"Well, once again, what is it?" Vanilla raised her voice. She was starting to lose her patience. "You said you had a contract for me."
"Three of them actually, sweetheart," He opened his soda bottle and drank from it, relaxing his back on the bench, looking the place around. "You caught the master's attention this time."
"How so?"
"You defeated those harpies. You don't know how many human lives they took in four centuries. You must have witnessed by yourself how powerful their leader, Tabitha actually was."
"I wasn't alone. Cookie and Sasha helped me, not to mention the plushies. But if it weren't by Rowie I'd be dead by now." She drank once again from her bottle, trying to see what he was looking at.
Rowie played in front of them, too distracted chasing pigeons away to listen to their conversation. He looked comically cute hoping and jogging in circles, Vanilla thought.
