“Grayson....” Ari’s heart leapt when he walked through the door of the King’s office an hour later.

He crossed the room quickly and pulled her into his arms. Then his lips descended upon hers in a passionate kiss, obviously not caring who else was in the room.

The King cleared his throat.

Grayson smiled against her lips and then released her. “Father, thank you for getting me out.”

The king held out his hand for his son, and then pulled him in for a hug. “Son, I’m so glad you’re home safe.”

“How did you do it?” Grayson asked, releasing him. “How did you get me out so quickly?”

The king nodded toward Ari. “Your wife.”

Grayson’s eyebrows rose nearly into his hairline as he looked back and forth between them. “Ari? But how--”

“She gave me the information I needed to justify the check to Piers,” his father replied.

Grayson nodded, understanding. “AmericanMate.”

Ari leaned in close to him. “I’m sorry, but he needed to know.”
