"Don't get me wrong. I really don't want to trust you. But right now, I'm not able to use any magic, which puts me in a really risky and desperate situation. I need you to understand that my current situation is the only thing that's forcing me to place my trust in you. I can't afford to look for a place where I can hide. Not how I am right now," Lin said. 

"And judging by how you saved me earlier, even when you had the perfect opportunity to backstab me, I can't help but trust you. For now, at least."

He then moved closer to the girl and said, "But I need you to explain everything you know about this town.

"I understand. I'll explain everything in detail to you. So don't worry about it. Oh, and I forgot," the girl stretched out her hands in his direction and added, "The name's Ava Garcia. Nice to meet you."

Lin nodded his head as he shook her hands. Soft. Warm. 

"Lin Hamill. Thank you for your help," he said.
