Capítulo 12: Brawling at the club
Dan walks into the club and scouts the area for his prey.
"There you are."
Dan says the moment he spots Jace and immediately heads towards him.
"Who is that heading towards Jace??... Do you recognize him??"
Sai asks into his receiver.
"I don't know who he is but I have a bad feeling about this.."
Ilara replies has she begins to walk towards Dan.
"Excuse me sir, can I help you??"
Ilara asks, blocking Dan as she does so
"Not really, I'm here to see a friend regarding some pressing matters, so if you'd be nice enough to excuse me, I'd appreciate a lot."
Dan replies shoving Ilara aside as he does so, Sai sees this and begins to rise again before Ilara motions for him to stay back.
"Jace, my man, where you been bro??"
Dan calls out to Jace as he reaches the table he and his boys occupied.
"Who are you and why are you talking to me like you know me from somewhere??" asks a perplexed Jace.
"Hey don't you remember me??...its fine don't worry about it but right now I need you to come with me."
Dan says as he reaches out to grab Jace but is stopped by one of Jace's men who then proceeds to get up and push Dan back, Dan is not to pleased with this gesture and tries to grab Jace again but this time two men rise to assist the first man that had pushed Dan back.
" I don't know who you are and I don't care but if you don't leave here right now my men are gonna take you out in a body bag, choose carefully."
"This is getting out of hand, we have to do something."
Sai remarks rising from of his seating position.
"Do what exactly??... If we try to interfere we risk blowing our cover."
Ilara says, visibly upset by the drama unfolding in her presence.
Dan smiles with scorn in his eyes at the threat made by Jace and his men.
"Are you coming with me or will I have to drag you out of here??"
Dan asks with arms folded.
"That's enough, take him out of here and rough him up a bit."
Jace's men reach out to take hold of Dan but that seems to be a bad idea has Dan grabs one of them and breaks his fingers, the man proceeds to scream in pain after which other guys attack Dan and a full brawl ensues between Dan and Jace's lackeys.
Dan steps back ready for a fight and gets down to serving up pain to every single one of Jace's lackeys, he grabs one of them then lifts and slams him on a nearby table breaking the table in the process, he blocks a punch from another and retaliates with a blow of his own, knocking out some tooth in the process, he dodges a kick from yet another then immediately grabs it and proceeds to twist his leg before kicking his other leg and breaking it in the process before letting the first leg go and kicking him with such force that it sent him flying all the way back to Jace's table and breaking it.
Two men attack this time and Dan keeps pace with them, blocking their kicks and blows before doing a back flip and using his legs to connect with their chins, spittle mixed with blood proceeds to come out from both men mouths has they fall unconscious, with the brawl happening between Dan and Jace's men, the club was plunged into chaos with civilians running for their lives while Jace's other associates rushed to Jace to provide assistance.
"Damn it, Ilara, what are we gonna do now??"
Sai is visibly annoyed by the recent turn of events and is not trying to hide it
"Jace might wind up escaping in the chaos if we don't grab him now."
Ilara looks on as well at the ongoing brawl.
"I'm going in and there's nothing you'll say that's gonna stop me."
Sai says, has he makes to rush into the fight.
"I'm not gonna stop you, provide cover for me so I can grab Jace."
Ilara seems to have changed from her waitress attire and was also rushing into the fight.
"Ha-ha, now you're speaking my language."
Sai says rushing up to one of Jace's lackeys that tried to obstruct him and landing such a heavy blow to knock him out cold, another lackey rushes up to him with a knife and he steadies himself, blocking the knife and knocking it out of his attacker's hands, he then jerks his attacker up and delivers a barrage of blows to his groin before using his palm to land a finishing blow that sends his attacker flying into a table and breaking it on impact.
Ilara is not left from the free for all has she soon encounters her own hurdles in the form of two men wielding blades, they swing their weapons to put her off but she is unfazed by this and steps back to release a bird cry that stuns them both, rendering them unconscious, she then picks up one of their blades and uses it to fend off another attacker with a sword of her own, they clash with their blades for a while before Ilara gains the upper hand and disarms her opponent, before kicking her away with a heel to the face.
Jace notices that his men are dropping like flies and immediately starts to flee for his life, Dan sees this and goes in pursuit, following Jace through a passageway that led outside the club.
"He's getting away."
Sai says as he holds on to a man trying to choke him, Ilara takes out another lackey with her bird cry before looking in the direction Jace had used to escape.
"I'm going after him" Ilara says has she starts running in that direction.
"I'm coming with."
Sai says, following Ilara.
Jace is seen running out of the club into an alleyway, with Dan hot on his heels, the chase goes on for a while with Jace cutting through alleys to try and lose his pursuer, but this does nothing to put off Dan has he only seems to be getting closer, Jace finally stops having ran himself into a corner.
"Well well, would you look at that ,you succeeded in running yourself into a dead end."
Dan says in a sadistic tone, Jace pulls out a gun and aims it at Dan.
"Don't you dare come close to me or I'm just gonna empty this bullet round in your brains."
Dan is amused by Jace's threat and immediately starts walking towards him.
"stay back, I'm not gonna say it again, you better stay back."
Dan keeps on walking and a shot is fired, Dan reacts quick enough to grab the bullet midair before it reaches his head, Jace is taken aback by this and immediately starts shooting rapidly, Dan puts his hands to his head to block his face has he rushes towards Jace with killer intent, Jace empties the gun's rounds and is left clicking an empty gun, after which Dan grabs the gun from his hands and knocks him out using his elbow to connect with Jace's chin.
Ilara and Sai come just in time to see Dan taking Jace away.
"Hey, stop right there."
Ilara calls out to Dan, Dan turns to face them.
"What do you want from me??"
Sai begins to walk up to Dan.
"You're infringing on our case at the moment, that guy laying unconscious on the floor over there was a suspect and we were planning on bringing him in for questioning before you showed up and ruined everything."
"Oh really, I didn't realize but then I don't actually care about what you guys were planning on doing… if you were gonna do something, you shouldn't have waited until I had set the floor for you so all you'd do would be to wait till the hard part was done before you step in, so I'm going to be leaving with my captive now, when I'm done with him then you can have him."
Dan starts to walk away with Jace on his shoulder but is stopped by Sai.
"I won't tell you again, drop him or you'll regret messing up a perfectly laid out plan."
"Just you try and stop me."
Dan says in a menacing tone.
Dan tries to shove Sai from his way but is unsuccessful has Sai grabs a hold of his arm.
"Drop him…"
Dan drops Jace and makes to punch Sai but Sai evades the attack and lands a punch of his own, taking Dan back a bit
"I'll make you pay for that" Dan says has he attacks Sai, Sai moves forward as well and both men end up clashing.
Sai and Dan go at each other with intent, Sai seems to have the upper hand as he lands more blows on Dan but Dan is not letting up in his assault, Sai bends low and tries to bring Dan down with a sweep of his feet but Dan is quick to counter with a backflip but has he lands he is greeted with a barrage of bicycle kicks from Sai which sends him back even further, Sai smirks and rushes towards Dan but Dan having none of it strikes the earth beneath them causing a mini vibration that offsets Sai, Dan taking advantage of Sai's imbalance to attack with metal bars that connected with Sai and took him down, Dan then attempts to run towards him but is stopped in his tracks by Ilara.
"That's enough."
Ilara walks up to Sai and helps him to his feet.
"Thanks love."
Dan seeing this steps back and heads to Jace's body.
"The fact that I haven't said anything doesn't give you the right to go any closer to that man, I will only tell you once, leave."
Ilara says with a serious expression on her face.
"Or else what??"
Dan asks with a smirk after which Ilara proceeds to blast a sonic wave in his direction putting him off a bit.
"You're gonna have to better than that if…"
Dan is cut off mid sentence has Sai blindsides him with a metal pipe, knocking him out.
"what are we gonna do with him??"
Sai asks Ilara.
"We take him with us, we need to find out why he was after Jace and if he has any information that could be helpful to us."
Ilara replies as she looks over Dan's unconscious body.
"alright then, you're the boss"
Sai says.
Capítulo 13: Fated meeting
TIME : 6:08AM
LOCATION : UNKNOWN ( ????? )
[ Flashback ]
"Again."
A younger Dan dressed in training attire is seen trying to move an iron bar with his mind and wave of his hands but it doesn't seem to budge.
"Again!!"
A wizened Raza yells has he seats on a mat with his legs crossed and a cup of tea in his hands.
"Isn't there a better way to do this??.... The bar is not budging at all."
Dan complains with a look of defeat on his face.
"You asked me to teach you to control your power, now I'm teaching you and you are complaining??"
The old Raza doesn't appreciate Dan's complaints in the slightest.
"What can I do??....I've been trying to move this bar for so long with my mind I think my brain is cramping."
Dan says as he then motions to touch his temple like as though it was actually aching to drive home his point.
"That is because you keep trying to fight with your ability, trying to forcefully control it, but that's not gonna work, my boy…. Clear your mind and stop trying to fight, feel the metal in you and you'll have succeeded in breaking past the first path of your ability.".
Dan listens attentively, taking note of everything the old Raza taught him.....
[ Flashback ends ]
Dan opens his eyes to see himself in a room, tied fast to the chair in which he sat, he looks around but is unable to make out much has the room is poorly lit, he is left wondering where he is but his train of thought is broken by a click on the door, after which the door is opened and Sai walks in with Ilara.
"Hey there, how are you feeling??"
Sai asks has he takes a seat in front of Dan with Ilara following suit.
"What is this, this place doesn't look like a police cell or even an interrogation room, are you guys even cops??"
Dan asks has he strains his eyes to catch a glimpse of Sai and Ilara 's faces.
"We are cops albeit suspended at the moment, anyways ,you tried to kidnap Jace last night, why??"
Ilara asks.
"You don't really think that I'm actually gonna talk, right??" Dan asks in amusement.
"This is not an interrogation, I know this is our first time meeting but I can tell you're not a bad guy, so how about we do it like this, we tell you who we are and why we were after Jace after which you'll reciprocate with same" Ilara replies calmly.
Dan is quite shocked by this at first looking at Sai, with Sai just shrugging his shoulders in response.
"You're being serious…. OK then, go ahead."
Dan remarks after which he breaks the ropes binding him, Sai and Ilara are unfazed by this and go ahead with what they were about to do.
" My name is Ilara and this is my partner Sai, what's your name??"
"Dan"
Dan rests back on his chair and makes himself comfortable.
"Sai and I were investigating a case involving a smuggling ring here in Calos which led us down a really deep rabbit hole, trailing all the way down to some really murky waters, discovering the fact that Governor Cheng might be the leader of this network of bad people that have stayed hidden for so long, unfortunately we were caught out before we could make any headway after hitting a lot of dead ends in the investigation which then resulted in our subsequent suspension."
"Ilara is right, but we decided we won't let our suspension stop us from trying to solve the case, that was why we were after Jace last night, so your turn."
Sai chimes in, Dan looks at both detectives in front of him and suddenly let's out a mock laugh.
"I can't believe you guys just did that, anyways, if that's your way of trying to get me to trust you, I'm sorry but you've failed woefully."
Dan says in between gulps of laughter, Sai is visibly offended by this and gets up to leave.
"I knew this was a mistake trying to be nice, we should have just interrogated him like normal cops."
Sai says to Ilara in an angry tone.
"Sai, wait…"
Ilara stares at Dan for a while before letting out a smile.
"I don't know why you are behaving like this but it's fine, I will not force you or try to cajole you to say what you don't wanna say Dan, So you do whatever you feel is right."
Ilara rises from her seat and leaves the room Sai following after her and closing the door behind them, Dan is left amused and wondering what just happened to him....
TIME : 9:13AM
LOCATION : JOCULE CLUBHOUSE
"what happened here last night??"
An officer asks one of the employees of the club.
"I'm not really sure, officer, all I can say is that it looked a clash between gangs though I have no idea on which gangs were involved."
The club from the night before was crawling with cops has they surveyed the area, while others questioned the employees present at the club the night before, passerby's were left wondering what had happened but were not allowed to come close for a better look has the area being investigated was completely taped off from the public eye.
"Can you make out the faces of any of those involved in the fight from last night".
"Yes actually, if I can remember properly, the man that started the fight was a blonde wearing a red hoodie jacket, I can't really describe his facial features but that much I can remember."
Two suited men stand at a corner, overhearing what the witness said.
"we have to inform Karan and Armstrong about the recent turn of events, let's go"
They leave before they can hear the remainder of the witnesses breakdown of the night before...
TIME : 10:39AM
LOCATION : UNKNOWN ( ????? )
"wake up sleepy head."
Jace is awoken with a bucket of water poured on him.
"What the hell."
Jace looks up to see Sai and Ilara with a bucket of water.
"Who the hell are you guys and what do you want from me, most importantly, why the hell did you wake me up like that??"
Sai takes a seat in front of him has Ilara dropped the bucket she was carrying and took her seat as well.
"Jace right??"
Sai asks.
"What's it to ya."
Jace asks while trying to free himself.
"Don't bother trying to break free, it took a variant breaking the knot to get loose, you won't be getting that chance… anyways, the reason we brought you here is to ask you a few questions, I do hope you can cooperate with us."
Ilara remarks in a calm tone.
"Go fuck yourself whore, I'm not ratting out my employers … you guys don't know how much trouble you're in for what you've done to me, when I leave this place, my employers are gonna make sure you regret ever taking me captive in the first place."
Jace says as he bursts into a dry laugh.
"Is that so??.... Well until then, but for now we have you in our custody and so, we are gonna make sure you tell us everything about Cheng and his circle…. So it's either we do this the easy way or the hard way and to be honest, I really hope you choose the hard way."
Sai says with a menacing grin on his face after which Jace's face has fear written all over it, looking at Ilara who shrugs him off with a smile....
