Sofia paced along her room and cursed her luck while she took timely glances at her watch. It was the third time the police officers would be interviewing her and she had made sure to keep to her story every single time;
"I didn't do it and I couldn't have done it because I wasn't anywhere near that house", she said. "What more do you need me to tell you for you to believe?"
Their endless questions made each day worse and while she was safe and secure in her mother's private property away from the cameras and media, it felt like she was slowly becoming a prisoner and a convicted person in the eyes of the public. She had kept away from work after colleagues could be heard whispering behind her back, and barely go to the park for fear of being recognized.
"The real person is out there and yet I am to blame", she muttered while she lamented about her situation. "I am being made into a scapegoat for something I didn't do and I don't think this is fair!"
