Emperor Yang had to be honest; he was surprised when he found out that his newest daughter-in-law was asking to speak to him. It would be the first time he had a request from her that he immediately told his secretary to cancel his meeting after lunch and send the princess to him. 

Princess Yingyue had her grievances passed to Prince Xiaodan when they had been together. But ever since that she had been with Prince Qui, the emperor did notice the lack of her requests. It only proved that Prince Qui was taking care of the princess better than Prince Xiaodan did.

Despite having granted her this meeting, the emperor was clueless about what the princess wanted. He was curious too. She had stepped out of her shell now that Prince Qui was gone.

The emperor was in his study, waiting. He was flicking through the folder of what his next meeting would be about, catching up on the latest updates, when there were a series of knocks on his door.
