Capítulo 20: Second target
Although Shao Rong decided to go shopping on a whim, it was not a lie she created just to escape. She would have gone shopping anyways, if not now, a little later. Her schedule altered a little but nothing unexpected was added.
Hence, she calmly drove towards the biggest mall in City B to see the local food, culture and others.
A mall can have all the people in the area so she can see how the locals behave. Their behavior, their culture and their hospitality can be seen here. But in addition there is also their hostility, their grudges and their negativity. After all, in the biggest mall, not all the citizens enter to shop. Instead it's the specific group of social classes that enter the mall on a regular basis.
In general, upper-middle class to high class people shop on a regular basis, while others may enter the mall just for 'window shopping'.
Hence, if Shao Rong enters a mall, she can look at a diversity of people here.
She doesn't care if she was on a vacation. Her vacation is for her physical relief. Not for her mental relief.
Hence, even on a vacation, she needs to observe as many people as she can to sharpen her knowledge of various behavioral patterns.
Only by observing people can one differentiate the moods of people, if they are telling the truth or not, or if they are hiding something. All these are the essential skills a spy needs to have.
A vacation is not her blank period where she does nothing. Instead it is the time where she rests while learning or sharpening her skills at a leisurely pace.
Not just behavioral patterns, but she needs to improve her observation skills too.
She should be able to observe her entire surroundings while her eyes stayed straight.
These are not the skills that she needs to study now like a trainee. She is already the best in the field. But that doesn't mean she can slacken at everything.
Otherwise, there would be no time for others to exceed her. Hence she should sharpen them once in a while.
She caught around five thieves by observing with her eyes but neglected them. After all, she is not here to catch thieves and do some good to society. Her goals are entirely different.
Yes. She is a selfish person. But who is not?
Does she have any obligation to help everyone and catch all the bad guys in the world? The answer is a single straight word.
No.
She is neither a Virgin Mary nor a Mother Teresa.
She is a normal human being with as few emotions as she could possess. Hence her observations are limited to observations only. Not for further actions.
She continued looking at a few shops to see if she could find anything she would want to purchase.
As she moved from one shop to another while buying a few things here and there, her gaze fell on the back of a woman standing in a clothes shop.
Her lips curled up into a smirk at the view of the side profile of the woman.
She tutted and gazed at her, "Target two on sight."
As Shao Rong watched the woman, she found that she was commanding almost all the shop personnel as her servants.
The woman dumped a bunch of clothes in the hands of a shop sales assistant and walked forward to see more clothes.
The sales assistant holding the bunch of clothes tried her best to maintain a polite smile to satisfy her 'unreasonable' customer but her lips twitched involuntarily which no one noticed.
Well, if Shao Rong couldn't note such micro expressions, then all her years of training is better to flow the drain.
These expressions gave Shao Rong the result that her second target is not very friendly. Hence she needs to take another approach to meet her.
Actually she thought she would meet her during filming. But never had she thought that Shao Rong would meet that woman while she went shopping which was planned on a whim.
According to Shao Rong, to get familiar with a person, there are two ways. First one being a friend while the second being an enemy.
Since she just crossed out the option of being a friend with her target, Shao Rong naturally chose the second option.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and chanted in her mind, 'I'm an unreasonable eighteen year old kid.'
Once she opened her eyes, her bright eyes shone as her lips spread widely into a large smile as she shouted, "Oh My God. What a beautiful dress! Sister assistant, can I try this dress out?"
She ran towards the sales assistant and grabbed the top dress that was placed on top of the bunch of clothes on her hands.
Without waiting for a reply, Shao Rong snatched away the dress which was bright and colorful but before she could turn towards the dressing room, her wrist was caught by a strong yet slender arm.
