Capítulo 156: February 14, 2021: Dubious

Momentarily, the lady's cries had stopped. Syn looked at Konrad with curious eyes, but soon realized what he was trying to convey. She didn't give an answer right away, fearing that he might just be saying that to appease her. 

"Hmm, I'm alright. You might be tired of working." The lady said as she turned her body to face him properly. 

She couldn't see his face that well because her eyes were hurting from crying, added to the fact that it was dark. Syn wanted to close them, yet refrain from doing so since Konrad was in front of her. The man noticed her little struggle so he caressed her face before raising a query.

"Do you want to open the lights?" 

"No, it's fine. You can go now. I can manage by myself."

Upon hearing her response, Konrad felt as if the lady was driving her away. Still, he knew better than that. He was aware that Syn simply didn't want to trouble him. If she so wished to rest, then disturbing her would be the last thing he'd do.
