Capítulo 211: Preparations for the Big Bombs
Over the past couple of weeks, I've been getting increasingly disappointed looks from Aurelia. It's been happening anytime I had thought about using nuclear fission for the distraction bomb Yue wants me to make. Although she doesn't say anything, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that she doesn't want me to make a nuclear bomb. But at this point, I have to give up regardless of Aurelia's thoughts on the matter since I haven't eaten any uranium or plutonium, or anything similar, not to mention I don't even know where to begin when it comes to making a nuke. Aurelia probably would know, but she obviously won't tell me.
With the deadline approaching in two weeks, I, unfortunately, have to give up my hopes for my greatest mushroom yet and begin making a normal but slightly larger explosion. To that end, Yue and I have gone out of the city to scout for suitable locations. I found a few spots that looked good, they were pretty close to the city, yet on the far side from where the operation target locations are, but Yue denied my suggestions saying that I can't use farmlands since it would impact the people too much.
After a couple of hours, we eventually found a few suitable locations for my bomb. A slightly out of the way area just off the side of the road, another around a hill, and a third in the nearby woodlands. Since the purpose of my actions is to create the illusion of an assault on the city, rather than using a single bomb in one location, we're using multiple to create a panic and get most of the military forces out of the city for a period of time.
"Now that we have our locations picked, let's talk materials, what is it you need?" Yue asks.
"I can make most of the materials myself, but I don't think there is enough time for me to do it for all three locations myself. Help me get charcoal, saltpetre, and sulfur, I need you to provide a few tons of each. I still have a small stockpile of each, and I can make more myself, I there just isn't enough time for me to make everything for all three locations, so if you want a big enough diversion then I'll be counting on you to provide those materials."
"Alright, I'll see what I can do, but that's a lot you're asking for, so it won't be easy to obtain nor do I think I will be able to get everything. If you had come out here earlier it would have been much easier to get what you're asking for, but even then, I might not have been able to get everything, the amount you're asking for is no small number after all," Yue says.
"Just get what you can. I'll get started now, so you can go and deal with the remaining preparations, just remember to come back and pick us up later, it isn't exactly easy for us to enter the city without you."
"Yeah, I know, I'll be back to fetch you for dinner tonight," Yue says, leaving me alone in the woodlands.
Thankfully, Aurelia isn't here to bust my lie, I don't even need the extra materials from Yue. I am fully capable of making everything myself for all three locations in just a matter of days. I just wanted to take it easy and work as little as possible. I should probably dig out a pit to put the black powder into and I guess I can make a some of the powder as well so it looks like I was working seriously when Yue returns.

Akkre_Kojuuin I bit of a short chapter since I decided not to use a nuclear bomb for a couple of reasons. One, it just doesn't make sense for Cordelia to know how to properly make a nuclear bomb, she only has surface knowledge in regards to subjects outside of her expertise. Two, the only person in the group who would know how to build a nuke, Aurelia, definitely wouldn't share that knowledge with someone like Cordelia who would be more than happy to use them everywhere.
Also remember when I said I wouldn't be around for like a week to play "Ys IX", well I finished it much faster than I thought I would, last night before going to sleep actually. And without spoiling anything, all I got to say is, damn what a fucking coincidence. I'll talk about it more in the note for the next Eternal Universe Online chapter (spoilers included), which will be out later today or tomorrow or maybe the day after, I haven't decided yet, but it will probably be within the next three days.
Also, I checked the weather app on my phone and apparently, it's going to snow almost every day this week. I hope my power will be alright.
