"Can we be friends..." His eyes seemed to have shone brighter in the office with the question he used to throw her off guard. 'My mysterious tigress?' He completed his question in his mind, nevertheless, his words still left Jade speechless. 

'Wow, he is capable of making friends," Jade thought inwardly. 

"Why are you looking at me that way? I am only following your advice."

She did not know that she reflected her thoughts in her facial expression and it made him get a bit irritated. 

'Finally, something gets you off.' Jade thought again. 

"I said so, true, but I would have to think about it."

"Are you serious right now?"

"Yes. For all I know, your actions are questionable."

"They are not," Xander protested like a child. "If there is anything, I think I was pretty fair. I came to you openly about my intentions. It is not like I am hiding it from you like a coward."
