining Kris, and Clear parted ways with Mohinder as he insisted to accompany the detective in charge to the police station.
Instead of going back to their hotel, Kris decided it would be better to get an out of the way motel in the city's outskirts.
As they want to lure out the people who are using the tracking system. Kris placed Sylar in a psionically induced coma, and sat him down in a rented room. He then invisibility on himself, and kept watch of Sylar while Clear stayed in the adjacent room.
This went on for a couple of days, and they were starting to think this was a lost cause. Until Felicity contacted Kris, and told him about a comics series called the 9th Wonder.
And how it somewhat told the story of how Matt Parkman found Molly, and how it depicted her abduction. But, Felicity couldn't find out more since the comic hasn't been updated yet...
Kris, and Clear decide to visit the author/artist that created the series named Isaac Mendez.
Which was here in New York, they packed up and drove to the address Felicity gave. But, not after leaving a nano tracking device on Sylar.
Clear ask Kris why he let Sylar live, and why would he set him free?
Kris simply said,"He still hasn't fulfilled his purpose yet." and didn't say more.
Clear was a little frustrated about that but her priority at the moment is looking for Molly. So she let it go for now.
Isaac Méndez is a struggling, tortured artist living in New York City. Isaac has the power of precognition, which allows him to depict images of the future, usually while in a trance-like state. In this case when he is under the influence of heroine.
When Kris, and Clear came up to Isaac's loft. Noah Bennet and his partner, an individual that has the power to erase someones memory was there. Talking to the painter.
Kris quickly casts an invisibility spell on both himself and Clear to listen in on their conversation.
Isaac Mendez explains to Mr. Bennet and The Haitian that Peter Petrelli, an empath who has the power to copy the powers of anybody near him. Has become invisible, from Isaac's predictions.
Mr.Bennet says that Peter, who absorbs the abilities of others, has come into contact with a man who they thought was dead.
Mr.Bennet receives a phone call, and tells Isaac that he has other things to do. So, he needs to leave.
But before he left, he gave Isaac a gun. Isaac asks what does he do with it. Bennet replies, "Save the world."
As Noah Bennet passes by Kris he places a nano tracking device on him.
After he had confirmed that the man had exited the building, He and Clear walked to Isaac's door to meet him, and ask if he has the next issue comic which could lead them to find Molly.
