"Why is he not here anymore?" I remembered asking Marcus Zephanie. There was a man who used to be with us and it did not escape my notice how I no longer saw him around.

It was a little bothersome for reasons I cannot decipher. Maybe it was because I had been used to seeing him and suddenly not being able to made me think that there was something missing. Like a puzzle piece. And I want to find it.

Marcus Zephanie smiled faintly.

"People will come and go, Ava. That's something that you should learn. If people choose to stay, then they are worth keeping. If they go, then they go,"

I wiped away the fog that had started to cloud over the mirror of the bathroom, coming back to the present. I stared at my reflection. The hair color that Tori had placed in my hair had slowly faded. I looked so much like Shay once more.
