Capítulo 26: Pill Recipes are Also Techniques
"You wanna come in?" Lan Xiang entered his house.
"I'd rather not..." Lu Xifa squirmed around outside. "Anyway, I'll be back in 20 or so minutes, finish what you're doing then. Otherwise, go back to school on your own."
She closed her eyes. With a swing of her palm, a rift tore open right in front of her, only a blue vortex visible through it. She walked in, the rift closing behind her.
Lan Xiang quickly ran to Xie Jian's room.
Knock.
"Jian'er? I'm coming in."
Before he could pull the door, it opened by itself, Xie Jian right behind it.
She planned on heading out of her room... without clothes.
"Aiya, what are you doing? Get back inside and put on some clothes." Lan Xiang pushed her back inside.
"Hm? Xiang, you're here! I love you..." Xie Jian started to give him tons of kisses on his face.
As much as Lan Xiang was enjoying it, the stench of alcohol present in her breath hindered him from taking pleasure. He never was fond of that smell.
"Jian'er, wear some clothes. In fact, I'll make you wear some right now..."
Lan Xiang dragged her back inside and locked the door. A few minutes later, he went back out with his hair all messy and his uniform creased up.
Xie Jian was too rambunctious!
She walked along as Lan Xiang led her to his room, holding her hand. She still wasn't wearing any clothes, so Lan Xiang wrapped her up with a towel as a compromise.
"Xiang? What- burp, what are we doing here?"
Lan Xiang swatted away the burp in front of him. "I'll be making my very first pill. To get you sobered up."
He took out the furnace and started according to procedure.
Along with the furnace, Xie Gang also handed him a couple of pill recipes. Otherwise, the former would have been useless.
He never looked at them yet until now.
Clear Mind Pill Recipe

"Hoh? So pill recipes count as techniques too?" Lan Xiang was delightfully surprised. "That means I can also upgrade these recipes!"

The pill recipe for the Clear Mind Pill fortunately didn't need any ingredients. Otherwise, he would've needed to trouble Lu Xifa to buy some...
The pill only needed the purest water formed by qi, molding itself into a spherical shape in the furnace. The qi would then "sew" the water in place, forming its solid pill shape.
Lan Xiang frowned as he recalled the "Pill effect" section of Clear Mind Pill Recipe's information page. "Only Mediocre? I guess I need to upgrade this..."

Lan Xiang practiced the Pill Refinement Notes day and night for this moment. He closed his eyes, channeling his awareness to inside the furnace to finely control the water and wood element more precisely.

He gave Xie Jian, who was running around, the pill.
"Here, Jian'er. You should swallow this."
As soon as Lan Xiang gave it to her, Xie Jian swallowed it without hesitation.

Xie Jian widened her eyes. Her dry mouth felt remarkably refreshened, as did her throat that the pill went through.
The pill burst inside of her, dispersing itself into her whole body.
Soon enough, Xie Jian woke up from her daze.
"Eh? Xiang...?" She looked around.
All of a sudden, she tried to cover her body up. "I, I... wait a minute!"
Xie Jian grabbed the towel on the floor and ran out of the room. A few minutes later, she went back fully dressed.
"Xiang, I'm... sorry." Xie Jian drooped her head.
Lan Xiang patted her hair. "What are you sorry for?"
"For drinking your wine and causing you trouble."
"Listen. That wine was for you anyway." Lan Xiang smiled. "Although it is a pity, we don't have any drinks for your 19th birthday anymore..."
"What are you talking about? I can just call up grandpa to nab some wine from my father's cellar." Xie Jian laughed.
"That's the plan then!" Lan Xiang nodded. It was a good, foolproof plan. All they had to do now was wait for her 19th birthday!
