Capítulo 4: Alien Tech Weapons

~*~

Eight years underneath everyone's nose, a band of crimes created high-tech weapons with alien tech. Of course, Damage Control and the Avengers weren't aware of their criminal activity since they had been under the radar. They originally were just regular guys with families -- well -- some of them did anyway. Working on making weapons and gadgets with the alien tech, they had been stealing from the damage control department. Since the job happened to be Mr. Toomes' taking out a mortgage and going all-in on this job before they started going into a life of crime, it was not worried or a problem because he wanted to make sure nothing would get back to them since they lived under the radar, which would be better off. They didn't know about these high-tech weapons despite the fact Peter had tried to talk with Tony Stark.

Peter didn't know it did get through. Things were going weird, but now with one of the crimes shooting off one of the guns out in the open. Seeing purple light was enough for Peter to be heading out in that direction of where it came from though he mostly was swinging in and out of people's yards. Riding through the trees on the block up until he made it to a clearing, then ended up running, thinking it sucked. The criminals making the weapons were Herman and Jackson were going around selling the guns to Aaron Davis. Aaron didn't need the tech to shoot someone back in time more low key when he wants to stick up someone. Unaware of the fact Spider-Man hung upside underneath the bridge, they were selling the weapons realizing they were the same ones the ATM robbers used. Trying to listen in on what they were saying, only for his phone to go off while Aaron and Herman heard, wondering what the noise?

"Did you set us up," Herman asked, holding a gun at Aaron, who didn't know?

Before things started to take an ugly turn for the worse, Spider-Man jumped down, standing in front of them.

"Hey, if you are going to shoot at someone, shoot at me," said Spider-Man letting them know he was the one who caused the problem.

Herman ended up pointing the gun back at Spider-Man, shrugging, "Okay then."

Without giving it, a second thought started shooting at him, thinking it would be one less annoyance to worry about now. Jackson and Aaron began to go their separate ways while Spider-Man started dodging out of the course of the bullets. Herman sprinted towards the driver's side of the white van, starting it up with Jackson in the back, getting excited. Jackson started to firing the high-tech weapons at Spider-Man while his webbed the van's back door, trying to keep up with it. It didn't last long when Jackson shot at the door he had been holding onto, only for it to come off the vehicle.

Not before Jackson lost one of the weapons, knowing it would be essential to let Mr. Stark know about these things. At the moment, Spider-Man was trying to keep up with the vehicle with all the weapons going through different yards. Unfortunately, he scared two little girls while camping in the back yard heading inside after seeing his eyes glitching. Ned ended up wondering where Peter had disappeared, too, since he didn't know what happened? Only to have Jess asking Ned about where Peter had run off again since she wanted to talk with him about something. Ned went into an empty room to call Peter waiting for him to pick up the phone.

Only to get a voice mail, he decided to leave one on his phone, "Peter, where are you? Jess is looking for you because she wants to tell you something. Don't know the details. Just hurry back, okay."

Finally, coming up to the vehicle getting right where he wanted them to be, jumping towards the car's roof. Something stopped him from getting onto the vehicle watching around the corner then disappearing out of view. Spider-Man looked up to see someone with a bird-like costume taking him high up in the air, dropped from the sky. Screaming, Peter felt his suit beeping only to eject a para shoot from his back, which wrapped around him, knowing he had to get out of this. Iron Man suit came from the sky only to go into the river, pulling out Spider-Man taking him to a nearby park. Peter ringed out his mask with the water coming out, telling who thought was Tony inside about the winged suit guy and the weapons.

Tony, on the other hand, wasn't here with Peter though his suit had a microphone in place for him to communicate with him. Being out of the country and someplace warmer having to stay in hiding while they were moving everything from the Stark Tower to their new home. That was going be an Avenger's headquarters to be their new permit home to stay in since it would be better, less flashy. Peter wanted to be more than just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man since he planned to take down the winged suit guy and didn't want anything to screw it up. Tony wanted him to be low key about this and not worry about something the cops and FBI. Before ending the call with the suit, Tony's location with Peter called Ned, feeling bummed out over this.

"Hey man, I'm heading back to the party," said Peter on the phone with his mask back on.

Ned shook his head upon dealing with this, "I don't think that would be such a good idea, Peter, since Flash is making fun of you again. Michelle and Jess tried to keep him from the DJ equipment, but it didn't work out. Plus, Jess isn't here anymore. She left for home. I'm sorry, Peter; I guess we are still losers."

"Yeah, I guess," Peter said before hanging up the phone heading back to his apartment.

He was swinging back to his apartment, heading through the window, jumping down after closing it again, walking over to the bedroom door locking it. He had made sure his mask was off and suit with his PJs on before he approached, not wanting to have a repeat as he had with Ned. Sighing lightly, rubbing his forehead, looking out his window, seeing Jess was still up talking with someone on the phone, probably Michelle. She was fantastic tonight singing then stopped himself feeling confused about what his mind was thinking right now.

Liz was fantastic with him crushing on her while his mind would often wander over to Jess since he had met her in 6h grade. He was finding things to be confusing with who he truly wanted to ask to the dance if Peter was going to them how he felt? It happened to stress him out to a point where Peter jumped upon hearing his phone going off. He knew the person calling him. Since he had the ringtone happened to be "It's Not My Time" by 3 Doors Down, knowing it was Jess calling him.

Walking over to the phone, answering it, "Did I scare you, Peter?" asked Jess while giggling on the other end of the receiver.

"No, no, it's fine because I wasn't terrified. I'm just tired, is all," Peter fibbed to her while shaking his head, smiling at her, looking out the window again.

Jess was already in her PJs, smiling at him shaking her head, "Yeah, right, you jumped so far out of your pants it's funny. I missed you at the party tonight. What happened?"

"I needed to get some air. Otherwise, I listened to you sing along with Ned; you did an awesome job tonight, by the way. Uh -- Ned told me you wanted to talk with me at the party about something. What are you wanted to talk with me about Jess?" asked Peter trying to relax, not sure why he was anxious, to be honest.

Jess brushed her hair behind her ear before looking back out the window, "Liz liked how I sang at the party tonight along with everyone else, and she wants me to sing during the homecoming dance after when they announce the King and Queen of homecoming. I'm nervous about it since I'm going to be singing this."

"That's cool, Jess; I take it you are going to be going now because of this. I mean -- I don't know if someone asked you or not?" Peter started to feel his face get hot, probably with him blushing, unsure what to do right now?

Jess listened to him talking, "Peter, I'm not going with anyone because no one has asked me yet; I hope the guy I want to go does end up asking me, though. If not, then Michelle and I are going to go chill and have a good time there, hopefully seeing you and Ned there."

"Yeah, that would be nice to have the guy you want to go with you to dance, Jess, since I would like to see you happy, you know. Because it's a shame no one has asked you since you're the best friend anyone would want to have the pleasure of meeting," Peter said, feeling his heart skip a beat again, feeling like he was glad she didn't have someone.

Again he didn't get. He was secretly crushing on Jess, his best friend, since Peter never thought of her like that, probably because he wanted to ignore the feelings. Yes, it's silly and dumb to think that way about someone you've known for an extensive amount of time, but it's how Peter felt at this moment. Jess had figured out she had a crush on Peter when they were freshmen in high school, which was just last year.

Jessica felt her heart skip a beat when he told her since she was a great person to know and never thought people thought of her in that way. It honestly felt nice to hear something like this from her best friend she had learned from 6th grade and her crush. She could trust him and didn't think she could tell him how she felt towards him, and Peter felt the same way about Jess since he couldn't ruin their relationship.

"Thanks, Pete; I really can't wait to see you there at the Homecoming dance because I really would like to have all my friends there," Jess said to him, smiling softly at him.

Peter nodded, "No problem, Jessie, I wouldn't lie about something like this to you, especially when it's the truth."

Jess smiled more, "Well, we should get some sleep. Talk to you later, tomorrow Michelle and I are getting our Homecoming dresses. Sleep well, Pete."

"Yeah, I'll talk with you later and have a good time tomorrow. Sleep tight, Jessie," Peter said, waving at her before hanging up the phone.

Jess did the same before closing the curtains then walking over to her bed to sleep, thinking about the conversation, wondering if he was hinting at something before telling herself to not worry about it and go to sleep. Peter sighed lightly before hitting the hay, thinking about everything they had talked about, wondering if he should take his best friend or not? Having his hands behind his head as Peter stared up at the ceiling, thinking about how Peter planned? Should he tell her about being Spider-Man? He should, right?

I mean, Jess was his best friend, and she wouldn't tell someone about him being Spider-Man. Then another thought popped into his mind. It would be a bad idea for him to say to her since his enemies could hurt her. He didn't even like the idea of his other best friend Ned; knowing about him being Spider-Man thinking about everything started to make his brain hurt. He was rubbing his eyes before rolling over on his side facing the wall, thinking about just going to sleep right now and worry about this some other time.

Herman and Jackson went back to the warehouse where they had been staying and making the weapons with the alien tech. Their boss had made it back to the warehouse, first throwing his helmet to the ground while the Tinker had been looking at Peter's phone.

"Sir, your wife, keeps texting you about a brake light problem," the Tinker says to him while he had been currently working on the orders they had.

Toomes looked over at Tinker with a stern look on his face, "How many times have I told you to not look at my phone?"

"Sorry, you know I'm curious by nature," Tinker said in his defense while noticing the others came back.

Jackson jumped out of the back, excited, knowing it was astonishing what they had just done back there. Herman had told Toomes about what Jackson had thought it wasn't an idea to be shooting them out in the open like he was doing. Toomes had serious out too many times to count to move the merchandise under the radar, for it happened to be the only they survived.

"That was badass, you know right," Jackson said to Toomes and the others.

Toomes sighed before walking over to him, "How many times have told you not to shoot off the merchandise?"

"You said to move the merchandise --" Jackson was starting to say before Toomes interrupted him, "Under the radar, under the radar, that's how we survive out here. Suppose Damage Control or the Avengers come out here and find out what we are doing. Finished, and I have people I have to look after."

Jackson being a sarcastic jerk, didn't care for it, was going in one ear and out the other. Toomes could tell he wouldn't stop or get how serious he was about this, knowing he couldn't risk someone figuring out his operations for these alien tech weapons.

"You know what? I'm done with your crap. You're off the crew," Toomes said, knowing that letting him go would be the best thing for him.

Jackson shook his head before getting ready to leave, "You can't afford me with everything I know. Since I think your wife would like to know where you keep getting your money from honestly."

Toomes thought he grabbed the anti-gravity gun aiming it at Jackson, "You're right. I can't afford that."

Jackson got struck with the beam only to be turned to ashes right before everyone's eyes with a look of confusion on Toomes' wondering what just happened?

"I thought this was the anti-gravity gun?" Toomes asked Tinker, who was just confused about what just happened.

Tinker shook his head, "No, it's that one."

Pointing to a different gun knowing now he should've put labels on all the equipment for this because he felt responsible for what happened. Toomes to the gauntlet out of the ashes, brushing it off before tossing it over to Herman.

"Here now you be the Shocker, go figure out what happened to that weapon he had lost tonight," Toomes said to Herman.

Herman was brushing it off some more before listening to Toomes, "Yes, sir."

We are heading out to the white van to track down the weapon and bring it back to the warehouse.
