Łukasz looked at him curiously.

"And what got into you? You're not offended by the company for being a suspect, are you?"

Mikołaj sensed a hint of mockery in his voice.

"I'm not offended," he muttered. "I'm just tired."

"That's why you shouldn't drink in a work days. Hey, is it true the Szwedas gave you an alibi?"

"What? What are you talking about?"

"Well, apparently that evening you were drinking together. Well, I wouldn't think you had such a good relationship with him."

Skrzynecki felt himself tense. How does Łukasz know that Stefan gave him an alibi and what were they doing? Anyway it does not matter. Fortunately, only this official, incomplete version of events was put into motion. But still, people will say what they like.
