Steven beats me to Sootopolis the location of the cave of origin. His competency is now bordering on psychic wizard territory. I don't know why I'm the one they're having face full power Groudon but I am. They give me a heatproof space suit, so me and my team head in. I don't know how Pokemon gods work, because just being awake Groudon makes the world noticeably warmer. However, he also isn't very strong. I came at him with the full team mega evolved and it was probably overkill. I considered catching him, but it might fuck up the planet and I still need to live here for at least 9 years. After Kwan stomps him Groudon faints, falls to the ground, and then slowly sinks into it.
After his defeat, there was a light show where a giant green beam shoots into the sky. Leaving the cave, Steven gives me the other magic orb to hold onto and then a flute to summon Latios or Latias in order for them to fly me somewhere. With Groudon defeated and the weather back to normal Steven and the local gym leader leave.
With team magma now-disbanded I have nothing better to do then finish the Pokemon league. So I have mega Venasuar beat the 8th water gym leader here in Sootopolis. I can now waterfall outside of battle and am qualified for the Pokemon league.
I decide to have Walts teleport us back to Lily cove so that I can go on a bit of a shopping spree. I have been winning a lot of battles and wagers with random trainers and have built up a rather large surplus of pokedollars. I know the elite four and Steven are going to be hard because I only have three Pokemon and won't always have a type advantage. So I can either train more Pokemon or I can make the ones I have better. I buy the full lot of TM available and then also buy the full selection of stat drugs. Over the course of a couple of weeks I refine our teamwork, have them learn as many TM as possible, and start incorporating vitamins into their diets. 3 months of hardcore training and I feel they're near their peak. So I use the flute to call Latias. I ride her past victory road and directly to the Pokemon league building.
The elite four are a challenge they're definitely the strongest trainers I've battle so far. However, the training and strategic use of potions between battles let me prevail. Against the elite four and Steven. I think it's kind of bull that they each face challengers at peak condition but challengers have to go 1v5, but it's over I'm named champion and Kwan, Herb, and Walts are recorded alongside me. I teleport to Oldale and then head to Littleroot for the first time. There I meet up with May and have a battle against my 'rival' after fighting the entire elite four plus the champion this is nothing.
It feels like a nice end of a journey. Except I've got another 9 years, just when I start considering what I want to do next May invites me to dinner.
It's great just to sit down and have a home-cooked meal. I've spent so much time just eating camping rations or eating out it can get old. We just sat around talking May about how she was planning on challenging the elite four, Professor birch was talking about his research branching out to Pokemon from different regions, and I just told them about some of my adventures. After dinner, they made up the guest room for me. After months sleeping in hostels and outside having an actual bed and room to myself was great. But it wasn't made to last when I woke to may screaming I knew things were just going to get crazy again.
It turns out someone had snuck into her room and stole her Mega Bracelet. Her dad is out so she can't leave, but I can so I set out chasing after the thief. I make it to route 101 and am greeted by a familiar sight. Professor Birch being chased by a wild Pokemon with all of his stuff on the ground. He begins yelling for help. I pick up one of his fallen pokeballs and history repeats itself only this time with a cyndaquil instead of a mudkip. He let me keep it in exchange for not telling May that this happened again. I named him Quil and then headed onto Petalburg.
Then things got crazy. It involves an ancient order of dragon descendants, a meteor apocalypse, parallel worlds, divergent histories, superweapons, ancient superweapons, and aliens. All over the course of a day. In summary, I proved myself capable and worthy and so I was allowed to battle and capture Rayquaza. It was then taught a special dragon move and then it mega evolved. I then rode it into space where I blew up an incoming meteor and destroyed an alien Pokemon.
This did cause some problems though as I was now in control of Rayquaza one of the strongest Pokemon in the world. I thought they'd ask me to release it, but they had a different offer. Wallace the 8th water gym leader of sootopolitan was one of those dragon order members called lore keepers. With his duties to the order done for the foreseeable future he wanted to retire and Steven wanted me to take his place. I thought I was too young, but there were gym leaders not much older than me with fewer qualifications. I then thought about whether I wanted to be a gym leader or not. The perks of being a gym leader are pretty great though. Complete removal of restriction for basically anything to do with Pokemon, a nice permanent house, and a fat paycheck. The only responsibilities are to primarily stay in the city where your gym is located and to accept challengers. All in all, a pretty sweet gig especially considering I don't really know what else I want to do. Plus I miss having a real bed.
