As she carefully contemplated the meaning of his words, her body stiffened and she suddenly lifted her head to look at him in disbelief. "What did you just say?"

Chu Qi paused and look her deep in the eyes as a smile played on his lips. "Are you referring to what you just said about hitting you on the butt?"

Ji'er's face flushed such a deep shade of red that blood might start gushing out of it. She stamped her feet and said with coy annoyance, "That's not what I meant."

"Then what do you mean?" Chu Qi smiled as he looked at her. There was a teasing look in his eyes.

Ji'er leaned against his chest and asked in a small voice, "Have you really accepted me and want to be with me?"

Chu Qi sighed and rubbed her head. He used her words against her. "I thought I'd expressed myself clearly."

Joy flashed in Ji'er's pretty eyes. She bit her lips. This felt like a dream. It did not feel real at all.
