One of the two people staring at Caleb stood up with a big smile and approached him. He was relatively short, with big brown eyes, small freckles on his fair skin, and black hair. He was wearing his uniform which didn't fit him quite right as it was a tad too big for him making him look a little cute.
"Hi rommieee, how are you?? We have been waiting forever for you haha I am very glad you finally made it, my name is Kai, I love meeting new people, it could be considered one of my hobbies indeed, what is your name? Where are you from?"
This level of friendliness made Ty jump into the front seat and start yapping with Kai.
◇Dude, you do know there is another person there right?◇
"Oh I am so sorry but who is your friend over there?"- asked Caleb.
"We are not friends"- said the other person, he had a deep raspy voice.
He was still sitting down so you could not tell his height; he had reddish hair and two dog-like ears on his head, his skin had a caramel hue to it and he didn't turn his head so his eyes were unknown.
"Cyras is right, we are not friends, we are the bestest of friends. We met like an hour ago but I can tell he likes me, he even rolled his eyes when he told me to shut up! That means he was thinking of me! He's my brother from another mother, tell him that joke you told me, the one about a social battery running out haha it was hilarious"
"It was not a joke"- replied Cyras
"Hahaha always cracks me up when he's so serious"
◇Gosh, are we going to have to deal with these two forever?◇
"Nice to meet you Cyras, my name is Caleb, what do you like to do? Where are you from?"- Ty was being influenced by Kai's excitement and he was really chatty.
"Not you too"
Then the wall split open behind another bed and a tall slim guy walked in. He was incredibly handsome, he had green eyes, a sharp jawline, hony colored skin and wavy light brown hair. Ty met the stranger's eyes and immediately only one thought coursed his mind.
۶Damn۶
Then, as fast as the stranger appeared he left, without saying a word.
"He din't even say hi…"- said Kai with a palpable sadness in his voice.
Caleb and Kai talked until both fell asleep. Cyras would occasionally comment something or tell them to shut up and the stranger arrived at the room pretty late and went straight to bed.
Soon morning arrived and their classes would start soon. Caleb woke up and for the first time in a while, they had all slept at the same time. Caleb went to one of the two bathrooms in the room, took a shower, put on his uniform and left before Kai and Cyras woke up, however, the stranger had already left.
Their ID card showed them the way to their classroom and soon they were siting at the back of the class waiting for the rest to arrive. The class filled quickly with around a hundred students. They started to chat among themselves and no one approached Caleb as he was one of the heads of the tribes and people were between jealous and cautious of him. He could hear his name in some conversations here and there but he really didn't care.
Soon after, a tall bulky man with a heavy brown beard, brown long hair tied back, a black shirt and black trousers, entered the room and everyone went silent.
"My name is Mr. Lucian, not Lucian, not teacher, Mr. Lucian. I expect the best from you and I will not tolerate anything less. Do not get on my bad side and do not speak unless asked to, we wouldn't want to lose a student on the first day."
Everyone gulped and felt a chill running down their pine as Mr. Lucian wa very intimidating.
"We will start with the basics today, everyone here must at least know how to cast a spell either silently or audibly, everyone must at least know how to use one element but we will learn that elements can be combined to form new more powerful magic types. For example, what happens if when you cast a light spell you add shadow magic?"
Everyone remained silent until one of the nobles raise his hand. Mr.Lucian nodded for him to speak.
"Light and shadow magic cancel each other out so the spell would fail."- the kid had a smug look on his face which did not go unnoticed by Mr. Lucian.
"Sit down kid, that's wrong. It is true that light and shadow elements cancel each other out but that happens when the energy signature of the elements is different from each other, in other words, when they are cast by different casters. If the same caster uses both shadow and light magic in the same spell, the magic will evolve and it will become a celestial spell."
He then proceed to demonstrate. He put his open hand forward and a small black ball started to form on his open palm. The ball didn't get much bigger than a tennis ball but it was getting darker and darker until a small white thread started spreading into the shadow ball and a silver light flashed the entire room making the students advert their eyes. When the light subsided, instead of a shado ball there was a small crescent moon.
Then, from the floor an obsidian pillar raised slowly. The crescent moon then shot out to the obsidian pillar and cut it in thousands of small pieces in around a second. The speed of the ༒Crescent blade༒ was amazing that it left all the students in awe.
"That is what is known as celestial magic, however, you need to have an affinity for both light and shadow magic. In a few days you will chose your classes and I hope some of you meet the requirements to learn celestial magic, for those of you who don't, do not worry as there are several magic combinations. There is void magic, metal magic, chaos magic, life magic, death magic, blood magic, plague magic, sound magic, aether magic, crystal magic, gravity magic, just to name a few. I will not give you every combination as you'll learn those in time."
