Capítulo 103: Compromise

"Milord," Samantha called the King again when he did not respond for a long time. He had been staring at her for quite some time, and Samantha did not know what to make out of it. His gaze was as intense as ever and though she wanted to avoid meeting him in the eyes, she was still waiting for his response.

"Samantha, who would speak ill about the throne?" Alastair replied after observing the girl for a while. "Do you think anyone could get away with it after insulting the King?"

Although this was not the response she was looking for, his words did ease her tensed body a little. She relaxed and smiled for the first time since the journey towards the castle had started. And at once, the powerful man was charmed by her smile. The girl looked like the angel she was, her green eyes shining like gemstones. Her golden locks flew with the winds, and Alastair just tilted his head, taking in the beautiful sight in front of him. The girl was truly an angel, his angel.
