Capítulo 182: Chapter 182: The Test

"Go talk to her," Jimmy said.

"But she already hates me. This is just going to make it worse," Alex said. "I should just wait until I know for sure."

Jimmy grabbed her shoulders from behind and propelled her towards Cart Two. "It's going to be fine. Just have a nice chat with her. Besides, if you wait any longer you'll get even skinnier."

Alex grumbled a few curse words as he pushed her along. It had been two days since the mountain pass. They had just stopped on the edge of the next city. They planned to eat a meal then pass through this one with guns drawn just in case it was inhabited.

Brooke turned towards them as they approached. Her hazel eyes gleamed golden in the fading sunlight. Her smile tightened as she watched Jimmy pushing Alex.

"Can I help you?" Brooke asked.

"The hybrid would like to ask you a medical question," Jimmy said.

Brooke bit the inside of her cheek as she waited.

Alex spun on him. "Yes, it's a personal medical question, so you should go."
