Does he even know how many sons of noble families want to marry me? I know he does. He saw me looking through them, after all. So he should also be bragging that he has me.

So in a sense, almost everyone here is jealous of us.

"You're in the limelight yet again," he said, pulling me onto the dance floor. 

We were late to arrive as the ball had already long begun so we missed a lot of things but honestly, it's fine. There is nothing new with these events anyway.

I raised a brow. "When am I not?"

Lukas smirked in response as I hit the nail on the head.

"You are basking in it too, don't you know? They must be very surprised to see the haughty duke who despises gatherings like this appear."
