Ivan could only nod and say, "Alright, I will do just that. Thank you for helping me."
By the time the three of them had eaten their breakfast, Lola walked to their table again. Her chest bounced as she came to a sudden halt, mesmerizing Ivan and the men sitting nearby.
"My dear customers, the gates have opened," Lola informed. She had overheard Ivan and Thea were waiting to enter the White Tiger City. Some of the other customers started leaving one by one the inn since they were aware when the gates would be opening.
While a few still stayed and dined on their food as they were not in a rush.
"Naina, come on, I will show you the way to Daisy's house. Lola, you take care of the work while I'm gone; I will show these two youngins the way to their destination."
Lola nodded before picking up the trays, plates, and empty cups from their tables.
"Let's go," Thea said to Ivan and Naina as she stood up.
"Wait, my wolf is still in the backyard of your inn."
"Do you have a Magic beast pouch? Without it, you cannot take your pet inside the city. It's a rule." Thea asked.
"No, I don't have it," Ivan replied, and to know what a Magic beast pouch was, he looked for it into the system's store real quick. Magic Beast Pouch was a magical tool that could house wild and Magic beast. They were made by mages and were quite expensive to purchase for an average household.
"Then you will have to leave it outside since only the aristocrats are allowed to bring their pets inside the city without needing them to put it inside their magic pouch. You are only a child of the Knights family, so you can't do the same. Why don't you let your wolf stay at my Inn? I've hired specials caretakers that can take care of people's mounts for them. Some merchants, mercs, and lone adventurers who can't afford the magic tool also leave their mount here and at other Inns for a fee." Thea suggested.
Ivan hesitated but agreed in the end. He asked about the fee for parking his mount, no, for giving shelter to his friend, Fenrir, while he was absent, but Thea shook her head and said, "It's free for you, this one time."
'A person with an Innate ability is worth making friends with, especially if he will become a student of Ribeiro Academy. And this young man, Ivan, hit me like a good person.' Thea thought in her mind.
"Alright, but wait for me, I will tell him to wait for me, or he might get antsy."
Thea nodded her head in understanding. As Ivan disappeared behind the backdoor of the Inn, Thea asked Naina about Ivan's full name to know which Knight's family he belonged to.
"I don't know about his family, but his full name is Ivan Jaeger. Do you know of any Knight's family with this surname?" Naina answered.
"Did you just say, Jaeger?" Thea asked, surprised.
"Yes, do you know about them? Naina asked after seeing her reaction.
"Well, I don't know about the family, but there is a famous person in the White Tiger city with that surname. In fact, he is also a student of the Ribeiro Academy, and if I remember it correctly, that person is also from a knight's family. He also has a younger sister who is studying in the same academy. Maybe, Ivan is related to them." Thea explained why she was surprised. The person she was talking about was really famous and popular in the city and the whole academy. Thea raised Ivan's status and importance in her heart since just the surname changed everything.
"But don't ask him about his family in front of him." Naina suddenly said to Thea, who was really thinking of confirming her guess again with Ivan.
"Why?"
"That's because he doesn't like to talk about his family," Naina explained.
"Oh? Is that so?... Alright, I will not ask him." Thea agreed not to ask Ivan about his personal matter.
While they were talking, Ivan came back. He had informed Fenrir that it would take him some time to came back and told him to say put. Also, Ivan gave him the last of the bread he got from the system and bought some extra from the system before throwing them inside the enclosure where Fenrir was sitting.
Thea walked out of the front door first while Ivan and Naina followed after her. But just when they came out, Thea noticed two soldiers standing nearby and gluing something on the outer wall of her Inn.
When the soldiers were done with their work, they walked away.
"This is... a new wanted poster. Two thieves stole a batch of healing potion from Paison's Shop this morning. Bounty - 100 Silver coins. Tch, Tch, these two thieves rather either very daring or desperate. To think they would target Paison's shop, it will be hell for them if they got caught."
"These are... Naina, do you remember the two men we encountered on that curved road and then the soldiers behind them. It must be them." Ivan exclaimed as he remembered the man with an arrow lodged on his shoulder. Naina nodded.
When Thea asked, Naina explained about the encounter they had while riding on the grey wolf.
But just Thea noticed that Ivan was thinking about something and knitting his brows, he looked worried.
"What happened to you? Do you know these two?" Thea asked.
"No... Maybe... I'm not sure. They might be the villagers of the Wild Wolf Village, one of them could possibly be Eva's father." Ivan was unsure, but he said what his gut feelings made him think.
"Ah!... Ivan, this isn't good. The city guards will imprison Eva's father and maybe her whole family for the offense." Naina also assumed it was Eva's father when Ivan pointed at the Healing potion written in the wanted poster.
Thea was confused, but when Naina explained it to her about the nine-year-old girl Eva and how they saved her, the Inn owner finally understood the matter's gist.
"Naina, you are only half right, the guards won't just imprison Eva and her family, but they will destroy the whole Wild Wolf village if they found out that the thieves came from there. While the main offenders will be beheaded and put on a spike to be displayed in front of Paison's shop," Thea said in a grave voice.
