"We need to talk." She would say, now wearing her cop face.
Byung was quite surprised by this sudden switch and could not hide it. Hayoon quickly picked on this and began talking.
"Well, I do not think I should be doing this but I have information regarding the two people that were after you." Hayoon began the conversation.
"That is good news! Are they in custody?" Byung asked, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
"..... I do not know how to explain this but they came after me, to gather information about you," Hayoon responded, sounding worried.
"What!? Are you okay, they did not hurt you, did they!?" Byung shouted, jumping out his bed, and this somewhat startled Hayoon as she did not expect such a reaction.
"N-No, I am fine." She replied. The hesitation was clear in her voice.
"Phew! Thank goodness! Do you know where they are?" Byung quickly asked.
"I had them in my custody, but the building in which they were housed was found collapsed and a person named Jin-Hyuk, who I was certain died, was not found... But the lady said attacked you was dead beneath the rubble. It was really... graphic." Hayoon said with a disgusted expression but this did not draw any notable reaction from Byung.
"What does any of this have to do with me? Or am I being suspected again?" Byung responded, letting out an exhausted sigh from his dry lips.
"No! Not at all! Let me explain everything." Hayoon would proceed to tell him in detail about what had occurred. From how they encountered her on the street, to the suicide and the supposed disappearance of Jin-Hyuk alongside Chaewon's death.
"Man, this is a lot to take in," Byung muttered upon the revelation, looking overwhelmed with this sudden cumulation of information.
"Do you, by any chance, have knowledge about a key?" Asked Hayoon, hoping to get valuable information from him.
"Definitely!" He replied. This made Hayoon inch forward like an anxious waiting to be told a secret.
"My house key." Byung continued with a deadpan expression and Hayoon's face of anticipation soon turned to one of a dumbfounded individual.
"Huh?" Hayoon asked, clearly confused but she did not know when this word escaped her parted lips. She thought Byung was messing with her but his expression said otherwise. Laughing shortly after realizing this.
"Well, I just came to update you on your pursuers and to see if you might have any more information." Hayoon said and this made Byung's mouth arch up to complete a creepy smile.
"Wait, you were worried about me?" He asked, face trying to make puppy eyes but all this did was make him look like an aggressive bulldog about to devour its prey This put Hayoon on guard.
But before anything could happen, Kwan came in with two cups of juice on a tray, alongside sandwiches cut into two for both of them.
"That was fast! Well, worry not. I brought you a little snack to regain that 'energy' lost in that brief and rigorous activity." Kwan said in a very suggestive tone.
"Oh my God! Thank you so much. Wait, what are you talking about?" Hayoon asked Kwan but the stupid expression plastered across his face could only be translated as something perverse.
"I-It's nothing! This is Kwan, my room-mate. He is, well, family." Byung spoke, quickly changing the subject.
"Nice to meet you, Kwan. I am Hayoon. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I was a bit nervous." She replied, finally exuding confidence fit for someone of her position.
"It is fine, it is fine. Nice to finally meet you. Byung has been going on about you." Kwan said, but Byung never did and signaled him to stop whatever he was attempting to do.
"I hope it was nothing too e-embarrassing." Hayoon spoke with her body shrinking, her voice shaky.
"Hell no! One would think you were a goddess the way he described you. Don't get me wrong, you are beautiful but Byung oversold yo-!" Byung mustered the little energy he could and tossed a pillow crashing into the face of Kwan with great force, stopping him from completing his sentence.
"GET THE F*CK OUT!" Byung barked, his face flushed red and Kwan left with a feeling of satisfaction. In his mind, he was the best wingman the world had ever seen.
Hayoon laughed, this was a funny sight but she had to get back to work. Her mind felt clearer than when she first came in. She took a couple of bites from the sandwich, but due to the size, this was all that was needed to consume it all before gulping down the glass of juice.
"Thank you very much, Byung. I had more fun than I had anticipated but I have to get going. I do hope you get well soon. I would like us to go out sometime." Hayoon said, sounding way more confident than before, her aura was similar to when he first met her. Her speech patterns were clear, there was no sign of hesitation.
"S-Sure, I would love that too," Byung replied.
Kwan would be heard giggling from the next room and Byung realized that the door had not been shut. Kwan was eavesdropping.
"Goodbye, Byung." Hayoon ended the conversation, leaving the room, telling Kwan goodbye as well on her way out of the house.
Like an unwanted shadow, Kwan would appear right in front of Byung with a smug expression.
"BYYYUUUNNNGG! YOU FINALLY DID IT, MAN! THIS CALLS FOR CELEBRATION!" Kwan screamed at the top of his lungs and Byung told him to keep it down.
"H-Hey, you did not take that picture, did you?" Byung asked.
"You pervert!" Kwan teased, sticking out his tongue as he left the room to continue what he was doing.
Dohyun had followed Woojin and would keep following. It was about time he talked with him.
Woojin was disliked due to his nature, he had no regard for law nor human life and this stood against everything the guild stands for but he did not care.
"How long are you going to keep following me, Mountain?" Woojin asked, halting, and coming face to face with Dohyun.
"How long are you going to keep acting like you are not one of us?" Dohyun answered his rhetorical question with one of his own.
"That is adorable. What next? Going to offer me a cookie?" Woojin mocked but this did not faze Dohyun.
"Woojin, I am being serious." Dohyun brushed off his attempt at provocation. Despite his serious tone, Woojin remained aloof.
"Piss off man. In the end, all the world respects is power and money. If it isn't either, I am not interested." Woojin said to him.
".... Is this about your father?" Dohyun asked.
He was punched right in the jaw with a wicked right hook and this sent him skidding a couple of inches back.
"Hahaha! As expected of The Mountain! I can see why they call you that now." Woojin praised him, as he noticed the hand used to punch him was dripping blood, he had injured himself.
"That, or you are not as strong as you think," Dohyun said.
"You really should take a closer look at yourself," Woojin replied.
"What are you….." Dohyun would pause, as he could taste his blood in his mouth.
"You are strong, Woojin. Tell me, why did you join this Guild?" Dohyun asked him in a stern yet imposing tone but he was met with silence. This was unlike Woojin, he always seemed to have an answer for anything thrown at him.
"We are all sinners with a hideous past, this Guild accepted us so we may seek redemption for those sins," Dohyun spoke, walking towards Woojin.
"So, what is your point? Do you expect us to hug and be best buddies now? You are starting to get under my skin!" Woojin was losing his cool but this did not stop the advance off Dohyun.
"That dog-tag, it belonged to your father, did it not?" Dohyun asked, trying his best to get through to Woojin but no reply and he continued.
"It seems to be the only thing you always keep on you. I read an article about him. Woojin Lee, the nameless soldier that sacrificed himself to save his squad that allegedly went on to betray the nation. Of course, there was no concrete evidence for they all died in that battle. The fallen hero was branded a disgrace by the higher echelon and branded a traitor." Dohyun would speak in a sympathetic tone.
Woojin's right hand would jingle the dog-tag, a grim expression crept upon his face.
"All is useless before money and power, even justice can be bought. So tell me, what is justice?" Woojin would ask Dohyun.
"Justice is just an excuse to justify killing those that stand against the pillars of a nation," Dohyun replied. Finally, Dohyun was bonding with Woojin or so he thought as he would finally halt mere inches from his front.
"That was a rhetorical question, dummy! You should really cover your ear now." Woojin screamed, letting out a sonic scream from point-blank that was sure to faze even Dohyun. Causing a feeling of vertigo as he stumbled to the ground.
"You are gullible. Letting down your guard so easily. Justice is whatever I deem it the f*ck to be. Goodbye, Mountain." Woojin said, before disappearing away from sight.
"D-Damn it!" Dohyun cursed. Luckily, he had braced himself to lessen the effect just before it was released. He knew if Woojin did not say the last sentence, he would have taken a lot more damage. Interpreting this as Woojin's way of warning him.
"That punk!" He cursed under his breath.
