The night after Michael came home from his old school, the boy threw himself on the bed. Since he broke the record for the highest score in the province, the headmaster had been nagging Michael to come to school.
Michael confirmed his sleeping position then took out his cellphone from his jeans pocket. Without a second thought, his hand pressed a number he had not dialed in a long time.
Hearing the dial tone sound from his cell phone made Michael's palms sweat. When the boy felt that his phone might not be picked up, he heard a girl's voice.
"Hello?"
Michael frowned then pushed the screen away from his ear. The frown on his forehead deepened as he made sure that he hadn't mistakenly dialed other people's contact.
"Who are you? I want to talk to my father," Michael replied.
