Capítulo 17: Normal husband

Under Li man, Teasing gaze, Xiaoxi looked at Li jie only to find him smiling.

"Hey jun, dont tease my daughter"-snapped mother Li.

"Ok Your husband can go to the office only because you are letting him go.

I wanted to talk about your wedding banquet, what do you both think, we have planned everything but thought to take your opinion on it too.

So tell me do you guys have any requirements?"-asked Mother Li.

"Wedding banquet?"- shocked Zhang Xiaoxi who was not expecting or to be precise not ready to go public about their relationship yet.

Looking at zhang Xiaoxi who was not happy to know about the banquet, Li Jie understood her thoughts as this marriage was sudden for both of them.

"Yes Xiaoxi, wedding banquet. I cant wait to let the world know that you are my daughter in law and Li Jie's wife."- exclaimed Mother Li with a bright smile on her face.

Looking at Mother Li enthusiasm, Zhang Xiaoxi could not bring herself to object mother Li's idea. She didn't want to make mother Li unhappy just because she was not ready for it.

She is really thankful to Mother Li for this marriage and letting her come out of her past.

But little did she know, her husband was observing all her expressions and he could make out what exactly was going in her brain.

Before Zhang Xiaoxi could say anything, she was interrupted by her husband.

" Mom , I dont think im ready for this banquet thing, and i am also very busy these days with our upcoming project. I think I will have to go abroad for this project for a month or two.Its already been all fixed. Now please dont force me to stop all these because there are so many people involved in it and i cant postpone their work too"- explained Li Jie

"What does the banquet thing have to do with you? All you have to do is come and show your face thats it. All the other things will be managed by me and your father. How is that gonna postpone your work? And why are you saying about this trip abroad now?

You just got married and you are going to be away from Xiaoxi for so long?? Tell me are you running away from your wife?" - snapped mother Li who had many expectations from this banquet.

But this cold son of hers definitely know how to spoil her mood.

Smacking Father Li 's shoulder, she sighed "I told you i want a daughter, but look at what you gave me. This brat surely knows how to spoil my mood.

On the other side look at my daughter Xiaoxi, she knew that im happy thats why she agreed to the banquet. Isn't it Xiaoxi?? "

"I-I wanted to say"-shuttered Zhang Xiaoxi.

" Mom, Listen to me please, we will arrange the banquet after i come back from my project.

Till then atleast we will get to know each other!! Please"- said Li Jie to Mother Li interrupting Zhang Xiaoxi.

Understanding that her son is hell bent of cancelling the banquet, Mother Li sighed and said

" Okay, but no more postponement of the banquet. As soon as you come from the project, we have to arrange the banquet okay??" - said Mother Li who had another plans for the banquet.

" Did you think convincing me with that "i am busy" shit will work? No way, The banquet will be organised before you go the abroad. I don't want any other flies near my daughter in law."- thought Mother Li

"Xiaoxi are you busy today?"- asked mother Li.

" No mom, I am not working on any shoot right now. I am free."- Said Zhang Xiaoxi.

"Great, Lets go shopping today. What do you say? Your mom will also join us too."-said Mother Li.

" Mom is joining us?? Okay "- said Zhang Xiaoxi who was happy to meet her mother again.

" Look at you, you are happy only because your mom is coming. You don't love me do you?- sulked Mother Li.

"No mom, i didn't mean it like that. I am sorry"-apologised Zhang Xiaoxi .

"Relax Xiaoxi, i was just kidding. I know it takes time but remember you are my daughter too and i will love you the same as your mother."- said Mother Li holding Zhang Xiaoxi hand.

"Yan, take us to shopping. " - Said Mother Li.

"Huh? why me? I have to go to work too." - retorted Li yan.

"oh work? okay, you can go. I will ask Angela to bring lunch for you." - Mother Li raised her eyebrows and said to Li Yan.

"Angela?. mom, todays meeting is not important. I can definitely go shopping with you guys. Sister-in-law lets have lots of fun today and ear lots of yummy food"-said Li Yan to which Zhang Xiaoxi nodded her head and smiled.

he would rather suffer with all the shopping than to have lunch with that plastic devil Angela.

Upstairs:

After finishing the breakfast, Li Jie and Zhang Xiaoxi returned to their room as Li Jie wants to take files and Xiaoxi wants to get ready to go shopping.

"Xiaoxi, take this card. This is my card. Use it for today, i will make it a joint card today and get another one"- said Li Jie giving his black platinum card to Xiaoxi.

" No, I have money with me. You don't have to do this."- rejected Zhang Xiaoxi.

"Shhh-didn't we agree to be a normal couple and this is what a normal husband does right?

Now that you are my wife, Please help me take care of my finances WIFEY "- said Li Jie smiling.

Listening to that WIFEY word from Li Jie, Zhang Xiaoxi blushed. Taking the card from him, she looked uptown him and smiled.

"buy whatever you like okay?? I will be home late tonight. Take care byee"- Said Li Jie who then came closer and touched the mole on her upper lip .

"Bye-you too take care"-said Zhang Xiaoxi stuttering , who then walked him to door.

"Have you made all the arrangements. remember, no one should know a thing and you people should not make my daughter uncomfortable. We will be starting to the shopping mall in an hour."-said Mother Li on the phone.
