The Gate room felt empty, quiet, without Gabriel's soul in the veil. Without Liam and the power that fed him through the Sidhe portal. I'd thought this place long gone like my poor, dead love.

Could there be hope where once none existed? I wasn't foolish enough to think Liam could somehow come back from the dead. Okay, mostly not so foolish. But the chance to see him after all this time was almost as painful as losing him all over again.
