"I love you and won't ever hurt you," Xander assured her once more.

He knew she was still hurt so much but now, for their mission to work, she needed to trust him completely and trust the fact that her safety was his priority.

"Yeah. I know." She gazed into his eyes, as though searching for answers to an unknown question he knew nothing of. "So, what do we do now?"

He did not wait long to ponder on her question before he replied, "We return home for now."

"Alright. I would respect your decision."

"Thank you. Oh and Jade, please, just in case of next time, do not do what you just did again. That was risky. I cannot have you been hurt."

"But I wasn't trained that way. I am not like a trophy wife or something that would just stay at home and wait for her husband."

His cheeks pulled upward to the left side a bit, as a lovely smile formed on his lips.

"What is that cheeky grin for?"
