Capítulo 21: Time for a jail break II
The warden sits at his desk grumbling to himself at how he was forced to stay up so late looking over people he would care less about.
"I'd rather be at home reading magazines than staying in this shithole."
He mumbles to himself, he is jolted out of his thoughts by the thud he heard at the door.
"I wonder what that is."
He thinks to himself.
"Anyone there??"
He asks but receives no response.
"Hmm."
The warden grows suspicious and reaches under his desk for his shotgun.
"Who's there??"
He asks as he rises to his feet.
"Still no response."
He mutters to himself as he cocks his gun and begins to slowly walk towards the door.
upon reaching the door, he hesitates to open it and asks one more time.
"Is anyone out there??"
The other side of the door remains dead silent.
"Why aren't the guards answering me??"
He wonders as he makes to open the door.
Just as he starts to turn the door knob the door is forcefully jerked open from outside and ends up making contact with the warden knocking him down and his gun out of his reach.
"The hell was that."
the warden says rubbing his temple.
"We need to talk."
Says a voice in front of him.
He tries to reach out for his shotgun but the gun is kicked away before he had a chance to pick it up.
He soon feels hands on his shirt which thugs him to his feet with force.
He struggles to get free but is only successful in agitating his captors.
He is dragged and tied to his chair before he settles down to look at the faces that had just manhandled him.
"You…. How did you guys get out of your cell??"
The warden asks.
Sai and Ilara look at each other with smiles on their faces before turning back to look at him.
"Where are you keeping the variant that was brought in today??"
Ilara asks in haste.
"I don't know who you're talking about. You guys should untie me and get back to your cell before your current situation gets out of hand."
The warden replies angrily.
"Sai, check the prison records and find out where Dan is being kept."
Ilara gestures to Sai who opens the wardens desk drawer and pulls out the prison ledger.
He goes through it for a while before looking back at Ilara.
"So…"
Ilara waits for a response from Sai, "he isn't recorded to be staying here….. It's like he isn't even in here."
Sai replies with a worried look on his face.
the warden let's out a hearty laugh before commenting.
"You guys don't seem to realize the forces you are messing with… your precious Dan is not here and I'll never tell you where he is, so it's best you leave now while you still have a chance of escaping."
The warden remarks with a smile.
Sai and Ilara are not happy about what he had just said and are about to leave when Ilara stops and places her palm on the ground.
"What is she doing we need to get out of here now."
Rani says as she stands outside the office.
"Yeah babe what are you doing??"
Sai asks as well.
"Echolocation."
Ilara replies.
"I'm trying to locate Dan using sound waves, I'm not really good at it and I can't reach a wide area but I'm counting on his metal based abilities to return the sound I just sent out."
The warden struggles to get free so as to stop her but is unsuccessful.
"Are you sure it's going to work??... I mean this prison is pretty big."
Rani remarks with doubt.
"We are all in the same building at this point, the prison itself is big but it comprises of several buildings, I'm just checking this one and…"
Ilara trails off as she picks up something.
"What's wrong??"
Sai takes note of her changed countenance.
"I've found him and I can tell something is not right with him."
Ilara replies as she gets up and starts to walk towards the warden.
"Hey why are you coming towards me like that??"
The warden is thoroughly frightened and struggles to get free but Ilara walks up to him and delivers a big slap to his face that calmed him down immediately.
"I'm only going to ask this once; where are you keeping him??"
Ilara asks in a menacing tone.
"In the basement."
The warden replies with fear in his voice.
"what is he doing there??"
Sai asks inquisitively.
"You guys don't actually think it's the right authorities that ordered for his arrest, right??... He touched the wrong people and now he is being conditioned to work for them."
The warden replies in a sadistic tone but is not left laughing for long as Ilara proceeds to knock him out with a punch.
"We need to go and help him."
Ilara remarks as she adjusts her fist and turns to look at Sai.
"Let's go."
Sai says as they all leave the office and lock the door behind them…

Dan feels light and can't think straight.
"Where am I??.... Why am I tied up to this board??"
He realizes he is being held down by belts and proceeds to try and break free, whilst struggling he hears a voice.
"It's pointless to struggle. You won't be able to make use of your variant ability for a couple of hours and by then I'd be done with the conditioning."
The figure says as he steps forward.
Dan struggles to make out the figure before him. He seemed to be a doctor because of his medical attire but then…..

Sai and Ilara rush down to save Dan and encounter more guards as they make their way to the basement.
"We have to be careful so as to not cause alarm in the prison."
Sai remarks as he held on to a guard via a choke hold and then proceeded to let him go after he had passed out.
"Yeah, let's not waste any time."
Ilara replies as she rose from her hold on a guards throat using her legs.
Rani stands by and is amazed by the level of composure and skills they had.
"Come on."
Sai calls out to her breaking her train of thought and they continued on their way….

Dan feels an injection piercing into his vein and struggles even more.
"Who are you and why are you keeping me here??"
Dan asks.
"I'm the resident doctor of this building… I was sent to help you by my superiors, apparently you are worth a lot to Karan and he did not dim it fit to kill you and so decided on a conditioning your mind to submit to his control."
The doctor answers has he gets about fixing up another injection.
"Really??…. Do you bastards think you'd just give me a few drugs and I'd be on your side??.... Well you are mistaken asshole cause the moment I get out of this, I'm gonna make you pay for trying to help those murderers."
Dan struggles with his chains as he threatens the doctor.
"You won't be getting out of those binds on your own, fool. So it's better you save your strength for what's about to come next."
The doctor says as he puts up another injection with a strange looking liquid and begins to move towards Dan but stops abruptly having heard a sound at the door.
Dan also hears the sound and is curious to know what caused it. The doctor drops the injection and walk towards the door but then the door is kicked open from outside to reveal Sai and Ilara along with Rani.
The doctor tries to attack them but is knocked out by Ilara's bird cry…
"How did you guys find me?? And who is that??"
Dan directs both questions to Ilara.
"Slow down a bit….. We found out where you were from the prison warden and she is Rani."
Ilara points to Rani who then proceeds to wave at Dan.
"Hi" Rani waves cheerfully.
"If that's all, we have to be going now before the guards wake up or someone realizes we are missing."
Sai comments in a haste as he cuts off the last bind holding Dan and proceeds to hold him up.
"Can you still use your metal based abilities??"
Sai asks.
"No, whatever that doctor did to me, I don't think I'll be able to use my abilities for a few hours."
Dan replies with a tired look on his face.
"We should get going, I know a route we could take to leave this place without getting caught."
Rani is standing outside the basement, gesturing for them to follow her.
"Let's go."
Ilara holds on to Dan and they all walk out together...…
TIME : 8:05AM
LOCATION : CALOS CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT.
"What!!!" Gr'egor is fuming.
"How could you let them escape??"
He says into the receiver.
The voice on the other end sounds pretty weak and afraid.
"I honestly don't know how they got away."
Gr'egor seems to be having none of his excuses and proceeds to yell at him even further.
"Do you know what you have done??.... I had kept them there so that their lives won't be in danger but you let them get away, what's more they took another inmate with them… an inmate that has been causing trouble for Cheng, do you know what would happen when Cheng finds out about this, he is gonna kill them both, how could you have made such an error."
Gr'egor is seen pacing the room frantically quite upset by the news he had just received.
"Sir I can assure you that we took measures to make sure they don't escape..i just never took into account the fact that they might get inside help."
The voice gives more excuses.
"I have nothing more to say to you sine you don't seem to realize the gravity of what you've done…. Do not worry, I'll take care of them and you better pray to whatever you believe in that Cheng doesn't end up killing them because of your stupidity."
Gr'egor says after which he drops the cell.
"Why did they do this…. I'm sure they'll end up putting themselves in more trouble, I need to get them back."
Gr'egor thinks to himself after which he picks up his cell and dials a number.
"Send in Jonah and KK, I need to speak to them."
Capítulo 22: Counselling session
TIME : 9:43AM
LOCATION : UNKNOWN ( ????? )
Dan awakens with a throbbing headache, putting his right palm on his temple and rubbing it trying to get some comfort.
"You're awake."
Ilara remarks with a smile on her face, she sits not too far from his bedside.
"How are you feeling??"
Dan looks at her and replies rather reluctantly.
"I feel better, thanks."
He tries to get up from the bed but is unable to as he staggers to stay up, Ilara rushes to his side and helps him back into bed.
"You should stay in bed, you need your rest… whatever that crazy doctor did to you would take some time to wear off."
She remarks has she proceeds to pick up a glass of water and hand it to Dan, who takes it with a suspicion.
"Why are you helping me like this??..... I mean you hardly even know me, why go through such trouble because of me??"
Dan asks, Ilara smiles at his question and goes back to take her seat.
"I know you might feel a bit weird because you might feel that I don't know you and thus I shouldn't be helping you but you should realize that I have strong enough reasons."
Ilara replies as she crosses her legs to put herself in a corporate position.
"Please do enlighten me on these reasons that you might have."
Dan says has he straightens himself in bed.
"No no, you won't have your way so easily like you did the last time, when you talk then I'll talk."
Ilara adjusts herself ready for Dan to speak.
"Is that so??.... OK then, what do you wanna know, at least you deserve that much for helping me though to be honest I was satisfied with staying in the penitentiary if I hadn't found out that Cheng wanted to brainwash me into working for his men."
Dan seems to have put on a serious expression has he looked on at Ilara.
"Let's with the basics, what's your name and I mean your full name, don't lie to me."
Ilara questions.
"Daniel Ruso."
Dan replies calmly.
"Which means that you are related to De'sant and Mikam Ruso."
Ilara pulls a notepad out of the chair she is seating on.
"Yes, they are my parents, well they were before their deaths….by the look of things you already know this so why are you asking me??"
Dan asks putting up an eyebrow.
"Just had to be sure."
Ilara replies with a smirk.
"Anyways, I thought all members of the Ruso family were killed, how come you survived??"
Dan contemplates answering the question.
"This doesn't help with your case, why don't you try to stay on track and not ask questions that don't concern you."
Ilara rolls her eyes and sighs.
"Of course".
"is he still alive??"
Sai asks as he watches Rani examine Jace.
"well yeah but he is unconscious cause of the condition you guys left him in two days ago, I mean you guys are really harsh."
Rani replies with a chuckle.
"well we didn't really foresee getting arrested so it's technically not our fault."
Sai remarks with a chuckle while also placing his palm on his head, Rani looks up at Sai and gives him a big smile.
"Well he'll be fine, he just needs some glucose in his system, I think I can get those at a pharmacy."
Sai nods his head.
"Alright then, there's a pharmacy close by, you could go there and get what you need."
Rani gets up and attempts to walk but accidentally trips and falls into Sai.
"Oh sorry bout that."
Sai says has he tries to step back but is unable to as Rani holds on to him and rests on his chest.
"This is nice."
Rani comments has she snuggles up closer to Sai, Sai begins to feel uncomfortable and frees himself from her hold.
"I have a girlfriend and we have work to do, let's get going."
Sai remarks has he begins to walk out of the room.
"Fine."
Rani sighs has she follows suit.
"What else do you want to know??.... I am an open book at this point."
Dan says with a weary smile.
"You don't have to lie to me, I know how much this session is upsetting you, but you'll just have to answer my questions as payment for saving your life….. Anyways back to our session, how did you get into jail??"
Ilara pries further.
Dan becomes uncomfortable and shifts his face.
"they killed them, they took away my second family just as they did the first."
Ilara puts up an eyebrow.
"What exactly are you talking about here??"
Dan looks back at her with a mixture of sadness and anger in his eyes.
"Karan and Armstrong, Cheng's top dogs killed the family I was staying with at the outskirts of the city because they felt I was a threat…. They took everything from me a second time."
Ilara can't help but feel bad for him.
"That's why you've been so sad and depressed lately, because you blame yourself for their deaths…. I'm really sorry you had to go through all that."
Ilara stands up from her chair and sits beside the bed.
"I should have saved them, but they made me so helpless…. I watched them die and I couldn't do anything to save them."
Dan says has tears begin to roll down his eyes, Ilara takes hold of his hand and he looks up at her…
"How is he??"
Sai asks Ilara has she comes out of Dan's room.
"He's broken both emotionally and physically….he is gonna take some time to recover completely."
Ilara replies with a tone of pity.
"You don't sound so happy, did he not cooperate with your questions??"
Sai collects the notepad Ilara carried with her and went through it.
"Actually he did and it went smoothly for the most part, I just feel really bad for him."
Ilara says as she and Sai begin to walk down the hall into another room.
"Why do you feel bad for him??"
Sai questions with curiosity.
"He's been through a lot Sai, I mean I can clearly understand now why he is the way that he is…. And it's all thanks to Cheng and his loser cronies, we have to bring him down Sai, we just have to."
Ilara takes a seat and places her face between her palms.
Sai takes a cue from that and pulls her closer to himself after dropping the notepad he was carrying.
"We'll bring him down, don't worry about it…. So many crimes committed by one man and yet he still stays in a seat of power, this makes me question the very structure of our society."
Sai remarks has he continues to hold Ilara.
Ilara puts her head up for a bit to gaze at Sai who gives her a smile, she kisses him and then proceeds to pull herself from his hold.
"Where is your hot nurse??.... I don't see her around."
Ilara teases has she walks towards the fridge and grabs some biscuits.
"She's not my nurse and she ain't that hot, anyways she is out getting some stuff to use and resuscitate Jace."
Sai chuckles at the thought of the fact that Ilara was actually jealous of Rani.
"Well she does certainly think you are and she is not scared to show it."
Ilara walks back to the couch and takes a seat before resting her head on Sai's laps.
"You know I can understand you being jealous but at least be jealous over someone that is worth it, I mean Rani, no way."
Sai says has he chuckles some more and proceeds to take a biscuit from Ilara but she slaps his hand away.
" Nuh-uh, go get your own."
Ilara remarks with her tongue out.
"Brutal, babe."
Sai comments has he begins to laugh also causing Ilara to join in the laughter.
"I think I'll have to go over to our place to get a few things."
Sai remarks has he gets dressed.
"Alright then, I'll stay here and keep watch over Dan as well as wait for Rani to get back…. You be careful now, I'm pretty sure someone would be looking for us."
Ilara walks up to him and helps him button his shirt.
"I'll be heading out now, see you soon."
Sai bends low and pecks Ilara.
"You have fun."
Ilara says with a smile after which Sai steps out of the building they were in and into the streets...….
