XAVIER'S POV

"Someone's at the door, Xavier! Could you please open the door? I'm with Valeria, honey!"

I got up from my bed and sighed. I had finally finished my essay and submitted all of my pending assignments. I could feel the sense of pride slowly climb up my shoulders.

I had printed applications for all the universities I was interested in and filled a few.

As I walked towards the door, I wondered who would have come at this time. I hope some lost cousin doesn't come up to the door to wish me a happy birthday.

I laughed internally at my own joke and opened the door.

The person that stood there was the last person I had expected at this time. She jumped into my arms and wrapped hers around my neck. Her shaky breath hitting the nape of my neck as my arms immediately circled around her waist. 

"Lia! W-What are you doing here? At ten in the evening?"
