The two days when Carl was in his deep slumber, Jessica made sure to visit him and sit beside him for some time as she rubbed him because, even when Blaze said, she couldn't hug Carl before he himself asked her to do so because it's a matter of affection, and she knew that males in the beast world avoid getting close to females until and unless they were pursuing them.

In these two days, Carl didn't do any other biological activity other than being in a deep sleep, which started to worry Jessica, but after Blaze's explanation, she waited.
