"What?!"
Everyone all said in shock. Nobody in their right mind would go out of their way to help China during these troubling times but Johnny just said that they have to.
"Let me explain." Johnny calmly said. He crossed his fingers and rested his chin on his thumbs while using the table as a support. He was calm but his voice was slightly shaking.
"It is with great regret that I must tell all of you this, but the United States of America has been bought."
This was shocking news to everyone but nobody said a word. Everyone only looked down to the ground and lamented, they were thinking about how that could have happened.
"The senate has decided that we shall give aid to the Chinese. In all honesty, it's not the senate that decided, it is China itself." Johnny continued with gloom written all over his face.
"But weren't the Chinese leaders just recently executed by the rebel forces?" Brian asked. He knew what he saw earlier.
"Yes. Because it was the rebels that bought the United States, not the CCP." Johnny replied.
Now things got a lot more confusing.
"How does that work?" Ivan asked. He was asking the right question.
Johnny knit his brows and closed his eyes once more. He heaved a heavy sigh and the opened his eyes and begin speaking.
"To tell you the truth. I don't know either. That was all I could get from my strings, anything more than that is beyond the level of my informants."
Johnny continued knitting his brows and rubbing his temples. Out of everyone in the room, Johnny was the one that looked like he was worried sick.
"You alright, grandpa?" Adam asked worriedly. He stood up and went towards Johnny.
"Yup. I'm alright. I just need some time alone for a bit. So be a good sweetie and tell everyone to leave for me." Johnny requested Adam in a low voice.
Adam nodded his head and in accordance, he led everyone outside of the room left the room last. He closed the door and soon left with everyone else.
"Haaayys. Sure is a big hassle, isn't that right, Talyn?" Johnny looked at Talyn as he said. Talyn was also looking at him with a blue tint in her eyes.
"It sure is." Talyn replied lazily with a spectral voice.

Everyone else made it to the cafeteria. The heavy atmosphere from earlier was something that stressed everyone greatly and they had to take a moment to destress.
"What should we get?" Jenny asked enthusiastically. She was nervous throughout the entire ordeal but now her face was beaming with happiness.
"I'd like a light meal for now. I don't think I can take a full meal after that." Tim replied in kind. He was still holding her hand and just let Jenny take the lead.
Adam, Brian, Ivan, and his wife all followed suit. Once they arrived at the table they picked out of many, they all sat down and sighed. They all let the tension from earlier loose.
"So, what're you guys having?" Jenny asked as she stood up and put her hands on her hips.
"I'm having a cheese sandwich." Tim replied but Jenny did not listen at all.
"You're going to order with me." Jenny grabbed Tim from his seat and pulled him up.
"Anyone else?" Jenny continued.
"I'd like a double cheeseburger with fries. And a large soda." This was Adam's order.
"Auntie, if you would please, get me any fish dish and a glass of water." Brian wanted a proper meal, though he didn't order any carbs.
"Give us the recommended meal of the day. I'm sure that's enough for two." Ivan said and his wife nodded in response.
"Coming right up. Come on, let's go." Jenny said as she pulled the unmotivated Tim with her. She was not having
This was a normal occurrence within the vault. Everyone within the Vault knew that Tim, the commanding officer of their little army could not go against his wife's wishes.
As the two of them were at the cashier, everyone else just relaxed and lazed around. Nobody had the gall to discuss what was just discussed, it was confidential information after all.
"Hey!"
But someone wanted to meddle in. It was the young Eve, she wore the same white overalls as everyone and did not look anything fancy. However, she was very cute to someone.
'Hey, looking good.' Adam thought to himself and his heart ached at that thought. He was torn between his promise and his love which made him dejected.
"What's up, guys? Why the long faces?" She asked and took the opportunity to sit beside Adam on his right.
And as cliche as it is, Adam scooched further from her. It was a useless effort though because Eve already decided that she would meddle with Adam's promise.
"Hey, Adam. Be my husband." Eve dropped her line. She slammed her right hand to attract Adam's attention which she successfully did.
"I'd love to but no." And Adam retorted immediately after.
"Come on. Just for a little bit?" Eve insisted as she zoomed her face right into Adam's. She coming in for a kiss like a thirsty middle-aged woman.
Considering the fact that she's old as hell, she's not acting very mature.
Block~ Eve's face was smashed into a light membrane barrier.
"Thanks, Brian." Adam looked at Brian with warm eyes. He was thankful that his dear friend was willing to use magic just for that reason.
"You're welcome." Brian courtly replied as he fixed his posture and checked on his clothing. Just like an animal aware of its competition, Brian went on full alert mode.
"Hey, Brian. Let me through." Eve said as she continued pushing her face into the barrier. She was not having a great time as her face contorted and her saliva even spread on the membrane.
"Give it a rest, Eve. Adam just told you no, right? Don't overstep his boundaries." Brian explained to Eve with the eyes of a winner. He was feeling great that he was able to help his friend.
"It's your barrier though? It's not Adam's so it's okay." Eve retorted. She didn't give up and continued arguing to tell Brian that she had a place in Adam's heart.
"Shell." Adam cut off their conversation and used magic to
Brian and Eve carried on with their bickering until Tim and Jenny finished queuing their orders. When they arrived, Eve became as cool as a cucumber and collected herself.
She was trying her best to be presentable.
'This girl.' Brian sneered at Eve's two-faced adventures. He did not like that Eve was doing, but he was no better as he also did not relent and just let nature take its course.
Realizing that, Brian had a thought.
'Am I gay?' He shook his head. Brian never thought of Adam that way, he was being protective over the child that he spent 10 years within this life. He was being a selective parent and he knew why.
"I didn't know there was a meeting here." Lilith's voice rang from behind Adam, Brian and Eve. She was wearing casual white overalls as well, but she looked a lot better than Eve.
'This one, I can accept.' Brian thought to himself. He was grading both of the partner candidates for his best friend and he was leaning heavily on Lilith.
Lilith walked up to Brian and stared at him without saying anything. She smiled but somehow her face was filled with an umbra, which made her look very sinister.
'Well? Aren't you going to move?' Lilith eyed Brian.
'Haha. I'm not going to give this seat up.' Brian replied with his eyes.
'Oh? So you want that pipsqueak to win him over?' Lilith replied, still with her eyes.
Brian's face contorted, he did not want that situation to happen at any cost. He has seen how Eve acts and how spoiled she can be for a child. She was true to her desires just like an adult which scared Brian.
"Well. Tim, it looks like you're going to have to go back to the cashier and add two more meals." Jenny said as she had a playful smile on her face. She rubbed her head on his shoulders just like a cat.
"Ugh. Alright. What are you guys having?" Tim asked. He still could never say no to his wife as a domesticated husband.
"I'm having Adam for lunch!" Eve cheerfully said with her left hand raised up. Her armpit was exposed to Adam but she had the body of a child so it didn't matter.
"Me too!" Lilith did not back down. And unlike the undeveloped child that Eve is, she at least had the melons that shook when she raised her hand. This jiggling effect caught Adam's eyes very well.
"No fair." Eve felt like she lost this round.
"Just a reminder, I'm not going to date anyone until all of this is over." Adam sternly said. He was burdened by the broken world even though he wasn't the chosen hero.

Buildings were burning and screams ensued within the background. And on the foreground was a man covered from head to toe in protective clothing. He was laughing maniacally as he looked at the flames.
"BURN! BURN! Hahahahahaha!"
The arsonist was the man gifted with the flames of misplaced anger. He returned and with more firepower to burn even a city by himself.
"By the authority of the New Chinese Government! Cease your actions!"
