Capítulo 79: Recuperation
Dan opens his eyes to find himself on a hospital bed with a few stitches on his body, he sits up in bed and looks around noticing that he is the only one in the room, he turns to the table beside his bed and discovers a note with the words, "Out for a bit, be back soon." written on it.
He held the note his hand before placing it back on the table and attempting to get up; he struggles for a bit before finally getting on his two feet, it doesn't take long before he falls back onto the bed as he wasn't ab to balance himself, he was about to try standing again before a click is hears at the door with the knob being turned and the door getting opened, Dan looks up to see Sai and Ilara chuckling as they walked in, he noticed that they both also had a few bandages on but he was a tidbit happy to see them well and okay. Sai notices Dan trying to stand up from the bed and immediately rushes to his side.
"Whoa, don't try to stress yourself like that, you need rest."
Dan gives him a look with an expression bordering on amusement.
"What??.. I'm not a cold hearted person, you saved our lives, the least I can do is help you recover."
Sai remarks.
"How are you feeling."
Ilara asks as Sai helps Dan back into bed.
"I'm okay, you guys don't have worry about me."
Dan replies trying to sound cool.
"Uh-huh and you expect us to believe that??"
Sai says as he takes his sit on the couch that was placed close to the door with Ilara walking up the bed and sitting at the edge of the bed.
"Yeah I feel okay now, how long have I been out anyways??"
Dan asks.
"Three days… You've been unconscious for three days."
Ilara replied with a look of sadness on her face.
"What, three days??... How could I have been out for so long??"
Dan asks with an expression of disbelief and surprise on his face.
"Well yeah, the doctor was expecting you to stay unconscious for a longer period anyways, thankfully you are awake now though I'm not sure if you are fully recovered."
Sai remarks.
"But then how could I have been out for so long??...what happened to me??"
Dan questions still surprised that he was out for so long.
"Don't you remember what happened that caused you to pass out??"
Ilara asks.
"Well I remember us battling Crow and then you guys getting hurt, I remember Crow levitating into the sky and creating a huge meteor with which he wanted to use and crush us to death, I remember pushing you guys down and stopping the meteor with a metal summons but that's about it."
Dan recounts his memories from before he passed out with Ilara and Sai listening closely.
"Well after you summoned the gigantic pole to save us, you passed out cold. We tried waking you up but it was almost like you were close to dying, when we brought you here and the doctor checked you out he said that apparently you had stressed your variant genes beyond their current path causing your body to enter into a state of shock momentarily, he said it might take some time for your body to heal itself and also for your variant genes to get back to normal so it would be best you take it easy for a bit."
Sai seemed a bit worried as he spoke with Dan reclining himself.
"I guess I went a bit too far with the pole, didn't think it would have such an effect on my genes."
Dan remarks with his head down.
"Well it's okay now, all you need is a little rest and you'll be back to normal."
Ilara tries to cheer up Dan as she places her hand on his leg, Sai seems a bit bothered by Ilara's gesture and is about to speak up when a knock is heard on the door and a nurse walks in.
Capítulo 80: Administrative summons
"Oh hello nurse."
Sai greets with a charming smile.
"Oh my, the patient is awake, this is quite unexpected but it's good that it happened, I should check on his vitals. Please you both should go and call the doctor here."
The nurse says has she walks up the side of Dan's bed.
"Of course, uhmm Dan we'll be back soon."
Ilara assures as she walks out of the room with Sai following suit.
"They are really good friends of yours, right??"
The nurse chimes in breaking Dan's train of thought.
"What makes you say that??"
Dan inquires with a raised brow.
"Well ever since you were brought in, they have been here at the clinic almost all the time keeping watch over you. They both seemed really worried about you especially the girl."
The nurse responds with a smile.
"Oh… Well they are not my friends, we are just in the same team."
Dan replies without feeling as he lays back down in bed with the nurse raising a brow to what he had said before deciding to begin her analysis instead of asking any further questions.
Sai and Ilara are seen walking down the clinic hall, they go passed a turn and end up accosted by Yakob and Mae whom they saw standing at the waiting area seemingly waiting for someone, Yakob notice Sai and Ilara standing not too far from where they sat and waves at them with Mae also noticing and immediately walking towards them, Yakob follows after her meeting with Sai and Ilara where they stood.
"Hey, how have you guys been."
Mae asks as she walks up to Sai.
"Been good. Kinda surprised to see you here though."
Sai remarks.
"Why is that??"
Yakob asks.
"Well ever since you guys dropped us off here, you haven't come to see us even once so kinda surprised you'd come today. Except you aren't actually here to see us."
Ilara chimes in.
"Oh Sorry bout that, we've actually been really busy with clean up. Honestly we were always going to come and check on you guys."
Mae says.
"It's cool though, it's not like it was required that you come check on us anyways how's clean up??"
Sai asks attempting to change the topic.
"It's going great, we have cleared up most of the rubble and filled up most of the craters but I guess the landscape is changed forever as the trees are cleared up and the earth around that area is kind of unstable now."
Yakob replies.
"Oh, well I guess it should be no surprise if we take into account what went down there, I'd be surprised if there wasn't any permanent damage."
Ilara says as her mind began to wonder, Mae notices the look on Ilara's face and proceeds to ask her what the problem was.
"Is something wrong, you seem to be worried about something."
Ilara looks towards Mae as the question had startled her a bit.
"Yeah everything is OK but I and Sai were actually on our way to the doctor's office to call him for Dan, the nurse told us to get him so that he could examine Dan."
"Oh wow how is he??... I thought he wasn't supposed to wake up for a few more days."
Mae asks.
"He seems to be fine now but we cannot be sure until the doctor has examined him thoroughly."
Sai replies.
"I understand but I will need you to come up with me, Sai… the administrator wants to speak with you."
Yakob remarks with Sai and Ilara looking at him with questioning looks.
