The ride to the house was tense, Dane had decided to use a portal to get home so that we wouldn't have to drive by his house before getting to ours.

I find myself peeking into the back seat to check on Cameron every now and then and the worried expression on my face probably looks permanently etched on.

"Do you want to stay in the back with him? I could pull over." Zach asks kindly, always the perfect older brother.

"No," I reply regretfully. "I don't want to disturb him or worse wake him up."

"I'm awake." Cameron's gruff voice speaks up and I whip my head around to stare at him, was it a Werewolf thing? Because I know Witches don't wake up looking that good.

"Have you been awake for long?" I kneel on my seat to ask, totally facing him now.

He locks those unnerving silver eyes of his with me and I duck my head before I run the risk of going as dark red as my hair.
