PIRATE QUEST 7
Lekki beach. One of the popular beaches in the Nigerian.
Known for its great wall and businesses around.
Among the tall and mighty buildings around, there's a big building, which is different from the others.
A giant pirate hat was built on the top of the building, with different statues of pirates. Outside the building.
The car stops in front of the building.
Christiana and the others came out of the car.
They were stunned and flabbergasted by the sight of the place.
"Oh my Creativity!!! ",Blessing exclaimed and spins round excitedly.
"Beautiful! ",Christiana exclaimed too. Placing her hand on Blessing's shoulder.
Treasure whistled in amazement.
He looks round.
Just then, Miss Angela came out to see them.
"Welcome!
I was waiting for you all",she said. Walking towards them.
They smiled at her.
"Welcome to PIRATE QUEST HEADQUARTER.
This is where you'll be staying till tomorrow.
The quest begins 7am on the dot.
So you must be ready before the time".
They kept on looking at her.
"The game begins tomorrow 7am and ends tomorrow 5pm on the dot.
Keep that in mind",She points out.
"We'll do that Ma",Treasure said. Smiling and looking at the others.
He looks at Christiana. But she ignores him. On seeing her reaction towards him, Treasure felt strange.
His face became a bit dull.
"Follow me.
Let me show you your rooms.
The other schools have arrived".
Miss Angela leads them into the building.
They followed her.
"I'm so excited! ",Blessing said to Christiana. Christiana smiled happily.
They entered inside the building, and we're left astonished.
The inside of the building was amazing. It was decorated and arranged like a Pirate Island.
"WAW!! ",the girl in their team exclaimed.
"Oh my creativity! ",Blessing screamed.
"Amazed?
This is nothing compared to the people here",Miss Angela said.
As soon as she said that.
A group of people came swinging from up. Performing stunts like real pirates.
"Awesome!! ",Christiana exclaimed.
"Impressive",Treasure said.
The people performing the stunts were showing the other schools present, what it's like to be a pirate.
Miss Angela and the students looked up, on hearing someone speaking.
"Be gone ye sea barnacles!
Me never surrender when it comes to a fight. Argh! ",a man, dressed as a pirate captain said.
He was fighting with some people, dressed as pirates, on a big plank.
He got to the end of the plank, and jumped off it.
The schools present, thought he was a goner. But it was part of his trick.
He grabbed on to a rope, and came down.
They all clapped for him.
"Thank you
Thank you
You're too kind ",he said, taking a bow.
"Great job there Captain John ",Miss Angela commented.
The man turned back and saw her, with the students.
He smiles and walks up to her.
"Greeting me lady.
I see we have company ".
"Yes.
These are representatives from the Golden castle ",Miss Angela said. Showing Christiana and the rest to him.
"Well crack my bones and chew my lips. The Golden castle you say?
Well I've heard a lot about the castle's history. Terrifying hey? ",He chuckles.
Miss Angela smiles.
"Well count yourselves lucky young pirates.
Pray that your castle comes out victorious at the end. Haha!
Follow me".
John began walking.
The students didn't know why.
Miss Angela then said, "He'll lead you to your room.
So follow him,.. And best of luck".
"Thank you man! ",Blessing appreciated.
Miss Angela leaves, while they followed the man upstairs.
They got up, and saw different doors with numbers on it.
Indicating that they were rooms.
"So much creativity. It's nice here,don't you think? ",Treasure asked Christiana. But Christiana didn't respond. Instead, she was laughing will Blessing.
"Why isn't she responding?
This is not like her",Treasure thought to himself.
"You should be in your rooms in no time",John said. Walking through the spacious passage.
While they where walking,someone called out to Treasure from behind, "Treasure!! ".
It was a feminine voice.
The team looked back and saw a girl.
She was putting on a hat that Said' DIAMOND COLLEGE '.
Treasure smiled on seeing her.
"Lisa?!
You're here? ".
Christiana looks at him, then back at the girl.
Lisa walks up to Treasure, and embraced him tightly.
"It's so good to see you again! ",she said happily.
"And me too",Treasure also said.
The others didn't want to waste their time waiting. So they continued to follow John. Releasing his grip on her,Treasure looks at Lisa from head to toe.
"You're looking great. So you're now in Diamond college? ",he asked, while walking.
She follows.
"Yes,that's my school.
The best in the country",she said. Holding his hand.
"You just left Golden castle without telling anyone at all ".
"Ah yes, the Golden castle ",she said with disinterest.
"I had to, because the castle is so... Low for my standard.
You know that it doesn't soothe my taste.
Golden castle...
The founder should have named it Boring castle",she said.
Acting fancy.
Treasure smirks and faces forward. Looking at Christiana and Blessing, while they spoke.
"But you aren't there anymore right?
Which college are you attending? ",she asked curiously, while looking at his teammates.
Treasure chuckled and said, "Golden castle Lisa.
I haven't left the college ".
Surprised, she looks at him, then back at his teammates.
"Like seriously?!
The Golden castle?!
You are representing the Golden castle for the quest?
I'm.. I'm amazed",she said. Looking shocked.
She didn't want to believe that the castle was selected for the competition.
Curious, she asked Treasure again. And Treasure gave her the same answer.
"How's this possible?
Why this year? ",she asked in amazement.
"Just listen to yourself. Aren't you happy that the castle has been recognized after so many years?",he asked her.
Lisa smiled and said, "I'm happy.
It's just that I'm surprised, that's all".
"Well it's all thanks to the Incredibles.
If they hadn't saved the castle from the demons that showed up at the castle, everyone will still be calling the castle a cursed place.
We have even increased more than before.
We are more than 500 in that castle"
"How nice.
So... You guys are representing the castle.
Well good luck with that. Because you are looking at Pirate Quest's reigning champion",she said with so much pride.
Treasure scoffed and said, "Good luck with that.
Don't get too excited yet dear. The Golden castle are here now. And don't be surprised when we win tomorrow".
They stopped walking.
John shows them two room and says, "The boys can stay here, and the girls can stay in this room.
So take care pirates".
He walks away.
Christiana, Blessing and the other girl were about to enter the room. When Lisa said, gaining their attentions, "You know... This is your first time here. You guys don't know how its done here. But don't worry, I'll help you guys out".
She boasted.
Blessing and Christiana looked at each other, then back at Lisa.
Then Christiana asked, folding her arms, "Thank you very much, but do you work here?"
Lisa's mood changed suddenly.
"I mean.. No offence, but we don't know you at all",Christiana said. Putting on a smile.
Lisa smiles and says, "Yes, how would you.
I'm Lisa.
Pirate Quest's reigning champion. Won for my school four times".
"Impressive!
No wonder you're blabbing too much",Christiana said.
Lisa's eyes became wide. Treasure felt like laughing, including Blessing.
Lisa pretended to be fine with what Christiana said.
Just to act cool, and show who's better than who, Lisa said, "Yes, I have to blab about it, because I can't help it.
I'm too good you know.
I've been winning this competition like its nothing.
People cheer my name wherever I go.
I brought so much pride and glory to my school.
But.... "
She eyes Christiana.
"....looking at you, it seems as if you have never done anything great for the castle until now".
Lisa shooks her head.Acting sad.
Treasure wasn't pleased with what she was saying.
He wanted to speak back to her, when Christiana said, "So much achievement. What do you want me to do for you?
Should I hit my head on the wall and scream 'Lisa help! Teach me how to be a peacock!
Pls!! "
She demonstrated with her neck bending.
Treasure and the others were laughing.
Lisa became furious.
Then Blessing added to the drama.Using a deep voice, "Don't worry. Super Lisa peacock neck will save you.
First..",she bends her own neck too, "...let me straighten my own neck. It has fallen down like a tree, because of so much pride"
They laughed.
Lisa frowned and looked at Treasure.
She was upset with him, because he was laughing.
"Why are you laughing?
They're making fun of me",she said.
Treasure chuckled and said, "You should have thought of that, before speaking rudely about the Golden castle.
Yes.. You've won so many times, that's good.
But that doesn't mean that we...",he points himself and his team,"...can't defeat you this year ".
"Treasure?! ".She looks at him in disappointment.
"So good luck champ.
Let's see who wins the game tomorrow ",Treasure said, saluting her.
They entered inside their rooms. Leaving Lisa all alone.
She groans and begins to walk through the passage angrily.
She becomes upset, because she wanted Treasure to support her, and not his team.
"So what if he has his team.., he should have at least supported me. He knows that I'm going to win the game. He should have at least showed some love and support for me".
She folds her arm angrily and walks down the stairs.
"I've always loved him. But he just can't see it. He's blind".
Her mind goes to Christiana immediately. "And that girl that knows nothing about winning, insulted me right in front of him. And he supported her.
No, I won't accept defeat.
They want to see me in action tomorrow right?
So I'll show them what I'm capable of, by eliminating that girl, that.. Loser! "
She sparks angrily. Unable to get over the humiliation.
Night had fallen.The whole students present, sat down round the dining table.
A show was performed by the organization of the competition. Showing them what it's like to be a pirate.
So much excitement around.
After the show, everyone clapped.
"Before the food is served,I'll like to say something ",John said. Rising up from the high seat.
All the students faces him.
"The Pirate Quest will begin tomorrow, and I'm expecting each and everyone of you to be prepared for it.
Remember that you are presenting your school, by proving to everyone "The pirate quest will begin tomorrow,and I'm expecting each and everyone of you to be prepared for it.
Remember that you're presenting your school ,by proving to everyone that you're the best ".
Lisa, who sat close to John, began to show herself. So that all the students would see her.
"Our four time champion, Lisa, has proven herself already. And she's ready to prove it again",John praised Lisa.
Lisa smiles proudly, and faces Treasure and his team direction.
Christiana and Blessing didn't care at all, not even Treasure.
Mr John then said, looking towards Treasure and co,"This year,for the first time ever. The Golden castle would be participating in the pirate quest ".
All the students faces them.
Making them to feel awkward.
Lisa scoffs.
"This is the first time that the castle would be participating in the competition. So I hope your team are ready for tomorrow's game? ",he asks them.
Treasure Smiled and replied,"Sir, We were born ready.
We are always ready, no matter the challenge ".
"That's good. I love your spirit my boy",John praised Treasure.
Christiana scoffed and faced Blessing's direction.
Treasure saw her behavior, and it didn't please him at all.
He decided to speak to her later.
Seeing that it was 7pm, Lisa said to John, "Captain John!, it's 7pm.
It's time for the pirates' song".
"Oh yes!
The pirate song.
I almost forgot. Thank you Captain Lisa",he thanks her. She smiles proudly.
"Every year, around the pirate dining table.History has it that before food is served, the pirate captain sings a song, which motivates the crew to be more radical and prepared for anything.
Most especially food!! ",he laughs.
All of them laughed.
"Lisa has always been the one raising the pirate songs for the past four years.
And she has been doing it well ".
The praises kept on flowing, as Lisa's head continued to swell.
Christiana and Blessing noticed it. They began to laugh secretly.
"Peacock.
See.. See.., see neck.
Chai!",Blessing pointed out, and they both laughed.
While talking, John spotted the both of them laughing secretly.
He cleared his throat.Gaining their attentions.
Quickly, Christiana and Blessing composed themselves.
"It looks like the both of you are super excited about the pirate song right? "
"Huh?",the both of them responded, looking at him.
Everyone faced them.
Lisa smiles cunningly.
Wondering what they were doing.
John signals a man, holding a violin.
The man nods and hands it over to them.
Shocked, the two of them looked at the man, then John.
John removes his hat, and flings it like a Frisbee, towards Christiana.Who caught it immediately.
Treasure was confused.
Lisa too became confused.
"Sir..sir, what's this for? ",Christiana asked. Thinking they where in big trouble.
John smiled and said, sitting down on his seat, "Miss Angela had informed me earlier about your teams zeal in this game.
She told me that the representatives from the Golden castle were born pirates.
So..., I want you two to sing any pirate song".
"Oh my creativity!! ",Blessing said out loud.
"Say what?! ",Christiana was stunned.
Lisa became upset.
She asked John, "But sir, why give them the responsibility this year?
They don't know anything about pirate. This is their first time".
"Still, they have to sing",John said. He told them to sing.
Treasure groaned and said to Christiana secretly, "What will you do Miss naughty?
You got yourself into this mess.
I think you need my help".
On hearing this, Christiana frowned at him.
Lisa wanted to change John's mind.
She wanted to be the one to sing the song. That's when Christiana said out loud, "Okay sir.
We'll sing".
"Excellent choice.
Proceed",John said. Sitting very well.
Blessing panicked and draws her mouth closer to Christiana's ear. Saying, "Which song?
We got known".
"Don't worry.
Just use your creativity and come up with a tone with that violin.
I'll do the singing ",Christiana whispered.
Blessing smirked and said, placing the violin under her neck, "I like your style ".
Lisa saw that they were delaying. She wanted to speak up. But she was left stunned by the girls song.
Blessing began to play the violin.
It was melodious.
She tapped her feet on the floor. Dancing like a pirate.
Everyone became amazed. But the best part began, when Christiana started singing.
Treasure was left dumbstruck.
John became impressed.
Lisa was jealous.
As Christiana was singing, she was acting like a pirate.
She used the pirate language to sing and performed some stunts, while moving round.
All the students cheered.
Blessing followed her from behind. Playing the violin and dancing.
John was tapping his feet and laughing.
Treasure was staring at Christiana. She was looking amazing.
Christiana carried three plastic apples and began to joggle it.
She flinged them up and passed it to Blessing with her leg.
Blessing passed the apple like balls, one at a time, to Christiana.
She flipped backwards, towards John's side, and caught the three of them.
John laughed.
She continued to sing, and placed the hat back on his head.
Lisa scoffed angrily.
Treasure smiled.
Christiana and Blessing concluded the song, by shouting, "Argh! ",like pirates.
Everyone began to clap..
Treasure clapped loudly.
"That was amazing!!
Miss Angela was right about your team. You're indeed pirates"
He praised them.
Blessing and Christiana smiled happily.
Lisa was furious.
Someone, who sat close to her, said to another, "This pirate presentation is better than the ones that Lisa use to perform ".
Lisa becomes jealous.
She decided to deal with them,before they end up breaking her record.
Christiana and Blessing went back to their seat.
Christiana sat down and faced Treasure. He was staring at her sweetly.
She saw this and said,frowning at him,"Did you get your answer King of morons?.
I don't need your help in solving my own case".
"I know. You've proved it already ",Treasure smirked at her.
Christiana turns her face away from his side.
The food was brought,and everyone began to eat.
Lisa lost her appetite.
The sight of Christiana,made her sick in the stomach.
Unable to stand the sight of her,Lisa excused herself.
"I'm coming sir.I need to visit the ladies", she excused herself.
John shrugged his shoulder, while eating.
She stood up and walked up the stairs.
She headed for her room.Grumbling and insulting Christiana.
"Who does she think she is to steal my spotlight?
I won't spare her at all", She groans. Heading for her room.
When she got there,she met three boxes outside her room door.
She gasped.Remembering something
" The pirate outfit.They have brought it.
I almost forgot ",she said.
Lisa sighed and bent down to pick it.
" Tomorrow is the D day.
This outfit is very important ",she said.Carrying it up.
She decided to keep it inside the room,with her teammates own.That's when something struck her.
She looked at the boxes and smiled devilishly.
She chuckled and said,looking excited," Let's see how you participate in the game tomorrow ".
She enters the room.
Later,she joined them downstairs. Sat down and ate her food happily.
After eating,everyone got ready to go to sleep.So as to prepare for the game tomorrow.
Before they left,John passed an information to all of them quickly.
"When you get to your various rooms,.. You'll see a box at the front of your door.
It contains your pirate outfit".
All the students exclaimed happily. Wondering how each ones outfit would look.
" Make sure you keep it safe.
It's one of the most important part of a pirate.
So...good night and Good luck tomorrow",John said.
All the students quickly rushed to get to their room and see the outfit.
Christiana and Blessing headed for their rooms.
Blessing then said to Christiana, looking a bit dull,"Christy..,is it a must that we put on their own outfit?
Remember Adeola made her own pirate outfit for the both of us.
I..I don't want to hurt her feelings ".
" It's okay.We'll think of a way.We may or we may not put it on tomorrow.
Let's just wait and see",Christiana said.
Trying to make Blessing feel good
.They got to the room and saw the girl in their team,carrying the boxes.
She smiled and said,showing them,"I'm so happy.
The outfits are in here.
Our names are on it too.
So cool!"
The girl rejoiced and entered the room with the boxes.
Christiana and Blessing giggled at her behaviour. So they entered the room and locked it from behind.
Unknown to Christiana, Treasure was trying to reach her. He saw her entering the room,and decided to catch up with her.
He saw her laughing with Blessing, while entering the room.So he stopped.
He decided to leave her.
"She's looking happy now.
Who knows how she'll react when I speak to her.
No..it would be better if I speak to her tomorrow", he thought to himself, and went to his own room.
